Which I assume... was by my subscribers who the majority of, are nerdfighters.

I really liked your point about people on the internet being /real people/. I know it's something that affects a lot of people, even off youtube (eg. on web forums, livejournal angst et. al.). I mean, I have friends who run web communities and they get all sorts of hate - people telling them they're awful and horrible just because they made a decision on the internet about a particular issue. They say horrible things about these people's personal lives and it's really not fair and not right.

I totaly agree with you about the "we're real people!" thing. I think people who don't regularly make videos forget that. I guess that's why it's easier to be friends with other video makers rather than commenters - it sounds terrible but in a way it's true!

The web is its own type of social medium, and that is what so many people don't understand.

So many see it as a game, or a hobby, even when they interact with others through it, not recognizing that for a growing sub-culture, it is as important as a cellphone.

Friendships are made, or strengthened, that go beyond the web, so someone defacing a YT Page, is no less painful than someone stealing a cellphone. Yes it is "just" a phone/website. But it is still directly affects you /personally/.
