@fantasysoul5 They do to some extent. The release of Malice in certain tower in Shadow Hearts: Covenant triggered the events of the 3rd game. There are some others like vampire character in ur party that always has "Valentine" family name and they are connected to eachother. But if you haven't played the first 2, you really might have to. The main character in the 2 first games is called Yuri Hyuga and he is B-A-D-A-S-S. Other than that the first 2 Shadow Hearts have way better story than SH3.
@fantasysoul5 Also the first 2 games can be taken seriously unlike the 3rd that seems to have continuous comedy spree on for most time. But like I said I also like the 3rd game cause it's the funniest game ever and it has awesome music and battle system.
@fantasysoul5 I would definitely recommend this game if you're used to RPGs where all dialogue is in text format. There are some FMVs too though. This game has a really good storyline, great soundtrack, likeable characters and one of my favorite villains. It's pretty dark and can be a bit creepy at times though. I would recommend this game and the sequel Shadow Hearts: Covenant in this series. I like the 3rd game myself but not nearly everyone else.
@SinfulOcelot yea I've played a little bit of the 3rd one and it seemed okay, does the 1st and 2nd game have anything to do with the 3rd

Actually the graphics are the less great about this game. Though they're good enough for me. It's on PS2 so the standards are a bit higher.
