  • This game was obviously based off of a Japanese game. The reason for it to be called Die Hard because of references to the movie. The male character is named Bruno Delinger (AKA Mr. Dynamite) *not* John McClane (though he's based off of McClane). I only played this game the one time at a bowling alley somewhere. Not the best fighting adventure game, but still good.

  • Powerstone anyone?

  • I remember playing this in Pizza Hut

  • this vid brought back some memorys. good times

  • lol I loved this also but I could not help but think the whole Die Hard connection was kind of dumb I mean the only reason they called it that was because this game was obivously set in a highrise building, I just laff thinking of the prospect of John McClane grabbing a guy by his legs and spinning him round like at 0:27 LMAO!! who cares though it was fun, loads of weapons and moves! ahh good times.

  • to be an underrated game is a masterpiece

  • Lol wow...I just watched the first 40 seconds of the vid and...am I the only one who thinks his throw moves are VERY similar to the DOA2 moves? Anyways, cool stuff.

  • @PrinceXTC86

actually the fighting engine is taken straight off of Virtua Fighter, a fighting game series that grandfathered ALL 3d fighting games including DOA.

  • save your quarters for the laundromat i remember the tagline

  • This game was the only reason why i wanted a sega saturn instead of a N64 for christmas that year!!

  • If any of you guys played this then you're pretty cool in my book

  • this game is funny as fuck. i remember late nights staying up with friends playing that mini game to get more credits.

  • What is this a wrestling game? Did I get the wrong video or something? :P

  • Yippie Kye Yay Muthafucka.

  • i miss my saturn :(

  • 2:40 I'd say it's about time.... to clean his clock.

  • thumbs up for a die hard arcade remake ps3 xbox

  • hey guys, im trying to find an arcade beat em up that came out around 2002 or 2003. it was a 4 player beat em up. any leads?

  • I owned this game. Took me forever to beat, but there's a battleship minigame in the ttile screen that gives you up to 99 lives, and you'll need all of them to win. Die Hard was so over-the-top insane...

  • @Zenstudent105 uh yea i maxed on lives and went co-op and didnt die much. at the end u and ur partner have to fight each other to use them up. we had about 80. we just turned it off after that.

  • They used to have this at yogi bear park in the Wisconsin Dells. This might be my favorite arcade game of all time!!! I loved how you could pick up most items and use them as weapons. I want more games like that!!!!

  • what's a good place to get virus free roms for Saturn?

  • @cuchanu coolroms .com

  • this game had sooo many fighting moves you could do. I remember gamepro mag. released a list of moves you could do when it first came out and it was like over 50 different moves you could do.

  • @drewske1984 yep, as demonstrated at 1:52.

  • this game was great...but also short.

  • you are totally right about am1 btw. they really knew how to tap the saturns potential in graphics. take a look at decathlete/athlete kings and winter heat. amazing! graphics. better than anything on psx back then.

  • i tremember getting a sega sasturn for x mas think i was bout 11 or 12, and my dad coming in and saying, fuck me the it almost looks real lol. amazing how far graphics have come

  • lol those are great moments

  • They had this at my local theater, every time I went to a movie I'd play this with my brother. Great game!

As far as a Die Hard rom, ever heard of google?

  • I remember seeing this in an arcade, and wishing I had a couple quarters.

  • hardcore game but amazing graphics for a saturn hell no.

  • Omg I used to love playing this game pumping quarters in the arcade when I was a kid, playing with my friend was even more fun, awesome combos!

  • Oh man I think I know an arcade in my town that has this game!

  • i love the game, but i only had the demo :'(

  • this game was awsome!! sega saturn was good at the time!! better than ps1 !! shame saturn failed :(

  • @1nicelad

    you son of bitch

  • @1nicelad Sega fanboy...

  • @1nicelad It probably failed because most people reckoned that it wasn't even close to the PS1 and so it sold more than all of its rivals?

  • Dis was my fav arcade game. Dey should remake it.

  • The quick reaction sequences look pretty cool- very advanced for such an early game!

  • Cool you can arrest terrorists on the ground and hold enemies hostage to! Somebody should make an online flash version of this- it would be amazing!

  • whos blondie at the beginning?

nice movie BTW brings back good memories

  • This was the fukin greatest

  • What do reviewers mean when they say chuncy charecter models.

  • Like, blocky.

  • This is the best music even though it sounds like it was done with midi.

  • It's really exactly the same as the one in the arcade! Theres no difference at all! In South africa we have an old arcade place at Gateway in Durban. It's there and I still have this game for SAT. I've never seen a 3D saturn arcade thats exactly the same as the arcades for Saturn. Only this.

  • are you sure? because i remember the game handling a little better but then again that could be due to not having a arcade stick and also are you sure that looked the same becuase model 2 was able to handle 300,000 texture mapped polygons where as the sega saturn was only able to handle about 200,000 texture mapped polygons but then again the game might have not took full advantage of the model 2 hardware or it was made the STV platform

  • I bought a Sega Satun specifically to buy this game!

  • this is die hard the movie die hard ?? john mcclane??! i would love to play as him

  • It's actually a Japanese game called Dynamite Deka that they rebranded Die Hard Arcade for the West to appeal to Westerners.

  • Madworld and Spike-out before they dropped lol!! this game is classic.

  • Dude I Used to play this friggin game on saturdays after ccd oh my god along with Alien Vs Predator Arcade

  • I used to love this game...

  • This looks like a prequel for Dynamite Cop (Dynamite Deka)! Clearly where they got the inspiration when they put that game out two years later.

  • who's player 2? holly?

  • Firemen have something against policemen...

  • hit continue dick!! WHAT THE FRICK!!!YOUVE GOT 2 CREDITS LEFT!!!

  • "die hard"? this game supose to be like that movie? looks.....verry weird and too different.

  • This game ate up my quarters faster than a fat kid eats cake

  • same, but mine's like a fat guy and cake XD

  • Haha me too. I don't remember playing much else in the arcade. I loved this game.

  • i beat this many times as a kid on my saturn remember having to play that stupid submerine game to get continues but now the game looks like the stuff that comes out of my asshole

  • I remember playing this on arcade.

  • reminds me of dynamite cops on the dreamcast.

  • That's the sequel to this game.

And let me be frank: that game had nothing on this one.

  • molto bello

  • This game was fun. Easy but fun.

  • 6:39 - 6:44 the music reminded me of how star wars sounded on snes lol

  • DUDE thank you for this! I used to have this game and played it like crazy. I love the end where you *spoilers* have to fight each other! awesomeness. I'm gonna try to find this game and buy it again.

  • whan i was a kid i played this game with my brother on the arcade, and we finished it!a croud of other kids were gadered around us watching XD

  • no wonder. this game is pretty fuckin hard.

  • it is for a 7 and 10 year old,plus we needed many coins,about 20 coins XD

  • When me and my brother played this in the arcade it froze and the machine started making a loud noise... so we ran.. . . True Story.

  • same experience, sorta. i was playing mario kart arcade and i almost won, then the "system check, please wait" screen came up, and the game restarted. i was po'ed.

  • this game was so fucken badass, i remember playing this with my unlce at the bowling alley when i was like 10 lol, fucken quality m8

  • I still love this game! Is this a rom you're playing on? If so whered you get it or can you email it to me?

  • i use to play this game at the theaters all the time

  • Yup, I always had to play as the blonde guy though....

  • i use to play this game at round

    table.

  • for me its one of the best beat em ups ever, its still making lots of fun

  • lol! i used to play this in the laundromat! id make that quarter last!

  • haha the cop looks like joe from family guy before he was crippled

  • zzzz

  • they shit on every beat em up that comes out

  • does this game have anything to do with the movie?

  • Loosely, not... T.T

  • :cough: dynamite cop :cough:

  • :cough: dynamite cop :cough:

  • :cough: dynamite cop :cough:

  • cough cough sequel and shit.

  • ive never played this before but it looks impressive. they could've used this as a blueprint for streets of rage 4 but that never happened or ever will.

  • This is such a classic.

  • I can remember playing this all the time in the arcade. I especially love the music at 5:35

  • if you beat the game with 2 players the ending is kinda weird

  • nice for an old game very nice

  • ...whoa

  • sexy girl at 1:39

  • this game is awesome mix of final fight and virtua fighter!

  • Apparently this is were Dynamite Cop on Dreamcast got their idea

  • uh, you are aware that DHA is the prequel to Dynamite Cop? and the person who made this game (Makoto Uchida) is also responsible for Golden Axe and Altered Beast.

  • still play it on my saturn once in awhile.great game to come back to after all these years.they just dont make beat em' ups like this anymore.

  • ok.... the gameplay looks way too much like wwf no mercy on the n64

but that's a good thing i'm just surprised that's all

  • I love this game I remember playing this with my cousin in an arcade. I love this so much I am getting a saturn for my b-day Its one of the main reasons I want it

  • I like the music in this game as well.

  • Awesome arcade game.

  • it's the one of best game of saturn!

  • I wanted a Sega Saturn solely for this game.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! I love it and I'll play it agail if I can get my Saturn to work!

  • WOW! My favourite coin game - I spent much of them on it.

  • This is still my all time favourite side-scrolling beat-em-up. I loved the co-op. :)

  • Fantastic video God I miss this game it kicks all ass.

  • wwe nypd

  • This game was the shit. Too bad few people remember it.

Although, it's not totally dead. Games like Zombie's Revenge and Dynamite Cop are pretty much ports of this classic with different levels.

  • nice vid. check out my review of this game plz

  • love this game i think its as good as double dragon any day

shame it runs really jerky on mame and the sound is messed up

theres a remake on the ps2 but i dont think it will comeout in the uk or the us

  • not your average cop huh?

  • i still have it on my saturn and love it

  • We used to play the shit outta this game. It freaking kicked so much ass!!!

  • Pretty garbage graphics. It looks kinda fun, but no Streets of Rage 2.

My friend has just bought it, so I'll be trying it for myself soon. Hope it's a fun as it looks!

  • Oh and that music is dire.

    Please be a good game..!

  • OH MY GOD!! I absolutely LOOOOOOOVVEEEEED this game... I think I still got it somewhere, now I wanna play die hard with my sister (she absolutely pwnzed at that game)

thank you, you have reminded me of a beautiful part of my childhood...

  • Do you mean the chick in the pink dress or the girl you can play as?

  • who was the chick in this game?

  • 0:29 Mcain's acting like Virtua Fighter Wolf LOL!!.

  • you deserve my respect for that comment, you know what the original virtual fighter is, chapeau...

  • I don't think mclain would hurt one of the hottest girls in a video game ever (the cute one in the pink dress/skirt with the heels and leather) either.. Well I wouldn't. I'd just stand there going "omg.. wow" then she'd slap me to the ground and laugh. True facts.

  • It seems weird seeing "McClane" Doing a bulldog to those guys at the beginning. lol

I've been looking for this game everywhere and I can't find it. And everythime I have a chance to get it off ebay I don't have any money

  • Sorry I was "LMAO" at the guy who said "hahaha i remember this game, was awsome!.. i remember playin it with my bro and it crashed in teh arcade and made a relly bad noise.. hha we just ran away from it!"

    LOL

  • I did a seach and found this interesting info: Another aborted attempt at Streets of Rage 4 was apparently Die Hard Arcade, a 3D Streets of Rage style game released in the arcades on Sega's S-TV system.

  • hahaha i remember this game, was awsome!.. i remember playin it with my bro and it crashed in teh arcade and made a relly bad noise.. hha we just ran away from it!

  • LMAO!

  • This has very little to do with the movie

  • this takes place years after the movie. but you still play as Mcclane in the game.

  • even though it looks like it, DHA has some things, aside from John McClane's similar look to Bruno Delinger (the original name used in Dynamite Deka), some spots in the building have the Nakatomi Plaza logo

  • dynamite cop was a remake of this with a few changes

  • Actually, Die Hard Arcade was made in Japan with the title, Dynamite Deka. Dynamite cop was really the sequel to Die Hard Arcade having the title Dynamite Deka 2, which was also made in Japan.

  • dynamite cop was the sequel

  • no way i use to love this game so much when i was little. thanx

  • Can u show the whole game??

  • Guys please help how do I get mame to work with this game or at all?

  • That chick in the pink skirt and leather is kinda hot.. :$

  • How do I get this to work on MAME?!!!

  • To get to work you first need to (ST-V) bios with google search can than when your done the download you have to put the extract file in your roms file with the actual die hard arcade rom as well

  • I did that except when I did It came up with this thing saying that your not aloud to play it because I don't Live In The USA. I I live in Australia. Whats Going On.

  • Actually AM#1 I would say was better known for the gameplay each of there games had which kicked all ass! Some of their games were really graphically good though. You should do Dynamite Cop next, that game was really great.

  • i remember the mage but i don't remember the name was die ward?

  • I'm wondering how the hell do you get it on mame without slowdown?

  • i get this hardware error problem problem, but every single 3d game i play for mame works full speed or not at all

  • this is exactly like the one on mame

  • that's because the arcade board (ST-V) is based on the sega saturn hardware.

  • yeah, i know.i just wanted to say.
