I picked up the guitar and tried learning a few chords with some help from my dad a couple of years ago, but kinda just left it after a while. It's caught my interest again, and I must say I was at a bit of a loss with strumming patterns, etc, until I came across your video! Thanks so much for uploading and helping us all!
i have a strumming question that hasn't been addressed in any youtube videos yet. (as far as I know) how do you do this really quick stumming technique like the one right befoere the chorus in big city dreams?
i have a stumming question that I haven't seen addressed anywhere. it's a fast stum thing going on such as in the song big city dreams--right before the chorus. help please
This video has been a revelation to me. I have been playing guitar for seven years with only one strum pattern. Ive finally got it - Thanks to you !!!! Hats off to you. Great instructive video
It's embarrising to say that I play guitar for a year but I still have some sort of robot arm, when strumming. Never really got the hang of it. It looks really stupid because I can play a solo, but not strum chords properly. This lesson helpt me a lot towards getting me rid of my robot-like strumming arm. Thanks alot!
Thanks for a great video-am I correct in saying that even when you are coming back from the 'downs' you are still hitting the strings minimally on the way up with it being an 'up?'
try playing them at a much slower tempo. focus on switching the chords in time with your tempo (playing to a click would be gd; it instills a meter in you after a while) and then gradually quicken. once enough practice, your muscle remembers, and they will be able to catch up with what you have in mind (the chords, changes, etc.)
key is to practice the strumming till it's second nature; till you don't have to spend an ounce of concentration on it and THEN attempt singing to your playing.
I agree with the above comments. I haven't learned strumming before but my buddy does it and I have to say you are doing a great job breaking it down. Thanks may YHWH (The Lord) bless you.
thank you so much!!!!! that is the habit i have

my problem is not chords even not struming The problem is to strum & sing simultaneously (@the same time)
when i'm singing -right hand (sometimes) lets me down (out of beat)
