E.B.'s animators have severly reduced the impact of your lab tests. At 2:40 into the video, we should expect to see the .9 dB bar as many times taller than the .11 dB bar but it only appears marginally taller (90 cents is many times greater than 11 cents). And why is the .11 bar taller than the .13 bar? Marketing would do very well to make some corrections here.

All the talk is interesting, but I was disappointed that none of the demo videos had a simple A/B test with the same guitar/amp/settings, once with standard nickel and then with cobalt. Of course these guys are going to sound great. Their opinion is nice but I'd rather actually hear it- without having to run the test myself. Also, they're saying these feel smoother and slinkier- what's their tension compared to nickel wound? Would those of us with floating trems need to adjust?
@ernieballinc awesome! however, the lot of us 7-stringers wouldn't use anything lower than a .60 for a low B. so a .56 wouldn't cut imo (i use a .70 for a low G/G#). but yea, ill be waiting for the singles heavier gauges,
@ernieballinc Is there, or will there ever be a skinny top heavy bottom version of these? Because I love the combo of the heavier and heartier bottom strings but the fluidity and ease of the skinny top strings.
Our strings are in no way radioactive or carcinogenic. Cobalt alloys are used for a variety of applications including tooling, knee and hip replacements, jewelry, and guitar pickups. Our Cobalt Strings are a proprietary blend of both Iron and Cobalt.
Just one question about these strings...is an alloy of pure cobalt...because if you expose so much to this any one can have cancer , that's my only question i have....
You should stop being such a smug prick, no one demanded anything other than Feel, durability and Sound (the only thing they can provide in a commercial)
given the fact that youtube uses COMPRESSED audio, even in higher definitions, and you are using sub standard speakers, there is absolutely no point is demoing the strings at all. This is something that HAS to be heard first hand. Don't like it, tuff. The world doesn't bend to your whims. This is interesting enough to justify a $10 experiment. You really should stop demanding that other people hold your damn hand in everything.
I'll give them a try, but putting up a video without audio is like someone describing a painting instead of just showing you. And from the amount of braggin' and bs'ing in the video, the only reason not to let you listen is because it makes little to no difference. There aren't too many things in this world a musician will buy just because they were told to. Well, other than Gibson slaves.
@Batmaniak7 It's ten dollars ffs :P .. just pick up a pack and find out for yourself [in the room] in person - just how much nuance and feel are you gonna "pick up" from hearing a demo on a video...?
this is no joke cats. i was lucky enough to get one of the first sets of bass strings, and they are totally wicked. its not a small difference whatsoever. I've got one set on a game changer. all my other basses are getting dusty, hahah. way to go brian ball. you nailed it.
@nochix96isnuts Craig is one of the artists, along with Tony Levin, Randy Jackson, etc who was given the strings in testing and feedback was used in the making of the strings. Look him up....he's got lots of recordings to his credit. Cheers.
Can talk about it all you want, but would really like to of heard them being played. Also maybe 1 guitar played then the same model guitar with the cobalts. I look forward to grabbing a pair though and giving them a shot!
just got them! they rock!

@nokie2 The lab results shown at 2:40 do not contain any decimals. The graph reads -9, -11, and -13 dB which are all line level output measurements.

Isn't cobalt a lot harder than nickel? Won't these wear my frets faster. It takes a lot of strings to add up to a $300 refret. I'll pass thanks.

Awkward that Stainless Steel appears to have less output than Nickel, usually it's the exact contrary
