It's not about a lack of respect (I respect Kobe), 9 times out of 10 the MVP comes from a top 3 team either from the west or east.In '02-'03 Duncan deserved that league MVP award MUCH more so than Kobe. In '05-'07 The Lakers as a team were horrible, Kobe could have averaged 45 and still not win the MVP because he never made his team better during that time period. How the player affects his team is taking into account for MVP discussion.
