@MCfilms13 Because on all wooden roller coaster at the top of all the peaks there is an anit rool back system, due to the way wooden coasters are built.
@MCfilms13 They have a safety system close to the crest of every hill on almost every wooden coaster (and some steel ones) to prevent it from rolling back. You know that clicking sound that you hear when your going up a chain lift? Thats the safety system.
@MCfilms13 It has anti-rollbacks. That's the clanking sound you hear when going up the lift hill. Those things are all over, but you almost only hear then on the lift hill. Some coasters don't use these though, like kingda-ka (imagine trying to get those people out!)
One of the most b-r-l-l-i-a-n-t coaster videos captured live as it happened. Its almost like you made a deal with the ride operators to ask them to "stop the coaster at the turn-around" so you could be there filming at the exact moment! One cannot get a shot like this in a Hollywood production unless they used a small hand built prop to do so. This is pure gold for a coaster {wooden} fanatic like myself. I thank you coasterzeke and I thank your camera as well. You rock,
it was more of a case that yeah, I knew I was recording when I was running the camera, but then I did a lot of video clips of the people being evacuated & it wasn't until later that evening when I remembered that I was pretty sure I got the clip of when it happened.
Man that's an odd kinda stuck my friend wants the coaster 2 get stuck at the top XDD idk y but a rollback like this... i thought the train wud've rolled bak
This is really rare because the train caught the rollbacks NOT on the lift... there are rollbacks on certain parts of wooden rides in case the train doesnt have enough momentum, like in this video...the train might have had a bad wheel or something
And I was just telling my cousin about the Anti Roll-backs yesterday while riding Grizzly and explaining that if the power were to go out or something (on the lift) then the 'saw teeth' keeps the train from falling back down.
Catching that on camera is LUCK on your side. Nice job! Wonder what cause that to happen? Still, Hades looks like an awesome ride nonetheless and I'd like to ride it sometime.

Yeah I worked there for a summer in 08 and I'm pretty sure that it got stuck more than 5 times but on the first big incline before going under.
19lotuselise82 2 months ago
@19lotuselise82 There is no big incline aside from the lift hill before going under, that is the first drop.

Every coaster with a lift hill has anti rollbacks.
Get your facts right peoples.
DudeDie222 5 months ago
did the anti roll back brakes malfunction and thats why that happened or was it just a coincidence of wind and train weight?
CoasterFreak118 5 months ago
why didnt it rollback?

@6flgslover I think the train as a anti-rollback system or something...Like it blocks the wheels when it starts to go backwards or something >____>

@sUUpErC00W there are spikes on the track that mesh with spikes in the car. thats why it makes a ratcheting sound

Yeah it's called an anti-rollback. That's why they're there lol, to keep trains from rolling back. Nice capture by the way.

DANG. You got lucky capturing this, haha.
And lol at the guy in the front row with his hands up, as he casually puts them down once stuck.

How was the train able to balance like that? Wouldn't it fall backwards?

There is a chain lift at the very top which must have stopped it. If you watch a POV, you can see it.
