Im 15 dad showed me just one episode of family ties around 2 years ago and I was like LOVE IT get More he was like no more iw as sooo depressed now they show it on 11 here in australia at 4pm I LOVE IT XOXO <3
@oneawesomefreak1 "Family Ties" wasn't cancelled. It aired for 7 seasons. They had to stop somewhere; the actors had lives to live and careers to expand. Idk, maybe you meant that, but I was just clarifying.
Michael J. Fox is a truly amazing actour. He turned a minour roll into one of the most memorable characters on TV. I love Michael J. Fox, and I still watch the TV show, even though it was cancelled nearly a decade before I was even born. MJF is my hero, and just a fantastic guy in general. I love him(:<3
There are people that show their age when they age & get older, but Michael J. Fox STILL looks like Alex P. Keaton to this Day!! That's Awesome! Hollywood....i mean, HollyWeird needs to get with it and crank out some Great TV shows like they once did back in the 70's & 80's. The stuff now days STINKS! >:( The 70's had Sanford & Son, Good Times, What's Happening, etc...The 80's had Family Ties, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Small Wonder, Who's The Boss?, etc...WAKE UP HOLLYWOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
The thematic vision of this sitcom was absolutely genius. Hippies for parents, Oldest Child very conservative and inclined to the era of the '80's....
Very original. i lived as a kid to sit down at the tv set w/my Dad and Brother every Thursday. 8pm w/The Cos and 8:30 w/Family Ties...9pm was Cheers. It was nothing like it. I miss those days so much.
My sister and I loved this show when we were kids...and watching it again now still bring back many wonderful memories. I think Michael J Fox is so inspirational....he made it big, but remained loyal to family ties....unlike many other actors who will demand for a huge pay raises and etc. He also battles parkinson with such grace....I hope they find a cure soon....it's so tragic this has to happen to such a talented and good hearted person.
Yup, the good ole days when television touched on morals and values that is truly lackiing in our society today! God, I can't believe the trash they pedle to us today. "Family Ties" was totally Awesome and genius writing with the "conservative" son, and the "liberal" Parents...The writers "perfected it like a dance" the whole "give and take" between the two view points!
Michael J Fox, love him. Grounded, sensible, lives in the moment, appreciates life, and took his stardom all in stride!
really adore this special feature from the 2nd season DVD. seems like since the recession began, the releases have stopped. Still hoping for seasons 6 and 7... soon? should we start a petition for CBS/Paramount? ...
Hi everyone, We watched Family Ties in Australia and I must say that during the 80's we were all fans of the series. All your comments are correct and so spot on. I watch re runs and it takes me back to a time where values were not an issue becasue they were the pilar of our lives. Not the money but the values. We weren't better people we were just simple people who had no choice but to communicate. There was no messenger, playstation. I feel proud and fortunate to have grown up in that era.
i watch family ties(re runs of course) everyday and man i wish micheal j fox was young again, he was soo good looking back then, i am soo in love with his character of Alex... and im only 15 !
Michael J. Fox was ALWAYS my favorite actor because he had an inner drive to make his fans happy and most importantly, to laugh!!! He is a hard worker and it shows! Looking forward to meet him one day. MJF is #1 on my actor list!
I grew up watching Family Ties. My favourite show of all time. whenever I think of Michael J. Fox, I think of Alex P. Keaton. Family Ties was not only a show for laughter, it's a show that really makes me feeling warm, even today.
I know what you mean i feel the same was, today there is a bad thunderstorm here and i am curled up in front of my fireplace watching family Ties it really does make me think back to a time when things were much more simple and people had better family values, Family Ties gives me a warm feeling when i watch it too
Michael J. Fox is an icon, plain and simple. He opitimised the 80's. Family Ties was a wonderful show, and TV needs to be this simple, clever and happy again.
Hey fasionhistorylover, you jackass, in case you didn't know Michael J Fox has Parkinson's and is 47 years old. I'm sure you're perfect, thin, and beautiful (just ask you) but I can't imagine it's easy to work out when you have Parkinson's disease, and stay as thin as you were in your 20's. Grow up and get some perspective.
hehe, I wanted to be Alex P. Keaton when I was a kid. Mum and I still laugh about how I used to get dressed up in my suit and walk around with a brief case. Once I sat down with the paper and turned to my Uncle "the dow is down" and shook my head. To which he replied "again!?" knowing full well I had no idea what I was talking about. I miss shows with these values, stories and good clean humour. So glad this and Growing pains are on DVD for my own kids to enjoy one day.
Michael Fox is an icon in america and in the world. The Best of the best. Thanx for this video. This kind of shows makes americans proud. American people are very kind care about others respect to others and care about the world.
pakko33: I agree with you, Michael J. Fox is an icon. But sorry, I must to tell you that all people around the world are kind, care about the others, respect to others and care about the world, not only people in the United States of America! And do you realise than you aren't the only americans in the whole America??? America is bigger than that, America is no only United States!!!
I had a huge crush on Michael J Fox as a teenager. I never missed an episode and am so glad that the show is being released on DVD. Everyone played their parts well. I think that Michael J Fox is very brave to put himself out there to bring attention to Parkinson research. He's a great actor.
