Robin has indeed stopped submitting her name for Emmy consideration years ago so that others could experience the thrill of winning....she would've won many more Emmy Awards since this one if she weren't such a class act....I wish other superstars in daytime who have won armfuls of awards would take a step back like Robin did so the Academy can recognize so many of those all-time greats who've never won...as opposed to the same people winning time after time after time
She will always be the original Rachel on AW. So nice to see Judith Light cheer her on so enthusiastically. Light thought Strasser should have won the year before instead of her, and was outwardly shocked at that win.
How can you NOT love La Strasser??? She's the "ONE LIFE" and Slezak is the "TO LIVE" as far as I'm concerned. Without one, there is just no show to be had. Period.
Strasser is magnificent and classy. Utterly feminine and powerful. Notice how wonderfully responsive Judith Light is to Robin - Judith's always been so compassionate, in touch with her heart as a performer and you can see how proud she is of her friend.
ALL MY CHI.....ALL MY CHICKS ! Great ladies of (abc)'s "Love In The Afternoon". How I miss THE EDGE OF NIGHT and was so enthralled with GH back then, Erica and Dorian STILL rock and are the pillars of AMC and OLTL now.
Robin deserved this win and MANY more!!! The true class of OLTL at that time were Robin, Erika naturally, Brynn, of course Judith Light, Jackie Courtney and Ellen Holly. The other aforementioned ladies are truly missed!
I agree, if emmys were given out in the 60's, she easily would have won at least a supporting actress emmy for Another World............simply the best villaness in the late 60's.
Robin deserved to win the Emmy in 1982, and Ann Flood and Sharon Gabet (EON) were also just as deserving. I too feel it's unbelieveable that she hasn't won an Emmy since; she is as stellar as Erika, who's won six I believe.
I don't believe that Susan Lucci POUNDED her fist on the table when losing. That seems like such a childish, immature thing to do, and I believe that Susan has MUCH more class than that. Silly tabloids!! Always making up stuff!!!
OH MY GOD, total class! This along with Susan Flannery's 2002 emmy win (check that out on the toob) are my favourites. These women have grace, sophistication, total heart and above all... magnificent simplicity in their depth! amazing!!!
@JONROSE44 She is very deserving, but I think I recall reading an interview she did in which she revealed that since this win, she has never submitted her name for Emmy consideration.
It was great to see Robin nominated alongside Ann Flood and Sharon Gabet from Edge of Night. All three are phenomenally talented icons of daytime.
Wow!!! What a class act!!! Double wow and omg Robert s woods looks so yummy sitting behind Robin!!!!!!
