Dude, a good PC has better graphics than Xbox 360 and PS3, and you can buy a controller for it if you really want to, but mouse and keyboard beats controller in precision, and that's a fact, now about the games, COD will always be expensive, but downloading games is more practical than getting a disc, you can lose a disc, it can break, etc. while you can download the game as many times as you want after purchasing it. PC's parts cost way to much. the catch is. by downloading more and more drivers/updates that you are forced to download your overall pc peformance will slowly be deterioring.. And honestly, there is nothing much you can do about it. Plus you will have to spend around 340.00$ and more if you even want to think about running todays games like BFBC3/Crysis with acceptable graphics. And who cares about steam, that program alwais fail. They even got hacked !

There are a lot of reasons your computer may be slowing down, most of those aren't related to PC Gaming. And where did you get this $340 price tag for a decent PC? While yes, PC's are initially more expensive, and, depending on what parts you bought, it could be a lot more expensive...

As for your comment on running modern games, it's quite easy to run both of two games you mentioned. Yes, modern-day toasters will have problems running them, but I built my desktop a few years ago with parts from 08/09...

A quick check on system requirements lab says I'm well above the recommended requirements for Crysis 1/2. I can also run Skyrim flawlessly on medium settings, which, by looking at videos of the console versions, looks much better than it's console counterpart...

the problem with consoles is that they are way behind in terms of technology, which is annoying, because multiplatform titles don't use anywhere near the potential a good gaming PC has. And programming for PC only is too expensive, because they can't sell enough copies on PC only. The problem is, that good gaminghardware is very expensive, which a lot of people can't afford.
