  • sad as it is i HATE to admit I am going thru this right now with my son ............ this video does soooo much to keep me going ... tysm

  • I showeth this parable, the story and word of our savior, to my brother. Nay, he did not rebuketh at his son's reaction. He only shed the tear of the the boy who was dead, and is reborned. A boy who was lost and now is found. Remember this parable my friends and thy path to the Lord is clear and nigh and thy path to destruction closeth. Amen.

  • This song is so moving. When I saw this film yesterday, in Sanctuary Asian Christian Service it did two things for me. One it reminded me of a film that a Mental Health survivors made and 2. the words fit this film. It's about unconditional love, forgiveness, loss, grief.

  • Brilliant. Thank you.

  • hi,i downloaded ur vid and changed the song... i didn't yet uploaded here in youtube,,is it ok to edit ur vid?

  • Wow, this was really good. You guys practically made me cry.

  • I love this video the music well suites it and it makes me cry when I watch it. a truly amazing video!

  • 4 people have no heart.

  • the only reason im watching this shit is soo i can get my stupid homework done!!!! thumbs up if your doing the same

  • I love it!!! We're going to use it this Sunday for Worship.

The song fits. Fix You by Coldplay. I cryed when I watched the video, because I think we have all been there in our lifes.

    Good Job!

  • I really like the music to the film in the beginning. However, I lost track of the lyrics starting from 4:07. Can I please have the name of the band and the name of the song? At the end of the day, I really like your idea on adapting the Bible story prodigal son into a modern, real life story!!

  • @joyzer100 "Fix You" by Coldplay

  • Comment removed

  • The film is fantastic and really brings the parable to life. The music/song undermines it - its very intrusive and dosen't really relate to the story. Could you remake this movie with some different, more suitable music or no music?

  • @scotsit I am not going to change a piece of work i made for you just because you don't like the song. if you don't like it, don't watch it.

  • @bmxrider1382 wow. it was just a suggestion to help improve your video. if you dont agree with it you dont have to get so defensive about it

  • @bmxrider1382 that's a bit harsh...he was complimenting you, at least say thank you. Looks like you are the older brother!

  • @scotsit - song doesn't retract anything from the video; beauty is in the eye of the beholder... this actually moved me to tears - beautiful job... this was incorporated into a message you can watch online at

    whchurch.org/blog/1905/god-is-waiting

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont "beauty is in the eye of the beholder..."

True, like how people like you call mass genocide and infanticide 'loving', and slavery and rape must be beautiful.

  • @humanistheart - I ususally heed the advice: "don't feed the trolls" but, ok, I'll bite...

    oh please, do go on...

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont Says the person who love genocide.

  • @humanistheart - you have no idea what you are mocking or saying no to. This video illustrates a God who loves unconditionally, to the point of death on a cross - the most horrible and painful torturous way to die - this self-sacrificial love was done even for (indeed especially for) you. God is madly in love with you and you mock Him. Sad, really.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont "This video illustrates a God who loves unconditionally,"

Do anything I don't like and be tortured forever his as far away from unconditionally as it gets.

"the most horrible and painful torturous way to die "

You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @humanistheart - the syntax/grammar is a little awkward here, and I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but if you mean: "if I'm a bad boy then God gets to torture me in hell forever..." then I would agree with you, and I would not want anything to do with a God like that either.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont Hardly, if anything it's the other way round. If you are a good person, he will torture you. For example if you don't kill homosexuals, you're breaking his law.

"and I would not want anything to do with a God like that either. "

Yet, you worship that concept of god. So you seem to contradict yourself.

  • @humanistheart - if you're talking about Levitical law, diet restrictions, and other areas of the Old Testament, i admit, that at times God's wrath seems to be heavy-handed in light of His character being fully revealed in Jesus Christ. Careful study and contextual application of ideas, understanding writing tools like hyperbole brings much more understanding to this. I am NOT to kill anyone, homosexuals included but I am to love everyone, unconditionally, even die for them

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont That's not in the biblical scriptures, if you're no killing, your breaking his laws.

  • @humanistheart - actually it is in the scriptures, and it is the central theme of the whole NT it's really sad that you miss the whole point.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont Then by all means show where the laws of the Torah are explicitly said to no longer be valid. Bottom line, do what I say or suffer is not love.

  • @humanistheart Galatians 3:25 - Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont I understand that I am under grace, not law, because Jesus dwells in me, and I in Him, so I am no longer subject to the law. i absolutely do not expect you to understand this. Tlhe bible tells me that the good news (the gospel) and the cross is "foolishness" to those who don't believe...

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont "Tlhe bible "

    Fictional concept.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont Then all your arguing is there is no law you're under, bravo. That's really helpful.

  • @humanistheart - now, for those who think they have the freedom to drink excessively and cause ascites or cirrhosis, to have the "freedom" to use drugs until it causes death by severe respiratory depression or cardiovascular collapse, then yes the warnings about trying to live a Godly life certainly has its metits, doesn't it? Again, my point is that the punishment and destruction brought on is done by ourselves and inherent in the behaviour, it ain't God "spankin' " us...

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont Jesus drank all the time, good luck with that.

Really, so who created hell? People? Well, yes because it's not real, but in your fictional religion?

  • @humanistheart The Bible does warn against engaging in foolish arguments so I will no longer respond to any of your ridiculous and immature comments. For someone so superior, why to you usse the plural versions of words like "bases" for the singular basis and "emphases" for the singular emphasis? I should think someone so gifted and superior would know better.... and why all the anger? who, or what hurt you that you feel you have to lash out so much and so vehemently?

  • really, what is your agenda? I evangelize for Christ because I know He is the way, the truth and the light, & when people surrender to him theri lives are transformed to something beautiful, and become more loving, caring and other-centered . Please tell me, when you evangelize for atheism, whatdoes that accomplish? how does that improve anyone's life? Do they become happpy and fulfilled like yourself, spending countless hours on the internet engaging in childish arguments

  • so, like i said dude, I'm done. So you can rant, put forth your baseless arguments and preach your gospel(?) to any fool who will listen to you, but you do so at your own peril. I will pray for you, to a God who loves you so much He died for you...good day, sir.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont There's no such thing as 'the bible', so something that doesn't exist warns you? Good luck with that.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont the bible do warn fools like you.

  • @humanistheart my boy. Thy Lord will convert thee.

  • @thendisnigh1 Could you have said anything dumber?

  • @humanistheart When thou is at the bed of the death. Ye will shed tear as the father in the story hath. Convet now, before it is too late on the hands on death.

  • @thendisnigh1 I see,so you can say even dumber things.

  • @humanistheart For I tell ye now, ye will brawl like a baby when you are at the hands of death for you knoweth that ye art going to h3ll.

  • @humanistheart my boy, the lord will show you the light even if you deny it. It will all come on judgement day. So prepare :)

  • @thendisnigh1 Your god doesn't exist kiddo, deal with it and grow as a human being.

  • @humanistheart Also I see no reference to the Torah there.

  • @rkbuttonindrydenont And as for the NT, it's even worse. Don't believe in me and suffer. That's conditional, and it has no justice or ethics in it at all.

  • @humanistheart - yes it is warning, given out of love. much like a parent would tell a child not to skip out in front of fast-moving traffic, the danger is inherent, not delivered by the parent

  • @scotsit The music & the message go together, LISTEN...

  • If you will come back to me I will come back to you says the Lord. Those who live in darkness remain in darkness, for men are lovers of the dark and do all kinds of things in this darkness to hide their true ways from others. For the truth in men shall bare their own wickedness. He came in Love, Compassion and Forgiveness to all. If he can do this then we can do this also. We are to ready for the Truth that is soon to be!! Peace be with you all.

  • I loved loved LOVED it <3 -And that song was so good :-)

  • we, western civilization, we are the prodigal son. we left the confines of the family of nature, and we made a hellish descent into intellectual limitation, into matter, into model-building that was deliberately self-limited (science, religion, politics, etc). a necessary precondition to our shedding of the theological misconceptions that occurred when male-dominance got a hold of the idea of religion, a lethal idea if practiced for too long.

  • Wonderful message and so very true. God's Grace never tires of the wait nor decreases by situation. Constant and sure.

  • It's a shame God doesn't exist.

  • Excellent video, keep up the work that side of the vineyard....see you guys soon in Heaven, God Bless you all.....This was truly a blessing to me.....

  • You guys did a great job on this video !! I am going to put it on my web site if that it okay ...reaching out to prodigals

  • this is a pretty vid :)

  • Sometimes we become very self-centered that life only revolves about ourselves - we cry out me, me, me poor me - we sit on that pity pot not realizing the hurt we've caused to other people, but realizing what we have done, we must then make our amends and ask for forgiveness because the greatest thing in the world is LOVE.

  • This speaks for almost everyone. We are The Prodigal Son. The Forgiving Father is God. Even if we turn away from Him, as long as we repent, and we are truly sorry for our sins, God forgives us. He is always waiting for out return.

  • Beautiful!

  • Beautiful!

  • This is a beautifully done little video. I especially like the way the Father RUNS to the son. I just recently realized that the Father RUNNING to the son is the central point of the story. God does not just accept us back, He RUNS to rescue us back.

  • What is the title of the soundtrack?

  • @ayrosorydz the name of the song is "fix you" by coldplay

  • wow!

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely wonderful! 10 stars!!! Greetings from Hong Kong, China!

  • Soundrack is great, we used it in worship.

  • you have captured the Fathers' heart here, which is just wonderful.

I recently read how that this parable should have been called " The parable of the Incredible Father" instead of " The parable of the prodigal son".

This book goes on to say that the central character is the father himself and Jesus used this story to paint a portrait of his Father.

  • Very, very good!

  • cool

  • Beutiful just beutiful thanks for sharing

  • we watched this in chapel last week!!! love it

  • There is no evil that the fathers love cannot pardon and cover; there is no sin that is a match for his grace.

  • Way to go Alex!! :D and Joel and Hunter! i was so proud of you when Bethel showed it in chapel!! =)

  • great inspriational piece,keep on ...

  • Because the more we behold His beauty, the more we become transformed to be like Him.

We become good and fulfil the laws UNCONSCIOUSLY. No one is able to keep the law by wanting to keep the law.

  • The younger son did not know what to expect, did not fulfil the law but he was shown Grace.

The elder son had hard thoughts about his father. He believed he had to fulfil the law and so he did. He did it not out of love but out of seeing thats the way it goes.

This is not saying, do bad things so one can be shown more grace.

This is See God in all His loveliness. Look to the one who freely gave, the one who loves, the stable one.

  • After Christs death on the cross, God is about kinship with us.

The father here is our Heavenly Father.

    Grace is unmerited, undeserving favor.

As our Father, he gives us grace. We dont have to get good with Him based on the Law.

  • yea my youth group is using this video too! Excellent job and Daddy bless all those who did this with more creativity to be used for His glory!

  • this video is great, i myself am a

christian, and im 13 years old hehe

  • great video. Thanks for sharing. God bless!

  • Great song choice and nice cinematography. Listen to Mat Kearney's song, "Fire And Rain. It's the story of the Prodigal Son from the father's point of view.

  • It was good, just wish you changed clothes after two years.

  • Very moving, I actually cried when they showed this at one of our church services. The song is "Fix You" by Coldplay.

  • Very nicely done, my church actually used it during a service. Can someone let me know the artist and song name for the music used? Thank you and enjoy all the blessings given to you from above!

  • an excellent production! i like the song too - wonder if you are producing any more of these high quality vids. It will definitely be a blessing to others. Creative plus!

  • Oh goodness this brought tears to my face.
