  • @Flytothesky8595 still dosent work you idiot

  • ok i have split the track into left and right but when i try to invert the right one i click effects and all of them are grey and cannot be scelected, what can i do?

  • @ofrench560 you have to click the unplay button the yellow square on the right of the play button

  • The volume just disappears...

  • i can doo tht already BUT! i want to use the vocals on a different beat and the quality just sux! how can i doo it to where it sounds awesome like Pro DJs doo wit out having to get a rapper down and doin vocals for me

  • THIS ISN'T GOING !

  • @Flytothesky8595 i dont get it..where is "Repeat invert"? I just started using Audicity

  • i can still hear them sing how can i fix that

  • it didn't remove it fully

  • where are the vocals than

  • doesn't work, sorry

  • I did the instructions and even followed the top comment with the repeat invert thing 4x. I still hear voices in the intro and my instrumental sounds uhhh foggy? The quality is worse. Can anybody help?

  • BULLSHIT!!!!!

  • @Flytothesky8595 that doesnt work for me

  • i didnt did it too

  • I am new to this program. I tried every possible. My songs sounds like Voice Statics. is this normal? i mean I tried every music I've got. PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • @kayangthaoo press "repeat invert" 4 times.

  • @colingtr1 Where can I find that? sorry. I am new to this.

  • @kayangthaoo just look at the top comment. Right after you invert it the first time, you go back to the effects section and you'll see a repeat invert button at the very top. and do that 4 times.

  • @Flytothesky8595 yeah. still nothing.

  • I tried to remove vocals and all it did was remove the piano in my song. not my vocals...what do i do?

  • Actually, inverting 4 times made the vocals even more loud and clear LOL

  • sir how to remove lead guitar from a music??????

  • try using on rock song, it work well but the drum sound, beat is gone...

  • Didn't work... What am i doing wrong? I did it step by step.

  • o.k so i tried all that you said but i still have the vocals on there. So What am i doing wrong. Please help!

  • @Flytothesky8595 no i didnt gone for me... i clicked

'' invert'' 4 times then switch to mono and didnt hear the difference... help pls?

  • well it was helpful to me,thanks,

  • how do you make actual karaoke video?

  • I can't use the 'Invert' options. In fact it's not allowing me to use any of the Effects on the song. If I try it on a track that I recorded, then it works. But I can't get the Effects to work. Plus, if anyone can help me, I still hear both the vocals and the instrumental track when I split the track. Both tracks have both things, and muting one just let's me hear it from side, instead of hearing just the music =S

  • This didn't work, it didn't remove the vocals at all. And when I tried the thing that top comment recommended, it removed most of the music and I could still hear echoes of the vocals. It disturbs me because the echoes are really off-beat...

  • how do i get rid of that ugly static shit in the background?

  • Comment removed

  • is it possible to remove the beat and keep the vocals?

  • at the chorus of my song i can still hear the voice clear like it hasnt done anything, but with the verse i can bearly the voice

  • i dont have the invert mode in my audacity how does that come ?please help @TheHowToMac

  • nice one but mines dint work... :( i worked but no music came after....not evn a single....

  • Yes it takes off the vocals but leaves the track sounding like you're listening to it through a wall !!!!

  • thankssss!!!!!

  • U cannot remove the vocals completely. U can only make it very soft.

  • @Flytothesky8595 how do you do that??

  • mine wouldnt let me invert

  • but theres no bass when i did that

  • it does'nt work with "on the floor" or "i'm awesome"

  • I went through and played the song after each step and it plays the song up until I change teh tracks to mono and then no sound comes out, anyone know what my problem is?

  • nice you listen to dl incognito

  • @Flytothesky8595...shit aint work

  • hey there, i can't open up my mp3 files, what's wrong man

  • ...so you cant import an audacity file to garageband?

  • @Jessicannibal you can't import an Audacity PROJECT into Garage Band. If you export normal audio files that you have edited with Audacity then ofc you can import them to GB

  • Can I use this with a video that I filmed? If a extract de audio file from it, can I remove the voices and still hear the other things?

  • @Hayabusacrx no, you can use a video editor and use " Noise Removal " function. But thats a different story

  • OK THATS IT I TRYED THAT LINK IS JUST INFESTED WITH ADS!

  • Do you know how to take the verses out but keep the chorus there?

  • when i use audacacity the toolbar doesnt let me choose any effects or let me analyze anything please help!!!!!!

  • Great, thanks!

  • very useful, thanks

  • What about just isolating the drums or bass? That's what I'm interested in.

  • It didnt work! I did empire state of mind and it came out with the whole song sounding robotic and clicks, and the vocals still were there

  • @4StringAlex same thing

  • here goes nothing

  • this doesn't work!! help!!

  • it removes it but it went ugly

  • Hi, I found your tutorial really useful but the only problem that I'm having with using Audacity is that the audio file never plays, even when it's in the program. Whenever I hit the play button there's just a bunch of fuzz and then it stops after about 2 seconds. Do you know what might be the problem?

  • @captainbuttons that means its not in mp3. Download an audio converter, convert it to mp3 then try it.

  • @Tylerstutorials101 Thanks!

  • See, I am a Dubber, for Anime, and I like to be able to remove the Japanese voices; how can I do that?

  • it doesn't work i tried it and the vocals are still there. Am I saving it wrong or something?

  • it worked (the vocals are there but barely barely there no big deal) but it made the quality really bad :(

  • i could still hear the vocals, what did i do wrong

  • It works for me but only some songs dont work for it but Im fine with it. Thanks man :)

  • I did this but everything's squeaky and sounds weaker.

  • This worked, but I got dissapointed when it went from .MP3 quality to .JPEG quality.

In other words, the quality SUCKED afterwards.

  • WORKED FOR POOL PARTY BY THE AQUABATS I APPROVE

  • it dont work with every song outhere.. but it do with some remixes and older non profesional stuff.. still its shit, cuz the song made is crap quality :S

  • Doesn't work for System Of A Down - BYOB :>

  • SoSolid2k

  • you fail liar son of a bitch

  • whats silentc0re up to

  • this won't work for Queensryche's Jet City Woman. can you please help me out?

  • the vocals were still there :(

  • i did this but some of the vocals were still there

  • i want to do the reverse of this i want to only have vocals because i want to remix it can you help me out?

  • When I click on effect…i cant click on any of the effects…whyy??

  • @aSamontry you have to highlight the song and then go to effects;)

  • @musicbleep6969 thanks :) i tried it and it sounded freaky

  • @aSamontry yeah it doesnt work too good:p

  • So how would I do this if the song is directly from youtube?

  • Ok I did it the EXACT way that you gave in the tutorial , and nevertheless I STILL heard the vocals. So please let me know what is the solution to resolve this issue, Thank you

  • if you only want the vocals without music i think you have to choose the other track ( not the right but the left) and invert..

    i think...

  • ok i ended up just getting vocals instead of audio ???

  • The method of inverting/splitting stereo tracks etc on stereo files to remove vocals rarely work. More than likely they end up sounding warbled or leave remnants of the vocals or remove the bass/kick from the result. This method only works if the lead vocals were recorded with dead center with no DSP effects or stereo imaging. In the end the best thing to do buy backing tracks online or create your own.

  • thank you for wasting my time this shit don't work and hasent for everybody

  • can you use the instrumental gotten from this to make an just a vocal track, using the method shown in your other video?

  • So, what's the deal.

I try doing this but instead of removing the vocals they just turn like tinny and robotic... what am i doing bad?

  • Did exactly what he said, but the vocal is just too loud and clear.

    I tried converting this song:

    Beyonce - Run the world(girls)

However, it failed. Didn't show ANY changes

  • ok so does this only work for like some songs, cuz al the songs i have it wont work for, or does it have to do with the quality of the songs or what? all the 20 or so songs I've tried it on are all mp3 and this method changes nothing on them AT ALL!! I followed all the steps exactly and there are no changes

  • dude was that DL Incognito?!

  • Hate to burst everyones bubble but this isnt possible with audacity...

  • OMFG DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING HELPFUL THIS WAS TO ME!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

  • YOU ROCK! I've been trying to find a way to do this FOR SO LONG! Thank you!!!

  • okso wen i press effect, mine doesnt have invert! WHY?!

  • @TheHjkhsd you need beta

  • one question.!! I wanna do the oppsite i wanna remove eveything but the vocal track

  • Can you please do a tutorial on removing music from vocals please :)

  • Ive been trying to figure this out for some time and this video did absolutely nothing to the vocals

  • I did this, and you can hear the original vocals softer than the instrumental.

  • vocals still there.

  • Comment removed

  • what if your vocals are in the other channel????

  • I love you *o* thank you for your help :3

  • Hey I did everything you said but the vocals are lower but sound echoed in the background. How do I completely rid these vocals I am trying to do this for my wedding. Its track 4 and hoppipolla by sigur ros. Please help me. thanks.

  • ...I did exactly what you said, but the vocals are still there. I'm so confused. D:

  • excellent thank you

  • i wanted to sing this song as a karaoke for a long time now, but its not working for me... i followed the steps exactly how you did it, and tried 4 separate times, but i get a gargling vocal, and no instrumental. (song is huggin and a chalkin by hoagy carmichael) any clue why this is happening? any help greatly appreciated

  • thank you

  • thank you

  • err... i'm having problem with my audacity.... I can't hear my voice being played back during my second recording.... how can I fix this? :D

  • I did this but the vocals were still there T_T

  • can you make a tut when you remove all the instrumental in the song? so the vocals is remaining :)

I was thinking on do a remix on songs you know.. I had been glad if I could make a remix with vocals too :)

  • @FLstudioMixer97 I made that video on how to EXTRACT vocals using audacity. Its very important that you have both the studio quality song and instrumental. watch the video, its on my youtube channel homepage

  • after i have removed the vocals how do i use it as an Mp3

  • @beddleleddle go to export as wav

  • When i clicked effect, it showed a whole list of effects(one of them being invert) BUT THEY WERE ALL UNCLICKABLE! help!

  • This only works for mp3 files, right? Not mp4?

  • @masterhide to my knowledge you can only do this with mp3's and WAV files

  • @TheHowToMac Wow, fast reply. Thank you. :)

  • is there a way remove all background music EXCEPT for the vocals?

  • @LovesToDrum1984 Yes you can but you have to have a quality instrumental and corresponding song to do this tho. The video on how to do this is my featured video on my channel. check it out.

  • @LovesToDrum1984 ITs called a capella.

  • nothing happened :S

  • Is there a way by any chance to remove the instruments, and KEEP the Vocals

    ?

  • @JCHammer315 He's done that, you need to look for the vid that says "How to Extract Vocals from Songs using Audacity" or something like that. :D

  • I just noticed, after I made the songs back from mono to left and right, the voice at the beginning was cut out but the rest remained...

    The song by the war:

Vem Dançar Kuduro - Big Ali ft. Lucenzo

  • I did like toled but he song still has the vocals in it and doesn't sound very good. So did Audiacity cut comething away but not the voices?!

  • when i open a song from i tunes and try to play it on adacity it just makes a short scraching noise why is this?

  • look at my video

  • i dont have an "Invert" option?

  • I can't here anything!

  • ok what do u do after? can u put it on garage band?

  • why is it doing that?

  • I tried playing a song but it wouldn't work. When I play it's only 2 seconds of a strange and annoying sounds.

  • Does anyone know any programs that are good for recording, music editing, and creating music? Besides GarageBand

  • How do you save your new song to a file that will work with iTunes? I want to put it on my iPod.

  • @ErinCorrine707

You need LAME. I download it 2 days ago.

  • how do you remove the music? vice versa

  • @007Fortis

You can remove the instruments but the drums will almost always remain unless they're very light.

  • How can you extract vocals using audacity?

  • ThanX but da sound is SO creepy :S

    wht should i do?!

  • @poprince1996 there is no real perfect way to remove vocals because not all songs are recorded the same, if it sounds creepy trying playing around with the amplify effect and this will allow you to take out some of thoses low creepy sounds

  • @TheHowToMac Umm Ok ThanX agn ;)

  • @TheHowToMac

Hi, I', replying to this comment to make sure you reply to my question.

When I load a song it sounds weird when I play it even though I didn't edit it.

  • @poprince1996 Use a different song.

  • When I try this, it doesn't get rid of all the vocals, it gets rid of the main one, but I can still hear the singers voice which now sounds autotuned

  • @EvilPuppyl234 In your case to remove vocals using audacity perform the operation in the video about then add an amplift effect to you song, this will allow you to take away low level sounds and take out that annoying soft background vocal. let me know if you have anymore questions

  • @TheHowToMac My Audacity doesn't have an Amplift effect, unless you meant Amplify, so I tried adding the Amplify effect to one of the tracks and it didn't change.

  • Love it thank you

  • Good stuff brotha! I'm new to Macs and your videos have helped me a great deal.... Keep them coming :)
