yes...even a small native plant in a pot will raise awareness and make the topic more present in everybody's mind....so that it can be more of a properly recognized topic in society, and lead to public gardening with more of a focus on the original natives...everywhere!!
That is a pretty good idea. I'm only planting native trees now. Too much strange plants everywhere. Plus native plants can be free and will be adjusted to the climat =)
Thank you for your gift back, the wildlife will be so thankful. And I'm sure it will be great for the birds and bugs especially which are so important, lots of native species protecting your wild patch will help the gardens too I'm sure;)
Australia is one of those countries that has a tiny percent of its landmass occupied by humans. Planting natives is a great thing, including saving water and reducing time caring for them. However, it really depends on your actual purpose for this idea- is it to attract birds and wildlife? Is it to do your bit to stem greenhouse emissions? Or is it for aethestics? I'm unclear. Unfortunately, most people watching this video are doing these things already and your main audience is being missed.
Great concept. Nearly ALL of our native trees and plants are GONE. But, we have 1 saved preserve outside of town. I'll see what I can do for my little part of the world in my back yard. Thanks! Garden Blessings, GAiL
We generally leave a strip between cultivated strips to serve as habitat for various beasties that need cover. I also am blessed with various predatory bird species to keep down the stupid and diseased rabbits and other beasties that try to eat my crops. I`m not a nature freak, as, I`m in a constant battle to keep nature at bay, so I can make a living on my homestead. I understand, however, that there has to be a balance between prey and predator to keep both in balance.
Here is an idea - plant a tree or shrub away from your farmhouse/ garden area and you wont have to worry about fighting nature and keeping it at bay. It will attract native birds as it will provide a habitat for them in the future :)
Blackberries are introduced species in Australia. We have been attempting to reduce the number of these plants since they were introduced from Europe.
terrific idea to promote however I had to laugh, (as an American), every time you said "pot plant" instead of potted plants..two distinctly different meanings here! As any amount of private property becomes scarcer perhaps people will come to understand the importance of their own little 'wild corners'. Perhaps.
plus...it raises awareness....when people come to my project and see all the natives I can gather integrated into my project....and the project itself integrated into the surrounding ecosystem (what is left of it...)...then it raises awareness...also...it is important to let people know about the native flora...specially with it being practically erradicated from the urban areas..unfortunately...
absolutely...great idea...I have dozens of native species planted all over my garden...I reproduce them from seed in plastic pots...and then during the rainy season i plant them in the ground...will make a video about this too...very important to re-wild parts of your property...links it to you local ecosystem!!.
yeah maybe put in a bee hive as not only will it help ur own garden it will help the bees thrive which are becoming less and less populated in the world..plus u get honey as a bonus! =)
Well I got about 3 acres out of 5 acres that are untouched woods/forest so guess im already doing the "nature thing"..when a tree falls i just let it be..dont allow any hunting on my property either..so its all natural for sure..and I do see some wild things around here and once had a whole huge flock of wild turkey scratching around in my front yard..(was wishing for a shotgun & a good eye to fill my deep freezer, tho, lol)..have also had some deer in my yard..
Seems u got cut off..are u talking about feeding the hungry or giving back to nature what u take from her as a way of going "green"?? At first I thought u were wanting to plant "a cabbage for every pot!" lol..which would not be a bad idea for people to grow some things for the locals who are having a hard time buying groceries in these rough times...sort of like the victory gardens during the great wars...Christian, u have a good heart! Blessings to you!

Fruit trees are good.
You will get fruit and racoons, possums squirels.
Hymalian blackberries (vining berry plants grow fast, produce berries and give birds hiding places. Keep posting!

Grow Pot Plants - YES! Excellent idea - everyone should .lol. j/k (not).
You might consider an Insectary adjacent to your veggie garden Christian.
Looks great (from what I could make of it). ;?)
