@brizerbrizer i ended up buying a 1979 d150 dodge has more power with a smaller engine can take a load better because on the older dodges the rear axle is pushed way out there with my truck its about 18 inches from the tail gate and its a long bed 4x4 and i get better gas milage with the 318 and i just like having some thing i don't see alot of.. ever body and there brother has a old f100

sad to see it go, also around here you'd be lucky to buy that short box bed for $900, i am thinking maybe $1500 for the bed alone, considering our local rarity of a '73-'79 box, let alone a short box, then of course you got the whole deal of a complete truck, so around here you could have gotten $3-4 grand easily, depends, maybe more, my short box truck was $1,900 which seems like a local deal, but it needed work, but it did come with a nice 1971 302w out of a Torino, so that made it worth it,

@curtismundy because it gets 4 miles to the gallon and only has a 10 gallon tank for some reason... it was not my daily driver since i got the 1981 datsun

@DannysCam something is wrong if you got 4 miles per gallon, these truck eat fuel, but they can get better than 4, unless they got a big 460, also why in the hell does it have a 10 gallon tank? my tank holds 20 gallons, unless you had some kind of saddle tank?

there is one of those old 70's ford trucks up on my aunts property, my uncle bought it new in the 70's now its just rotting away and used for a yard truck, i don't have the heart to use it as a "shootin car" because of good childhood memories in it, but the moldsmobile,rustang, international ,old motorcycle & numerous lawnmowers are fair game, some are completely destroyed :P

@DannysCam yep Chevy parts are cheaper, in quality! but really, Ford parts are not that expensive, there prices are very comparable, i can't really see a difference in price, even then, always remember you get what you pay for! plus the styling alone of a '73-'79 Ford truck outshines any GM design!

@DannysCam well styling is just part of the greatness of the '73-'79 Ford trucks, there also built like tanks, also remember there over 30 years old,so things do need fixing, but once you got one fixed up, nothing beats them! they'll be here long after all the 80s and 90s Chevy trucks are tin cans!, also basically every new truck nowadays is used as a symbol, no matter the brand, i see plenty of blinged out Chebbys that never do a days work,also a good shape 390 should woop any GM V6 ever made,
