Some serious genius in the early Red Dwarf scripts - a guy's being told his best mate and would-be girlfriend are dead (among others) and it's funny, yet it doesn't feel off in any way.

I kind of like the episode where the Rimmer of this universe had to become the new Ace Rimmer as they traveled through a ring of multiple graves of past Rimmers. Which begs the question of why the Rimmer coffins were all sent to their universe, but avoiding that aside, it was still epic.

@Gjkl345 yeah that was a good episode. it is true though red dwarf had quite a few plot holes. cechanski was about four different actor, why holly suddenly became a woman, why kryten randomly appeared again at the start of season 3. also, in ace rimmers origin episode, he was told that once the ship leaves a universe it can never come back. so how did the ship return to the red dwarf universe in the episode you mentioned. over all though it was an brilliant show, if you can ignore all of that.

Cechanski was just down to actresses becoming unavailable, holly became a woman after he fell in love with the female version of himself in the alternate reality (season 2) Kryten was found destroyed on an asteroid by lister and was put back together again. That was all explained in the super fast starwars spoof title scroll at the start of season 3 There isnt an explanation for the ace rimmer but it could be because he's not the original ace (who died) so differnet ship ?

shame they didn't add the laughter box in the new episodes, it'd encourage you to laugh. It's like when something funny happened and there was no laugh it was like no-one involved found it funny hence less people laugh *sigh*. Besides, this wasn't filmed with a laughter track it was filmed in front of a live studio audience - so the laughing is genuine. Always annoyed me personally though
