God is offended by receiving Him on "dirty" hands(ONLY priest can touch Him) in the Holy Eucharist!
Only accepted by Heaven form of receiving living Heart of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist of the Catholic Church is into our mouth and on our both knees!
O Lord our loving God You are so good noone else could ever be like Your goodness all praise and all thanksgiving all glory and honor is Yours forever and ever. You loved us all immeasurably Your mysteries cannot be fathomed. Please grant us all the graces to have a true conversion of heart as our respond to Your great love in the Holy Eucharist. May the good Lord bless you all!
i wanted to be closer to Jesus so i took the host from church & pocketed it. on the way home a stranger (a young friendly girl) grabbed me & said "i captured a fairy" & tried to drag me on the train with her. she was nice but i didnt know her or where she was going so it freaked me out. the transit police escorted her away when they found she had no ticket. im afraid for what i did. i believe God made an example of the girl to show me what i had done & the end i had coming.
I warn you, do not blaspheme the Most Holy Mystery. Before we begin, I'm Orthodox, not Roman Catholic. Anyways:
(1 Corinthians 10:16) The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
(1 Corinthians 11:27) Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
@KabaneTheChristian .. It's not "the most holy mistery", it's the most unholy blasphemy! You better read the history of roman-cath. heresies...
The dogma of Transubstantiation was decreed by Pope Innocent III, in the year 1215.
By this doctrine the priest pretends to perform a daily miracle by changing a wafer into the body of Christ, and then he pretends to eat Him alive. The Bible condemns such absurdities; for the Lord's Supper is simply a memorial of the sacrifice of Christ..
You are blinded! The dogma of the real presence was first called "transubstantiation" in the apostate papal church, but the dogma that the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ are truly present in the elements of the Eucharist goes back to biblical times. I provided you two biblical passages concerning this. The Bible says that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. Jesus says (in the literal meaning) to offer [as a sacrifice] the Eucharist in ἀνάμνησις of Him.
No, it's not the same thing. You claiming that it is only shows your own ignorance. Roman Catholicism phrases the real presence to include Aristotelian philosophy. Orthodoxy does not dogmatize Aristotelian philosophy...get it?
"Obvious idolatry"
Give me a break. I've given you lots of biblical evidence for the real presence...you didn't answer a single passage because you can't. You teach for doctrines the commandments of men. You hate the true teachings of the Bible.
In ἀνάμνησις of His death, that is. ἀνάμνησις (translated remembrance in most translations) is a Greek word which carries the meaning of truly participating in the event described. In addition, Ignatius of Antioch, a DISCIPLE OF THE APOSTLE JOHN wrote in 110 AD:
"...the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes."
(John 6:54-56) Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
@KabaneTheChristian ..@KabaneTheChristian ... The spiritual presence of Christ is implied in the Lord's Supper. (Read Luke 22:19-20; John 6:35; 1st Corinthians 11:26).
Host -wafer is not a bread.
The adoration of the wafer (Host), was decreed by Pope Honorius III. in 1220.
So the Roman Church worships a god made by human hands. This is plain idolatry and absolutely contrary to the spirit of the Gospel. (Read John 4:24)
Don't be tricked by those false man-made doctrines (catholic&orthodox)
I have read those passages. As for John 6:35, Jesus says He is the bread of life! He is! How does that imply a symbolic Eucharist? Luke 22...Greek ἀνάμνησις. Respond to that. 1 Cor 11:26? How does that imply symbolism?
Orthodox Christians don't use wafers...we use leavened bread.
I DO NOT CARE WHAT ROME DOES. I AM NOT IN COMMUNION WITH ROME.
Dude, you didn't respond to any of my arguments btw. Ignatius? What about the Greek ἀνάμνησις? 1 Corinthians 10:16 and 11:26?
I'm beginning to think that you simply are incapable of responding to the arguments I'm presenting. You are a fundy Protestant, and have been fed total nonsense and have never heard powerful arguments against it. I'm a former Protestant. I converted to Orthodoxy because I saw the historical and biblical truth of the Holy Orthodox Church.
@KabaneTheChristian ..listen friend, english is my 3.rd language and it's very exhausting for me arguing/debating in it (finding a proper text in english then copy-paste....etc) it really takes a long time and my full concentration./ if you know croatian or hungarian language, it would be much easier for me./ understand?
btw. orthodox catholics have very much in common with roman cath. (doctrinaly)!
Yes, we have more in common with the papist heretics than we do with Protestant heretics.
ha- you don't care for the teachings of the fathers? Funny, considering that it is the fathers who copied the biblical books and decided the canon of Scripture. So if you don't like the fathers, you have no canon of Scripture. Oh, and the father I gave you was directly taught by John the Apostle. LOL at you thinking you know apostolic teaching better than Ignatius!
When Christ said to eat His body and drink His blood He was speaking figuratively, not literally. The Book of John also says "unless a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Does this mean we need to be pushed out of our mother's womb again? Of course not. That would be impossible. Christ offered His body and blood on the cross for us. He wants us to accept His body and blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.
Christ is not present in the eucharist. He died once and for all 2000 years ago. Christ said "it is finished." Hebrews....."So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. . . ."
Oh for heavens sake. The Eucharist is not a re-sacrifice of Christ. Rather, it gives people the means to participate in the once and for all sacrifice of Christ
(1 Corinthians 10:16-17) The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
you are welcome. Please share with everyone you know. I believe Jesus "sent" that song to me to remind everyone that He is still here among us in THe Eucharist. thanks for your comment &God Bless, mare

transubstantiation or dogma of flesh and blood of Jesus...all the same, only playing with the words!
if you like believing in apsurdities, not recognizing such an obvious idolatry, just do it.
it's your right and your choice, too.
i'm sorry... cannot help you...
