Love your car...what's not to love. My partner bought a '91 Chrysler 5th Avenue a few years ago for a song with only 29,000 miles! Runs great and fully loaded gets 28 MPG on the open road. Load leveling shocks keep the ass up and are original. Love the console and wood in your Mark! Looks like it just came out of the factory!
Bet it looks even better in person. I used to detail on the side for extra cash in those days-I was 18-and I drove all cars including a Drs. Mercedes and it was nice but not a Mark V. The 76-78 Eldorados were tight too. I would have to buy both cause the eldo in 76 came in a convertible.I read somewhere on a different page where a guy was telling a teenager of today that cars then were not as quiet as they are today. I never rode in a more quiet car than the Lincolns and Caddies of those days.
Are you guys from Dallas? I think we may have talked before! I have the 1967 Continental in the LCOC I cruise during pride. She going to be repainted and I would love for you guys to see her when she is done
my grandpa has a 78 mark V and it has 28,987 miles. he inherited it from his brother in 1980 and parked it and just did regular maintnence throughout the years. its in prestine condition
I have a blue one that is just a blast to have. The sunroof is absolutely gigantic and the blue interior adds to the car's 70's feel. Its great because when you drive it you feel like your sitting in a lazyboy reclining chair. Its just that comfortable.
The white is one of the more rare Collectors Edition Mark V's. Remember these were only made for one year in 1979. There were only 2040 painted in white I believe. I have one exactly identical in a similar condition, it's a great car that gets lots of attention.
NOW THATS WHAT I CALL A CAR PEOPLE and today they just dont seem to get the respect they deserve i have a 78 cadillac deville and i know what its alabout! oh yea
are there still a lot of those cars in the usa? it seems like they would often stand in wide fields and going broken... are there many collectors of old cars?

Those old Lincoln Continentals had an cool style and that bad ass look that I like so much.
BTW: Those radiator grill always reminds me of a Roman or Greek temple from the ancient world ;)

I remember taking a test drive in a dark blue one like this. I was so partial to the oval opera window, I decided to buy a Givenchy instead.

I like your designer car. Recognized the buildings in Dallas, use to live there. When I was a kid, I dreamed of having a car like this one.

Looks great man! I've got a 1978 Emilo Pucci Edition but sadly it's not as clean and rust free as your 79. Long live the big Lincolns!
