  • Too many gays in British popular music. It is as if there is a conspiracy.

    atheism=communism=feminism=homosexuality=darwinism=Illuminati=Adam Weishaupt=Zionism=Judaism

What do you think of my equation above?

  • wow a live version of the booby o mix awesome!!

  • never seen a keyboard so low! :-)

  • After watching this once, Neil decided not to dance on stage any more...never ever. He is so funny, too "british", but gorgeous anyway. Dancing Neil is a very special thing)))

  • Thank you for the upload:D really deserves more views.

  • its a great and rare video....many many thanks!!!! huge fan from hong kong

  • Living above the Pet Shop and having their succes in Belgium on RTL and BRT television :) Where is the time;...

  • Back in the day I was a young boy and I use to like they music but as I was growing up I found out it was gay ....crazy I like it but I am not gay at all. I just use to like their bits.

  • The first and last peformance where they were both dancing I think? :P

  • Super!Neil ZAZHIGAET!!!;))

  • So ein geiler Sound!!!!!Ich Liebe dieses Lied!!!!!!Endlich seh ich die Boys mal in jungen Jahren!!!!!!

  • jajajaa the people at the end is other concert , maybe ZZ TOP, jajaja sorry my inglish, im from Buenos Aires, ARG.

  • You can grab the audio-mp3 of this track at greatgrabber doht cohm.

  • the only song i prefer of this group !!!

    it s to big!!!!!!

  • I like the ending! AH! AH! ER! ER!

  • @CartoonsAndGameShows the ending is top of the top !!! i like too

  • I read elsewhere that, in fact, this version of WEG was recorded in 1983 and released in the following year on Bobby O label. You can find this clip on A LIFE IN POP DVD.

  • keyboard player actually moves in this :o

  • SO MANY CLAPS!!!!

  • 3:36 wooow, nunca había visto a Neil cantando en vivo, que bien lo hace y que padres efectos hace con su voz.

  • Excellent

  • WEST END GIRLS! 1985. YES! Thank You! by: Christopher (Roaming Boys)

  • I love the music.I don't know about Neil's vocals here. The second version has everything.Anyway, both of them are so sweet.xxx

  • i love psb

  • hahaha this version so different

  • makes me wanna CLAP CLAP MY HANDS!!!

  • and clap trap :-D

  • London, UK.

  • I bet they see this now they'll laugh their asses, they look fine as ever

  • theyre so cute and hotter than hell, gotta love them anyways

  • chris is actually moving !!!! hahaha.

    Tennant does look incredibley young.

  • he's so fuckin skinny

  • WOW, this is a RARE find!

Since release in the 80s, I always loved this track & PSB are legends!

BUT, this version is THE very BEST version I've heard. It 's so RAW & in demo form. I usually like things better when in demo form. With all original creation & passion. Much more than the produced & more precise versions.

Chris Lowe ALWAYS kills me, but in this he is more SEXY than I have EVER seen him.

I DIE 4 THIS! 3:34 onwards with the breaking glass, screams and effects is FRICKING HEAVEN!

  • So young and innocent, but I think they started too strong like all the dancing and trying so hard to have a stage performance......little did they knew that their signature PSB performance is being their own self.

  • As a fan of the Pet Shop Boys it's very interesting for me to see their first TV performance and to listen to the first version of their breakthrough hit.

But the second version is much, much better in my opinion.

  • I don't agree, after hearing this. But hey...

  • Super! 3:37 i don't know what's Neil doing haha...but he is so cute of course!

  • I think he was very nervous ^^

  • LOL! Yes, that was the sound of nervous tension! ^_^

  • love the dnace at the end XD

  • love this version of weg. absolutely adore neil's 80 preppy outfit.

  • Neil in this video makes the same Michael Jackson style the beat of this song remember Billie Jean

  • Funny seeing Neil not wearing a suit. Looks like he was the original "Old Navy" model lol. Also I guess he decided to give up the dancing, finger snapping and fist pumps. BTW this is the orignally Bobby O edition of W.E.G's.

  • Is this the First Version that was faster than the 1985 which was reworked into the No 1 Variant of 1986?

  • This is the version released in 1984. There are only TWO different versions of West End Girls (not counting remixes). THis one, and the "other" one which was released in October 1985, and reached No 1 in the UK in 1986 (the first of the year).

  • is this track released on cd?

  • On CD? I don't know. But you can get it from iTunes, or LimeWire if you can't be bothered to pay XD.

  • thank you for telling me /\ /\

  • yes

  • just the opposite: even the best live version

    sorry mate

  • This is the best version by far.

  • funny

  • lol

  • I like girls but PSB write great music to do all kinds of things to...you know what I mean? them and Depeche Mode

  • I choose the soft option

  • OMG! This clip is really a historical piece!

  • They are so cute! I love their "blossoming" stage presence! Look at Chris moving all around :)

  • amazing! great! niel took himself so serously i'm shure if he look at this - he will lugh. it was the start and they cant even imagine where will they be... TANX

  • This is such a fascinating little glimpse into the period right before the Pet Shop Boys made it big time, as this is more like the Bobby 'O' version of "West End Girls" than the Stephen Hague version off of Please.

One can see not only the potential but also how they improved on their act. Here they seem to be trying too hard to have stage presence, with Tennant's Bowie-style dancing and Lowe himself moving around. Tennant's singing also improved dramatically over the years.

  • he has a great voice

  • I so love this song and search out every version. There are always posts that call PSB gay or Communist. Yea, so what? Homophobic and rightist people are not known for their appreciation of creativity.

  • Soooooooo young... (gigl)

  • And you are sooooo dumb ! were you up all night writing that snappy little gem of a comment.

  • They are quite gay, but they've also got some style. There aren't many songs that get me like this one.

  • Only Neil is actually gay as in "homosexual".

  • Semblen els tios de Amo a Laura :-)

  • OMG! Where on earth did you find that? Brilliant.

  • My youth comes as a very clear picture in front of my eys. This is great. Thank You 'psbellbunny'! ..from Lake Geneva to Finland station... I come from Finland ;)

  • I love this version of west end girls

The '80 was the best !

  • i think the best/worst bit is neil going "ah" "ah" etc into the mic when those are just clearly little sampled bits..that must make him crrringe every time he sees this!

  • i think this is the original "not for USA" version. Don't like it too much to be honest with you.

  • neil must be having a seizure at the end!

  • chris needs his keyboard raised!

  • This is a piece of history...where did you find this?!!

  • hey its was a test for new bands?

  • the eighties; best music, best time, best memories and that song was one off it.

    grz J.V

  • wooooooooooooooooow

  • This is the best version! Bobby O kicks ass!

  • simply great

  • yeah, absolutely hilarious... So glad they created thier image afterwards lol

  • This was the first version of 'West End Girls' I heard on the radio in '84. I ran out and bought the 12" import single (still have it). It took me a while to warm up to the slower 'Please' version. I like them both now, but this one a little better because of the faster tempo, energy, and the breaking glass!

  • I like this versionfor its simplicity. They are not good looking and they are not that great dancers either. But their suttle movements add to the elegance and refined imajery of the song. The artists and the song have that "i don't know what."

  • MUY BUENO

  • niel was not the best looking guy back then probably the least of his worries with all the money and fame

  • This video is great!! Remember, this is 1984... Pet Shop Boys are not famous yet... they are "nobodies" when this video was made, a new band on the block. Watch them on their way to stardom.

  • Is that guy at the back fucking his synthesizer. His hip movenments are so funny. It was probably cool in 80's

  • this is the cheesier version, i like the version in please (1986) that became a megahit around the world and put psb on the worldwide map!

  • mmm... it's hard to tell for me. Perhaps the reason I like this version is that, after 12+ years of loving West End Girls, I get yet another version. This one, however, is not built off the version on Please in the same way the remixes are. For this reason, this version of the song is very refreshing. Its raw style gives us a glimpse into the roots of one of our most cherished and memorable songs.

  • I like but it's playback!

  • It was this song in 1984 that stole my heart and I have loved these two ever since........I LOVE THESE GUYS FOREVER!!!!!

  • Hilarious!

  • wow, for an 80s synthasizer band, they sound really good live. Niel must have been damn hot up there in that sweater though!

  • omg! chis is moving! haha, i love them.

  • Haha classic!

  • chevere xD!

  • gracia busque este video por años,muchas gracias

  • god look how young they look...lol. great post.

  • I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...Chris dancing!!! Who would have thought that those two would become such huge stars. PET SHOP BOYS FOREVER.

  • It was mentioned in one of their re-release albums that Chris has been known to dance some up til at least the early 90's.

  • Extra!

  • cris Lowens y neil tennat los mejores

  • neil

  • oh my gd lord look at them!!!! so SEXY! so young! OH....OH!! *fainted*

  • You are correct, first television appearance ever of the Pet Shop Boys

  • Un documento inedito y maravilloso. Gracias

  • neil idolo

  • boy chris looks sexy doing that little dance at the end

  • Interesting original version

  • Live....the music is just a tape...

  • shhhhh!

  • Awesome! :) ...

  • OOOOOOOOOOOH!

    They´re sooo cute

    They look so young

and Neil is moving more than usual, he seems like some guy from a "normal" band... the typical pet shop boys image came later (i mean still standing and so on)

    thxxxx! 4 posting!!

  • Neil looks like some old fashioned school boy... with out the cap, that is.... yet, he had his 30th birthday in 1984, and Chris Lowe had his 25th birthday. (They're 53 and 48 this year respectively I think... 1954 and 1959, they were born).

  • chooooooooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • goodddddd

  • East End Boys...West End Girls. Oh yeah!

  • buena version antigua

  • TYPO!... I meant you CAN! LOL!

  • I love them to pieces but you cant tell iots their first appearance!

  • LOL @ miming to the "uh!" sample... fantastic!

  • Osea se ve super guapo Neil Tennant ahi...jijijiji y este Chris ahi si no paresia bulto en el escenario,le ponia hganas! jajaja broma ....Nunca habia visto esto ...se ve super!!!

I love this version and the look of the pet shop boys in that tme it was incredible!! Beyond the fect that neil could be my father but in that time look awesome! and cute!! I love it!

  • si Neil se ve muy guapo, pero lo que más me sorprendio es lo bien que canta en vivo y esos efectos que hizo con su voz me dejaron con la boca abierta.

    saludos.

  • @adrianita4578 Fijate en 3:56, alli veras que son efecto pregrabados
