This song was apparently inspired by the British Serial Killer; Rosemary West. Dressing like Hitler just adds to the sinister nature of the whole thing. All this appeals to me on several levels, each worst than the next. I swear down, there is something wrong with me!

The only comparison drawn with JD is the similar bass line. The drumming style is completely different. The guitar sound is completely different. Paul sings in a barotone, as do many rock singers. Seems like every post-punk band gets compared to Joy Division whether they sound like them or not.

@frenchkids Even the bass line is different. Hooky's bass lines are much lengthier (more as in punk-songs), and even though I think the voices sound alike, JD would never have wrote this kind of songs. Both great bands, but pretty different.

Agreed. This is another world now and as epic and revolutionary as JD were, it is just to easy to slap a 'sounds like...' to everybody. Interpol sound like Interpol and that's how it's meant to be. Listen to Leif Erickson or Stella and see that Interpol can stand on their own and are not a tribute/derivative band.
