What you need to do!, is use this as part of a complex marble clock!

have the marbles switch sides every two seconds, then have a 3 bars that measures hours, minutes, and seconds.

you would need 144 marbles (if using a 24 hour mode) plus more for however many steps you have

wow, you know how minerals like coal are elevated by belts to a higher level in factories, they could so save room if they used this technique by putting the minerals in round containers that automatically open when they reacha certain point. this could save alot of room and power. you could be on to something here.
