I also agree that some company should re-release full restored episodes of "Private Secretary". I purchased the public domain set (2 DVD's), and the quality, the editing, and the continuity stunk on ice. They showed episodes from a few different years all with the same intro/outro credits from one year only, the audio was off, chunks cut of of scenes, what a mess!
I agree. Those public domain DVDs are terrible, but sadly they're the only way anyone can see this show nowadays unless they recorded it from Nick @ Nite twenty years ago. I'd love for this series (along with The Ann Sothern Show) to get a proper DVD release. Old shows like this SHOULD be released - forget that new nonsense!
It's great to see this opening again. :) Despite the inherent losses in the VHS format (and age/wear of the tape) one can still tell how very much better this show looked on Nick @ Nite than it does in its awful public domain DVD releases of recent years. For Nick @ Nite it was beautifully remastered from 35mm film; for the DVDs they used 50-year-old syndication prints.

"Good morning, GIRLS!" . . . blast from a (blessedly archaic) past.
