When Surfing In the 70s was a Culture,lifestyle and the life that went with it . The first Surfer Tee "Crystal Cylinders" king gee shorts and ugg boots in winter at the far away surf spots, Thongs at home Sunshine Coast but.This is a great surf movie of that era and fine aussie music.

Oh, so cool!!!!! This stands as one of the greats (both musically AND as a film) from my... er-hmmmm... childhood. Okay, let's call it 'youth'. I played this track from the film so many times that nothing of the groove was left. I had to buy a copy 3 times so I could just get into it & hold it in my thoughts while I was surfing! Yeah, I was one of those surfie chicks who cut across the boundaries & had my own board when I was four(teen) &, even in Australia, guys were only accepting us! Oh, man!

I've been a fan of Morning of the Earth since the movie was first released and shown in a run down movie theatre in Annerley, Briz way back when. Great to hear there is a 25 yr anniversary event in Sydney & Melbourne. What about the die-hard fans in Brisbane? Com'on Alby reconsider

Thank you for posting and thanks for the posted comments.Have wanted to know about the great GWT since falling (like everybody else) under the spell of "Morning of the Earth". Mike Petersen surfed off Kirra when I was a kid growing up in Coolangatta, juke boxes at Orbisons Cafe mixed the incomparable sounds of the times with the sounds of the ocean breakers, and G Wayne was the magician who pulled it together and gave the times a soundtrack. G Wayne for Life Achievement Award at the ARIAs

G. Wayne Thomas (Wayne) is my business partner. He is also my Music Hero. His voice and arrangements make me 'feel good' and this comes from pure Creativity. He has mixed feelings about stuff from Crystal Voyager - says he could have done it better. Did you know the whole soundtrack was WRITTEN, and RECORDED in TEN DAYS!! Genius. You should hear his other music. A compilation to be released 2008.

I had the great pleasure of having a Melbourne Cup Lunch with G Wayne Thomas last year, (well sort of we joined tables together) what a nice guy ,one of my heros of that time (70's) and i always wondered what happened to him. He gave me his business card, he wanted a copy of a pic my friend took in Bali around the time of the Movie.
