@grimcity. Oh ya man will do, I've been watching your videos for a little wile and I must say your skating has the most soul I've ever seen, I'll miss the A but Theres no place like home
Anyone know how to do those 3 lines on the griptape? just like what he did with his but 3 smaller lines? idk, i've seen alot of people do those, and I just want to try doing that. (:
Hey Toga, all you have to do it cut the grip first, then apply it in sections. I've seen some people get really creative, making all sorts of geometric shapes and designs. Just get artsy and grab some scissors and you're gold! Cheers!
@grimcity but what if you don't cut it perfect? what if it's like.. slanted or something? like, not straight? will that mess up the small line itself ? can you create a video ? or is that too much to ask? thanks for answering my comment ! :D nice skating also.
Shoes on the bed??? Mother would throw a fit! But yo Neal a little geo question for ya is Covington near Hammond I hear it is just lookin to clear up some rumers cause I'm movin out of the ATL and back to the boot who dat!
The shoes: it's cool, I was in a hotel on work and that's how I wile' out! haha! But yeah man, Covington is SUPER close to Hammond! It's only about 15 minutes from here... a lot of the cats I skate with are from there... plus there are some pretty killer spots hidden away out there. Holler at me when you make the move!
@grimcity DEAR GRIMCITY, I KNOW THIS WILL SOUND WEIRD BUT I AM LITERALLY ADDICTED TO YOUR VIDEOS. I GET HOME FROM SCHOOL WATCH ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS AND GO SKATE. I LOVE YOU (NO HOMO) AND YOUR VIDS SO KEEP MAKIN EM AND SKATIN
Hey grim, just wanted to say that this was the latest video from you when I first started skating and watching vids on the youtubes...also, do you know where I can get smaller companies boards besides zumiez and sketchy online stores? I have a local shop but they don't have shop boards all year, only July-November(I live in Iowa and only have two indoor parks, both 2 hours away), and I'm not old enough to have an actual job.
Give the guy an email, you never know! I definitely enjoyed the way the board skated and felt, and it took a really good beating (as most of my skating, like hopefully everyone else's, is done off camera). Super good quality wood, and a good shape as well. I haven't talked to them since the review, but I hope they find some success... they're a legit skater-run crew, which is awesome to me.
the power balance thing actually works. idk how well it would work in a skateboard but if you watch some of the tests it works. ive also had it done in person and was amazed with the results
It's a placebo effect that has been going around for years.
It's physically impossible for a hidden hologram to have an effect on you. It's equally as impossible for a visible hologram to have an effect on you, unless it's a CD or a DVD that you like to listen to.
Holograms can store digital data, but you need a digital means to access that data. Have you noticed how they pretty much always give the exact same test over and over? First time they put weight on you (cont)
...you don't know what to expect (as far as how hard the guy is going to press). The second time, you're mentally and physically preparing yourself for an expected amount of weight to be applied to you, so you fare better.
But to be clear: these holograms have no physiological effect on you whatsoever. Google "hologram scams" and see how widely they've been used and been around.
dude the "rocker" is called the dips im not hating its just called the dips and the sharper it is the more pop and the better manafactured it is because the transition is harder and has been put under enough pressure to get that bend which means the plies are compressed even more so it is a better pop and better all around deck
In the board manufacturing industry, the "rocker" is called the rocker.. at least since 1987, but probably since the first kicktails.
The steepness doesn't mean the board is better or worse, it's just the end result of the concave and the nose/tail eventually meeting. With different concaves and different tails and nose dimensions, the steepness of the rocker varies.
Usually, the boards themselves are based on the quality of the wood, & type of glues used.
Man i love your videos, your a great guy man, keep up the great work man keep shredding! :And dude this is funny idk if anyone else thinks this but doesnt it look like hes in a hotel at the beginning of his vids sometimes :D
the paradox grip is ok, but it doesnt really feel different from a sheet of Shorty's black magic. But i just need to find out the way to order that sweet deck.
@skatedblind247 It wasn't warped at all, and I did indeed mis identify the nose and tail in that one segment, no graphics up top and I was concentrating on what I was saying too much. No biggy, everything was factually accurate about the equipment.
Hey Bobby... check out Urban 9 on government street... my friend Reno owns it and it's the longest running shop in BR. It's also close to downtown, which is GREAT for street skating. BR's new concrete park (Perkins and Kenilworth) will probably be ready to skate soon as well.
As far as the bearings, I just review what's sent to me... I'll see if our shop had anything. Cheers!
The Power/Balance thing is the same supposed tech found in the Power/Balance brand watches. Their claim is that a particular frequency is stored in a "hologram" (a little plastic dot), which is then put on the product (watches, stickers, shoes, etc.), which somehow aligns your own frequencies, giving you greater strength and balance. If you're convinced it works, it might actually help you. Placebo effect ftw!
I like my local shop's decks, because we use really great wood, and because I like to rep our shop. I tend to ride Spitfire wheels and I always have a setup with either Real, Anti Hero, or Krooked mounted and ready to skate.
On my street board I ride Indy lows, and though they aren't the lightest trucks in the world, I don't find them to be too heavy... I ride Koston mids on my bowl rider, and don't notice it there either, but my bowl rider setups are heavy to begin with (big board, big wheels, etc).
I think the preference goes into what we each look for in a truck... I don't really go for light trucks per-say, I prefer a good turn and overall "feel" when it's all set up. It's all personal tastes, y'know? Cheers!
I can assure you, the gy is 100% serious. I've completely called him out on his claims a few times, but I think he may be clinically insane. Seriously.
Googlecow?? Can I have the definition, please? Lol!! Keep doing what you're doing and all skaters and non skaters watching your vids will know their shit up and down!!
I just got a free roll of Paradox from Mr. paradox himself off of the Slap forums. Do you think they might start selling this at local skateshops cause it would be much nicer seeing this handed to you then Mob.
Good question, man. I don't think many skater-owned shops would pick it up based on the holo-jock technology, though it might be appealing to one of those horrid chain stores or mailorder (it just seems like the niche for that kind of stuff).

No Mob is probably the best grip tape you can buy now a days. I just think the paradox logo looks cool so it would be cooler if they gave you Paradox. Or maybe a Paradox stencil on Mob grip. hah.
Yeah. I hate those kids that walk around the mall and are like, "Zumiez or die!." And the shoes they sell there are like multi colored and ridiculous.
Nah, I don't want to turn this into a job. I really just like sharing it, you know? No ads, no hassle. I'm all for people doing it, I just like doing these for the sake of doing them, you know? Thanks homie!
Ha, thanks or the kind words... I'm just a skate nerd that talks a lot. I'm truly hyped on all of the people on YT that I've met (via comments/messaging), it's good enough for me. Hows the skating in the heat down in Louisiana? I'm way up in Michigan and some days the heat just gets unbearable; I can't imagine what its like down there..
It makes it hard to breath... super thick, hot air. Nothing worse than taking a shower, then stepping outside just to immediately break into sweat. You get used to it, but you feel like you have a lead weight on. Evening sessions are a lot easier to handle though.
