  • Ive seen this video without the censorship or audio problems...just don't know the title.

  • Comment removed

  • Wat does hitchens say at 10:32? His final words?

  • @philhunter2005 it sounds latin. my guess... a highly ironic ancient latin insult.

  • @MpowerdAPE As far as I can tell, it sounds like "dominus vobiscum", which means something like "the lord be with you", by which I guess Hitchens, as you pointed out, was being partly ironic, and partly I suspect, it was maybe his english politeness, trying to leave on a less hostile note. Maybe not, though, as 'pax vobiscum' would've served that purpose better...so probably yes, ironic as ever.

  • @gaiuspetronius1 Wow you got it right, impressive! Are you a literature scholar of some kind?

  • @Konicava Just lucky. As a kid I read Quo Vadis a couple of times, and it was full of latin, especially this sort of "christian latin", so I guess my memory retained it till now, without me even knowing it or ever using the knowledge in the meantime, which is quite thought-inspiring as far as the subconscious is concerned...

  • @gaiuspetronius1 Yeah sometimes our memory can amaze us, somebody should thumb up your comment right there. And how about the novel? It didn't made an impression on you? It seems like a tough read, even more in latin, how you got through it as a kid? Im brazilian and latin, which is in the same linguistic trunk as portuguese and spanish, seems very hard for me to understand.

  • This was one of my favourite hitch clips on utube. I'll miss you hitch!

  • love hitch...awesome

  • We are certainly going to miss you Mr. Hitchens. Your salient beliefs will be kept in high standing forever.

  • "I don't understand why you are treating me with such hostility."

Didn't Hitchens just say "We aren't going to forget how the world was when people like you were in charge."

Hitchens treats him with hostility because he is insistent that Hitchens (and indeed all of us) be enslaved in the same manner that he is. We don't want your theocratic prison and we hate its promoters. Thats what hate, hostility and resistance are for!

  • owned indeed...

  • This is amazing, amazing and unbelievable at the same time. My reaction wasn't unlike Christopher's when this guy said all those ridiculous things. Hitchens is a hero and it's extracts and interviews like this which only confirm my love for him.

If anybody knows where to hear the full interview i'd be very interested, thanks

  • This reporter is an idiot. Hitch slapped!

  • This is why I'm gonna miss Hitchens when he's gone!!!

  • Fundamental Christians debating Hitchens invariably come out looking like idiots. Isn't there any other non-Bible-toting non-Christian who can argue as brilliantly as Hitchens?.

  • Bush Jr. went into Iraq because of personal reasons...i.e Bush family's personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein. The much hyped WMDs were only a convenient excuse.

  • @ibzzibrahim

    That's just mere conjecture.

We only know what they said. There were about 10 reasons listed in the Iraq liberation act, but they concentrated on wmd because they didn't think the general public would be for it for the humanitarian reasons.

  • @charlesvan13 They could list 20 or 100 reasons for invasion but it would not mean anything. The real reason is what counts and you will not find it written anywhere. As for humanitarian reasons, there were and still are many other countries which were more fitting for outside intervention.

  • At 3:25 he says, "I'm in favor of god doing whatever god wants to do because he's god..." That's a permission slip to arbitrarily shift the goal post of morality. The christianist agenda sets itself above criticism by appealing to special revelation. It's a ventriloquist act claiming to hear the voice of a disembodied puppet which happens to share the moral mindset of its puppeteer spokesmen. A childlike suspension of disbelief in this invisible 3rd party can make anything it says acceptable.

  • @NothingButSocksOn And god's will is whatever their leaders say so, thats so convenient to their monarchical power-hungry clergyman...

  • CH tore him a new asshole!

  • "they're not isolated, they're salient"......nice one.

  • "Up with which I will not put*"

Epic self-correction. How can you beat a guy who corrects his own grammar?

  • @CosmosFan1

Not a correction. "Which I won't put up with" is completely valid - he just reworded it for Slap Emphasis.

  • Ouch! I could feel THAT burn from here! I think Chris went in a little too hot headed, tho. He probably just didn't realize exactly WHAT comparison he made when they were talking about Iraq. Religious people frequently DON'T.

  • Ha ha ha ha ha. Ran rings around the religious nutter.

  • This guy is deluded and dangerous. Exactly like a cult member.....

  • @Cousinsjay Yes he is; it's a pity he can't debate any more though, due to his illness.

  • I am SO glad i am not one of those poor saps that believe in that god crap!

I say, TAX the churches like any other business and move on to the future!

Free ourselves from this age old traditional myth that really makes no sense.

  • Who on earth is Chuck Norris? :)

  • Thanks for your willingness to join me... click!!!

  • I don't believe i have ever been so happy. I wish people(theists) would listen rather than plug their ears and shout lalalalalalalalLALALALALALAL!!!

  • @thenofxer You have actually described a lot of atheists rather well there.

  • The Xtian's logic:

"The Biblical genocide was as okay as Iraq, because to God it wasn't wrong just as human sacrifice"

Correct me if I'm wrong :D

  • Hilarious conversation. Just hilarious.

  • when he compared religion to an s&m club I had to pause it for like five minutes I was laughing so hard XD

  • What's with all the missing pieces of audio in this?

  • do these religious ppl hear them selfs? lol

quoting the bible is not proof...................

  • Hitchens is magnificent

  • "uurgh! makes me want to take a shower" LMFAO

  • @scotttebben Or at least learn basic spelling in the meantime.

  • what is the last thing that hitch says? It sounds like latin but i could just be not hearing him properly

  • @trixapete Good bit of proselytizing there.

  • @trixapete Yes, so leave one religion to convert to another in other words.

  • @whyteay

Look up religion in the dictionary.

  • What is up with the title? How did Hitch get a bum hand? This guy serves hiself up on a platter like a lamb for the slaughter to Hitchens. I mean, Hitchens destroys this guy.

  • @trevorbjarne the title was deals a bum hand, not gets

  • @Pooternackle5 - measure twice, cut once. thank you. i missed read the title and wondered about it throughout watching/listening to the video. You're right, thx.

  • The incident most refered to in this video is Moses and his commandment to kill the women and male children, and order that shocked his troops, they weren't expecting that, and it was contrary to the normal usages of war. I know of no prior genocide, and it rather looks like that Nazi Moses invented it.

  • I like Hitchens, but he didn't present himself well here. It's unfortunate that he and the interviewer couldn't have had a better discussion.

  • @NathanHawkins79 In what way did he "not present himself well"? He calls them as he sees them. The interviewer was an imbecile and made repeated statements which can only be characterized as disgusting.

  • this radio presenter is nuts -_-

  • man he got pissed, hung up more or less in his ear.

  • "when you said that God's commandments must be obeyed even when they promote genocide and slavery"

    "i said no such thing"

    "yes you did"

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • up with which i will not put.. love it lol

  • Is there a full version of this interview without all the blank spaces?

  • this blokes a complete idiot but he is polite, most of these fools make the error of trying to interrupt or talk over hitchens. which is an error, of course.

  • the radio host is an idiot; he's trying to defend a completely vile act because some supreme being "commanded" it. god doesn't speak so he's never told anyone to do anything. the whole "still smal voice" is a subjective joke which has been used to justify all sorts of evil acts throughout history. conveniently these acts can then be reframed as being a satanic deception (or those people weren't "true" christians, lol) now that it's no longer pc for christians to convert people by force

  • Comment removed

  • it also tells us christianity is against self-impowerment and thinking. christianity has been designed with a built in mechanism to keep the gullible from questioning their stupid beliefs for fear they will go to hell

  • the bible praises ignorance as a virtue though, thus sucking in the gullible. "God chose what is nonsense in the world to make the wise feel ashamed" (he failed though). the story of adam's fall in the garden for partaking in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is a parable, it tells us that christinity is anti knowledge and pro-ignorance.

  • Hitchens the hypocrite

  • Hitchens avoids the question nicely.

  • Ah yes, "love thine enemy", a very useful emotional ploy to make those who beleive it, do absolutely nothing other than feel morally superior while they drown. The slave mentality is so destructive to any society. If Satan were a real entity, then surely Jesus was his best lie of all.

  • What's the last thing Hitch says?

  • who is this talking to hitchens? what a waste of life.

  • @vinegarthomas Paul edwards

  • best beat-down in radio history. listen and learn everyone. hitch is the most articulate person in Western civilization.

  • A serial killer waiting to act...when ordered by God to do so. You nailed it Hitch.

  • So that is what it sounds like when your ass is handed to you?

  • i don't know how the unknown dude could claim god would never command him to kill someone when god did so in the bible. is god not consistant as christians teach?

  • @xcapote You missed the whole point. Sometimes killing is necessary for self preservation. It's killing because of anger and hatred that it's wrong. When God commands us to war, it is just. Read the whole story to understand it. Hitchens is motivated by his hatred for God because he had a difficult childhood.

  • @gallantentry You're an idiot. "God" doesn't speak in words so how the fuck would anyone know if a supreme being is commanding them to go to war or not? It's all about your own delusions and projections. You go to war when you want, not because some imaginary being is telling you to. Take responsibility for your own actions and don't use some bullshit excuse to justify your and other believers' vile actions.

  • @xcapote thanks for the compliment. God speaks to the heart of the believer in a still small voice. You would not understand if you do not believe. God also has spoken/speaks to us through His word.

  • @gallantentry it wasn't a compliment but for someone whose determined to be a martyr/"spedcial" I can see how you'd take it as one. that's not god talking, it's your mental illness. what you've described is a self-fulfilling prophecy in which believing something makes it "real". i believe in unicorns and i can assure you they're very real to me too! anyone who believes ridiculous fairy tales like noah's ark (which is easily disproven) and adam and eve is a certifiable moron.

  • Comment removed

  • up with which, I will not put. if that's clear? LMAO !!

  • @cruzdavid72 yeah, i love his little "reductio ad absurdum"(if such it can be called) of the preposition-at-the-end-of-a-sentence rule :D

  • Change 'God' to 'Hitler' and you've explained the Holocaust.

  • Oh my god.

Christopher, I know you won't read this but on the highly improbable chance you do, let me say this. You sir, picked him apart in such a ruthless and brilliant way that I am gobsmacked. You are so quick, you jump on a faulty (or morally bankrupt) premise in an instant. And with that faulty premise you skewer him. Any god would be proud to have you on his side. But since there is no god, I f***in' proud to have you of mine.

  • i dont think i've ever laughed harder in my entire life. This is easily the greatest video on youtube. If Chuck Norris and Jesus aka God aka holy ghostthingy had a baby it would be named Hitchens.

  • badass motherfucker, motherfucker.

  • 'Do whatever it is they were commanded to do'. If Hitchens hadn't smelled blood before, he did just then.

  • His arse is now so wide you drive a bus down it.

  • Up with which I will not put. That's good ol' Churchill right there. Nobel laureate in literature.

  • imagine having a coke session with hitchens, it would blow your mind, maaaan

  • The guy should have given up at 2:30...

  • i work with people in the catholic church and they have devoted their entire lives to religion and this guy is 100x worse.

  • hitchens está brutal!

  • AWESOME

  • The ending is epic!

  • Hitchslap!

  • salient: prominent or conspicuous

  • @Lilaan It also has connotations of 'important' as well as conspicuous.

  • I wish I could articulate myself like Christopher Hitchens can. Truly a genius.

  • Nobody can stand up next to Hitchens, unless they embrace his word....

    Hitchens is Christ...just drunk.

  • I wouldn't want somebody professing love to me to think themselves a "slave" to me. What a revolting, one-sided relationship. Is this guy really serious?

  • The interviewer really didn't get upset, but I look at that as a bad thing. He was so brainwashed into believing that everything the God of the bible commanded was good and just that he couldn't consider any counter argument.

  • After a fisting like that, this fuck-knuckle won't be able to sit down for a week! Hitchslap ftmfw!

  • He really gave him every single inch there, didn't he?

  • @gabiotta From the taste buds right down to the intestine.

  • fukken pwned

  • Hitchens is the current Chuck Norris of intelligence

  • @Superwolf1337 or maybe the John Holmes of brains?

  • @navyboydjray or that

  • That radio presenter has got one mighty Jesus-complex, oh gosh.

  • What are you talking about siiir?

  • I'm English, and I have to keep a dictionary handy when I listen to Christopher Hitchens. I feel ashamed we don't sound as English as Christopher anymore.

  • @EllyMcCormack We never did lol Only a select few have fine accents like Christopher now, just as they did then.

  • @EllyMcCormack Im not having a go at you. But, it really just comes from profuse reading of literature. Thats all. Take a look at hitchens book shelf. He doesn't read a dictionary day in and day out. He reads literature of all kinds.

  • @bryansteeksma Shut it.

  • @EllyMcCormack What's wrong with you. I thought I made it clear that I wasn't taking the piss. I am a fan of Hitch and one of the things I admire the most about him is his personal library. All I was saying is that a lot of his ability to use language comes from his love for literature.

And then on the other hand, fuck you! :)

  • @EllyMcCormack Love the cut glass English accent. Jeremy Irons is another who has it

  • @EllyMcCormack I know, I'm forever looking up words! I'm studying a degree in PPE concurrently with another in Law, I thought my intellect was something to shout about!

I saw one Hitchen's video and I was completely humbled. I used to preach to people about trying to augment their vocabulary as ours it a truely beautiful language.

Hitchens completely schooled me! Ha ...

  • @Lucessi1986 You could learn basic spelling in the meantime, the word is 'truly'.

  • @whyteay I'm looking forwards to the day when you eventually have sexual relations (with another person...) and realise how pathetic scouring the internet, behaving like a self-righteous no-lifer is. My deepest sympathies with your mother for not miscarrying you =) Feel free to spell-check that.

  • @Lucessi1986 You sound like the kind of animal to whom Hitchens' frail non-arguments would appeal.

  • @whyteay Why are you still boring me?

  • @Lucessi1986 It's quite a lot of fun, actually. Anyway, thanks for the laughs.

  • @EllyMcCormack even though hitchens would rather be american lol

  • “You have shown one thing to me which is that with God, all things are possible. You’re impervious to arguments on these points; everything just comes out right to you because you have an unfalsifiable faith. There’s no point of evidence that you would accept that would say, ‘ok, that would have to mean I change my mind’. You’d just call on another interpretation of faith for it.”

    What a Hitchslap!

  • This is a great example of how dangerous christian thought can be.

  • Its funny how the radio guy gets slaped in the face left and right and stays so pseudofriendly when it would have been his turn to at least try to hit back. pothetic.

  • Christians who oppose stem cell research, on religious grounds, are guilty of obstructing improvements for the disabled. A 3-day old human embryo is made of 150 microscopic cells (blastocyst) - it's NOT a person. A fly's brain has 100,000 cells (for comparison's sake). Religious beliefs about the "human soul" by certain Christians caused suffering to millions. GW Bush curbed this research in law, due to the superstitions of the Christian Right. Give the living a chance, not microscopic cells.

  • Beliefs should be private & not infringe on other people. The Christian Right in the US have imposed themselves grossly in Government policies. They elect politicians to do their bidding - which affects everyone else. Curbing stem cell research (that may help the disabled) due to their religious belief that microscopic stem cells are somehow human beings. These specific Christians supported war mongering, by supporting GW Bush due to his Christian beliefs. His lies didn't matter & people died.

  • @timewilltell7 No, I agree with you on those points, too, but I think Hitchens is just too eager to start a fight. Even if the radio announcer said something dumb, Hitchens didn't need to tear him a new asshole.

  • I expect there is no "sane" answer to my question below. Christians should examine the pagan origins of the Jesus story. They should do this for this own information and not because someone else "lacks faith". Devoting one's life on belief based on ficticious stories defies sanity. The Jesus story of part man, part god, savior, virgin birth, rising from the dead - are all old stories from before Jesus. The stories were shaped so Greco-Roman cultures could accept them. Ignorance is not the answer

  • Would a sane person please explain how so many dead people were walking the streets of a major city such as Jerusalem, yet there is no record of this happening anywhere (except according to Matthew 27). Tombs opening up with the deceased returning from the dead should have been noted by everyone. Where is this evidence for this? Why is the story of Jesus a copy of so many pagan savior-god stories from thousands of years before Christ? Note: "Satan did it to throw us off" is not acceptable.

  • Jesus Christ, I'm on Hitchen's side of the table, but I've never seen anyone as catastrophically bad at diplomacy than him.

  • Comment removed

  • @FullAutoAngelo Yeah, he would be the worst diplomat. Then again he says hes at war. At that point diplomacy has failed anyway.

  • Close to 1 billion Hindus believe in a trinity. This trinity includes the god Krishna (who PRE-DATES Jesus by centuries). Here are the similarities between Krishna & Jesus - Both: born on Dec. 25th, born in a manger, born without human male conception, both had carpenter for a father. Both being targeted by an act of infanticide. Both killed by crucifixion. Both resurrected from the dead. Believing Christians cast this aside and insist that Jesus is "different". The Jesus story is borrowed.

  • @yington - Haven't you read the Gospel according to Loch Nessie? Nessie dies to save the loch, descends into the murky depths of hell and resurrects 3 days later. A number of dead loch creatures were seen walking its banks rejoicing. Bigfoot - is not real, a falsehood but Nessie - well that's different as its so obviously true and not a myth. Many people witnessed Nessie resurrecting from the waters. Can't beat that for evidence! May the good light of Nessie shine on us all.

  • Something as historical and unusual as the dead rising from their tombs (per Matthew 27) in Jerusalem and appearing to many people - should have been recorded by everyone. The Romans, the Jews, any officials, anyone at all - (because it did not happen!) The dead walking the city is not noted anywhere except by a gospel writer, who wrote many decades laters. This needs to be explained before "non-believers" are asked by some Christians to "prove" that Jesus did not rise from the dead. Ridiculous.

  • Mithra's (not Jesus) followers were promised immortality. He performed miracles. Buried in a tomb and after three days rose from the dead. His resurrection was celebrated every year. He was called "the Good Shepherd" & identified with both the Lamb and the Lion. He was the "Way, the Truth & the Light," the "Logos". His sacred day was Sunday, the "Lord's Day". Mithra had his principal festival on what was later to become Easter. His story was borrowed and imposed on Jesus. All myths.

  • Guess who this person is: He was born of a virgin on Dec 25th. He came from heaven to be born as a man, to redeem men from their sin. He was know as "Savior" "Son of God" "Redeemer" & "Lamb of God." He was buried in a tomb from which he rose from the dead. He had 12 disciples.

Answer: MITHRA - a Persian god who pre-dates Jesus by thousands of years. The Jesus story recycles Mithra's.

From the wall of a Mithraic temple in Rome: "And thou hast saved us by shedding the eternal blood."

  • Apparently a lot of dead people were walking around after Jesus died. Bible - Matthew 27 : 52-53 states: "The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs and after Jesus' resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people."

Who actually believes this Ghost-Fest zombie meet and greet? A bunch of decayed dead people walking around Jerusalem.

  • This bible-hugger got OWNED!!!!

  • we're not really far "above" the animal kingdom in truth. it's only 1% of our DNA that seperates us from chimpanzees. As for the 'word of god' being right all along, i suppose that a 21st century human would read of the barbarism, genocide, slavery and rape in gods name in Judges, Leviticus and Exodus, and conclude it was good? most believers pick and choose which bits of the bible they like, which tells us that wherever morality comes from, it's not from the 'good book'.

  • Hitchens, Dennett, Harris and Dawkins pulled the straight razor of logic from one ear to the other on religion. It now comes to the internet to flail and flop as it bleeds out in death throes.Like a vampire in the sun it dissolves to dust under the brilliance of the beam of logic and reason. Religion attracts the failed, the fallen, the weak of my species. It is a fantastic dividing marker for who is human and who is just religious.Dont ignore this important division, its there for a reason.

  • Does anyone know who the radio host is?

  • OH PEOPLE OF YOUTUBE,

    REPENT.

RENOUNCE YOUR FALSE GODS OF CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS, SATAN AND YOUR WORM. DO NOT WORSHIP THESE FALSE GODS.

WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST, WHO IS GODS SON, AND GOD, SO YOU CAN ATTAIN ETERNAL HEAVEN SO THAT YOU CAN WORSHIP GOD FOR ETERNITY ON YOUR KNEES, PRAISING HIM IN HIS GLORY EVERY SECOND.

AVOID THE ETERNAL WORMETH, ACCEPT THE ETERNAL JESUS.

    OH YOUTUBER'S - CLEANSE THY SINS !

HALLELUJAH AT GOD'S INFINITE MERCY TO US WORTHLESS SINNERS

    AMEN

  • @yington this is a joke yeh?

  • @jackofeet1000

    OH JACKFACE,

WHAT IS THERE TO JOKE ABOUT, WHEN DISCUSSING THE TRUTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

WHY WORSHIP CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS, A FALSE GOD? OR YOUR WORM?

JESUS IS GREATER THAN THESE - ONLY HE CAN FORGIVE YOUR SINS, NOT HITCHENS OR YOUR WORM.

    OH JACKBOY,

REPENT AND ACCEPT JESUS, SO YOU CAN SPEND ETERNITY WORSHIPPING GOD EVERY SECOND, ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAISING HIM IN HIS GLORY.

    HALLELUJAH,

    AMEN.

  • @yington Nobody's worshipping Christopher Hitchens, they're agreeing with him- there's a chasm of difference.

If you're going to insist upon everybody worshipping your deity, at least produce substantial evidence of your specific supernatural claim if you want to be taken seriously. Also, stop typing everything in capitals, it's stupid and obnoxious.

  • @commentersareidiots1

    OH COMMENTFACE,

    REPENT.

YOU ASK FOR EVIDENCE FOR THE "CLAIMS" I SAY (I PUT IN SPEECHMARKS BECAUSE IT'S RATHER FUNNY THAT THE TRUTH IS CALLED A CLAIM...)

WELL - LOOK AT THE HANDS THAT YOU TYPE WITH. LOOK AT THE EYES THAT YOU SEE WITH.

DO YOU JUST THINK THAT THEY APPEARED FROM *NOTHING* ?!

THE COMPUTER YOU TYPE ON WAS CLEARLY *CREATED* AND MADE.

SO PLEASE REALISE THAT OF COURSE YOUR HANDS AND EYES WERE *CREATED* BY A HIGHER POWER....THE LORD ALMIGHTY !!!

  • @yington supposing that your assertion that everything must be designed was true, how do you get from the position that there must be a designer to the position that this designer cares what holy days you observe, ensures your continued existence after death, cares who you go to bed with, reads your thoughts even whilst you're asleep, etc.? who is to say that this designer is the christian god, as opposed to Zeus, Odin, Brahma, or Allah?

  • @commentersareidiots1

    OH COMMENTBOY,

    REPENT.

YOU ASK HOW WE GET FROM THE DESIGNER, TO THE LORD ALMIGHTY JESUS CHRIST.

WELL, IF WE ACCEPT THAT THERE IS A DESIGNER, THEN WE KNOW THAT THIS DESIGNER WILL HAVE A PLAN FOR US. BUT WE KNOW THAT THIS DESIGNER CANNOT *POSSIBLY* ACCEPT SINNING, AS PART OF HIS GREATER PLAN FOR US. SO WE HAVE TO HAVE OUR SINS FORGIVEN.

NOW -NAME ONE OTHER RELIGION WHERE THE GOD SACRIFICES HIMSELF FOR *OUR SINS* ?

ONLY JESUS DOES THIS,AND HENCE PROVES IT.

  • @yington

you haven't proved your assertion about theism in any sense. how do you get from the position of there being a designer to presuming to know that this designer dictates what a moral action is, and presuming to know that this designer prescribes actions? How would you know that such a god cannot accept supposedly immoral actions as opposed to being indifferent to them? You've pulled an assumption out of thin air, created a mystery to solve where there never was one in the first place.

  • @commentersareidiots1

    OH COMMENTFACE,

    REPENT.

WELL, IF YOU ACCEPT THAT THERE IS A DESIGNER, THEN WE HAVE TO BE RATIONAL ABOUT WHAT THIS DESIGNER IS. WHY DID HE DESIGN US? AND DOES HE HAVE A PLAN FOR US?

WE CAN SEE THROUGH THE SUPERIORITY OF MAN, THAT WE WERE CREATED TO BE A LEVEL ABOVE OTHER ANIMALS, AND THAT HE WANTED A RELATIONSHIP WITH US. HOWEVER, GIVEN THAT THIS CREATOR MUCH BE BETTER THAN US - IN GOD'S CASE HE IS PERFECT - HE CANNOT ACCEPT SIN, WHICH IS WHEN ....

  • @commentersareidiots1

....WHEN MAN GOES AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD.

WE KNOW GOD CARES ABOUT OUR ACTIONS, BECAUSE A WORLD OF COMPLETE INDIFFERENCE WOULD LOOK SO DIFFERENT.

THE REASON MAN HAS MORALS, AND THE REASON WE HAVE COMPASSION, AND A SENSE OF RIGHT AND WRONG, IS BECAUSE GOD WANTS US TO USE THEM TO FOLLOW HIS WILL.

IF THE DESIGNER (GOD) WAS INDIFFERENT, WE OURSELVES WOULD BE INDIFFERENT.

HUMANITYS PASSION TO ABIDE BY AN ABSOLUTE MORALITY IS IN ITSELF, PROOF OF HIS IDEALS.

  • @yington as to the design hypothesis, our knowledge of the world around us exposes this as false. over 99% of the species that have existed on this planet are now extinct. Our own species has existed for roughly 200,000 years, and for the majority of that, death due to disease, starvation and warfare was rife, then, all of a sudden, a few thousand years ago in the ignorant, uneducated middle east, god decides to intervene, after being indifferent to the suffering of humanity prior to that?

  • @commentersareidiots1

    OH COMMENTFACE,

    REPENT.

YOU ASK WHAT GOD WAS DOING FOR 200,000 YEARS?

BUT THIS IS BASED ON THE FALSE AND SUPERSTITIOUS ASSERTION THAT THE EARTH HAS BEEN AROUND THAT LONG.

IF YOU ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE IN THE BIBLE, YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE EARTH (AND UNIVERSE) HAS ONLY BEEN HERE FOR ABOUT 6,000 YEARS (10,000 MAX).

YOU SHOULDN'T THROW AROUND FIGURES LIKE 200,000, WHEN YOU CAN SEE VIA THE BIBLE THAT THIS IS INCORRECT.

    AMEN.

  • @yington

the estimate of the age of the earth of 3.7 billion years is in not superstitious- this conclusion is drawn from a vast plethora of geological evidence. The biblical claim of the age of earth is based on assumption that the bible is correct, without testing the claims made. anyone can make supernatural claims, but they should not be taken seriously until they can produce evidence of it. show me evidence that jesus was the manifestation of god- that he was put to death proves nothing.

  • @commentersareidiots1

    OH COMMENTBOY,

    REPENT.

YOU SAY THAT THE EARTH IS 3.7 BILLION YEARS OLD, BUT 500 YEARS AGO, MAN THOUGHT THE WORLD WAS FLAT, AND THIS WAS THE ESTABLISHED OPINION OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY.

MAN THOUGHT THAT THE SMALLEST THING WAS THE ATOM, AND THAT THERE WERE ONLY 8 PLANETS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM.

EVERYTHING SCIENTISTS SAY EVENTUALLY GETS CONTRADICTED BY NEW FACTS - THE ONLY THING THAT HAS BEEN RIGHT ALL ALONG HAS BEEN GOD'S WORD IN THE BIBLE.

    AMEN.

  • @commentersareidiots1

YOU ALSO ASK ABOUT JESUS BEING GOD.

HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD, AND THIS WAS SEEN BY OVER 500 PEOPLE.

NOW, IT'S CLEAR THAT TO RISE FROM THE DEAD, ONE HAS TO ATTAIN SUPERNATURAL STATUS.

THEREFORE, IF WE CAN SEE THAT JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD, WE CAN ALSO RATIONALLY ASSUME THAT WHAT HE SAID BEFORE HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS WAS TRUE - AND HE WAS CLEAR THAT HE WAS GOD, AND THAT HE CAME TO EARTH TO CLEANSE MAN OF HIS SINS THROUGH THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

    GOD BLESS.

  • @yington so it is said in the "good book"- but the gospels were written about half a century after the death of Jesus Of Nazareth, so that could very easily have been fabricated. This was 2000 years ago, it was very easy to lie to people and get away with it given the credulity of an uneducated population in mesopotamia. Other holy books make similar claims- the quran claims mohammed split the moon, but you wouldn't be in a hurry to believe that unless they produced evidence that it happened.

    OH COMMENTFACEBOY,

    REPENT.

PLEASE PROVIDE CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT (A) GOD DOESN'T EXIST, (B) JESUS *DIDN'T* RISE FROM THE DEAD, AND (C) JESUS IS *NOT* GOD AND SAVIOUR ?

    CAN YOU DO THAT?

    I DOUBT THAT.

WHEN YOU REALISE THAT YOU CANNOT DO THIS, I HOPE YOU'LL REALISE HOW ABSURD YOUR DENIAL OF THE TRUTH IS.

I UNDERSTAND YOU ARE YOUNG IN YOUR QUEST OF FINDING THE TRUTH. THE FIRST STEP IS TO RENOUNCE PERSONAL SUPERSTITION AND HATRED OF TRUTH.

    AMEN.
