Captain Benton West - HERO... died in a car accident. Very sorry to hear this.

After some temporary repairs, this aircraft was flown to the repair station I used to work at. Most of us took time to go and look at it and marvel at the fact it landed safely. The video can't really show just how badly the aircraft had been beaten up. Definitley one of the most memorable things I saw when I worked as a mechanic.

I remember this. There were a couple of huge tornado warned supercells moving through North Georgia. They moved Southeast and even near my home in Gwinnett.

yep right after value jet became Airtran they started phasing them out for the newer 717's and 737's.

@darrenhenderson3 . It's actually ABC7 Chicago. I recorded the local news in Chicago the next day thinking it might be a story. I didn't expect it to lead the network news, too.
