@MegaLoveKorea I am a former 2006 MX5 owner and all I can say is my 2008 RS60 Spyder, which has the regular power top, is better in every facet than the Mazda. Both nice cars, for what they are. Porsche's 987.2 Spyder is an awesome car and definately does not bring shame to them.
This is a special car designed for track useage... All in the name of saving weight.. Not a daily driver by any means.. Special cars require special treatment... If Porsche would just give it better tires.. But they don't want it faster than a gt3 rs
I like this simple design. Making replacement so much easier. I recently spent 12 hours replacing my s2000 soft-top, even so say that it could be done in 8 hrs

I can see some yuppie standing beside his Porsche trying to figure out what hinge goes where. Just as well; these cars rarely ever get driven in the elements anyhow. Hey, is it possible to visually turn a normal Boxster into a Spyder by buying the 'Spyder panels'? How about the hinge construction? And the lever for tensioning the little cloth back cover? And other doors also because the windows are different. I really wonder.

Ha guess you have to be careful washing this thing! Avoid spraying up the rear part of the top! How water tight is the rear button up portion of the top?
fucking ridiculous. If i had the money to purchase this Porsche, was at a dealership ready to buy, and asked the salesperson to open the top for the test drive, i'd walk out while he was fumbling about and head on over to a Pontiac dealership and get me a Solstice, then take it to the custom shop and purchase the aftermarket 1000 Horsepower engine or the Camaro engine available for it.
At least i'd stage 3 supercharge the heck out of the stock solstice engine and swap out exhaust, brakes, etc.
If i want them bad enuff i can easily justify unpractical things as being "hardcore" but this is just ridiculous. You can't even go over 200 km/h with the top up. Pure bullshit. Get a Boxster S.
This is an instructional video - in practice the procedure can be done more quickly by working through everything on one side before moving to the other side. Also, the doors needn't be open if you're in a hurry or space is restricted - just the windows.
