As an historical piece of music I like this. However, this machine has now severely dated and the music now sounds out of date. At least the latest Korg Electribes are units that can still produce music that sounds as if it is for todays dance scene.
@KubriksMonolith I have the Korg Electribe Mk2 and I disagree its not that good. Maybe their other models are good but that was the biggest mistake i've made when it comes to eqiupment.
I have to agree with retaxez. I've owned the Korg ESX-1, EMX-1, and EM-1 (I sold this to upgrade to the EMX-1). I then bought the Yamaha RM1X. The playability and features on the yamaha killed the Korgs, and the RM1X is significantly older. The sounds weren't as good. I then got the MP-7 with the XL-7 ROM, and sold my ESX-1 and EMX-1 and downgraded to the ES-1 and EA-1. The electribe series cannot compete, and are severely overpriced considering the lack of being able to play two notes/same time
I have my Proteus 2500 now for a few months and have to say that this thing is killer. OK, the sequencer is somehow a little complicated (if you are used to mpc-type sequencing). But if you learn to use it, it's the bomb!!! I can make drumgrooves that swing like hell with this thing... and the arpeggios is crazy too...
the wurst sequencer i have ever experienced.thank got i never baught that garbage.i only played with it while i worked at sam ash. In the words of the great "tony Montana" -
