"Cloud of unknowing"? This woman is obviously heavily indoctrined, she has obviously had her mind "clouded" with these popular false teachers.
wikipedia :
"The Cloud of Unknowing (Middle English: The Cloude of Unknowyng) is an anonymous work of Christian mysticism written in Middle English in the latter half of the 14th century. The text is a spiritual guide on contemplative prayer in the late Middle Ages."
Look up the term "Spiritual Formation", "Centering Prayer" and the "Emergent Church" ...
It teaches the eastern mysticism of the founder of the Jesuits Ignatius Loyola. This concept of "solitude" came from the "desert fathers" or the early monastics who practiced the unbiblical methodology of trying to get closer to God by removing themselves from the world. Christ instead taught often how to treat others and how it relates to our love of God
Given the following verses, why don't you encourage people to spend more time meditating on the word, which is truth, which is likened to a hedge of protection, instead of instructing people to look within and listen to what their own deceitful hearts are telling them?
This is the problem with this Spiritual Formation and Emergent Church movement, they focus on "feeling" or "experiencing" God rather than getting to know him through His Word.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" -Jeremiah 17:9
"For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." -James1:23-25
Your videos about journaling are wonderful. Journaling on scripture off and on for years has been a formative experience for me. In the format I use I complete the sentence, "Right now I believe God wants me to..." It was months before I realized that completing that one sentence was helping me set daily growth goals. Huge help and yet so simple. Thanks, John Arnold
