Cat3 to cat5e for telephone, cat5e has the phone tone
so if you have cat3 cable old school like red black, yellow, and green, half the house is old and half is use cat 5e cable set up with the phone so in this case how can i connect cat 3 to cat 5e to get phone to the other half to get phone, remember the cat 5e half have the phone tone from my provider lol yawasare1@gmail.com
I have a standard BT phone socket(just the one!) in my flat in my lounge. I want to change the white ugly casing to a new brass one but need some help with wire connection.
The Brown and Green wires are connected to the BT Plate, but with my new brass one(which has numbers on it) I'm not sure were they are meant to go?!
And what about the other wires that are not in use, do i leave them the way they are?
2 and 5 for 3wire jacks. any for 2wire jacks.
