you havea good point about the control. Most people would instantly think money which is most likely true for the big media companies, but the goverment would look at the control side of it. But it is the complete opposite of freedom of speech... and technically you cannot 'shut down' the internet.

I wouldn't be too worried. In Australia, some nutbag named Stephen Conroy proposed an internet "clean feed" (I.E China-style censorship) but ultimately failed when it was proven to be too expensive and flawed to implement. What the US congress is forgetting is copyright laws already exist.

Although no-one really knows what the future is gonna hold, I doubt that 'punk TV' is going to die. 'Punk TV' can be defined as 'People getting onto a video camera to broadcast things they like/believe over the web, as long as there's no excessive copyright violation involved. Would DJ mixes quality for this classification? Perhaps, but I think there's always gonna be some form of video hosting site on the internet for the people to state their complains, even if the powers that be won't listen.
