A fantastic score for a terrific movie. Any other year it was a shoo-in oscar winner. However - 1983 was the highest quality year possibly ever for original scores Also nominated were John Williams (RETURN OF THE JEDI), Jerry Goldsmith (UNDER FIRE), Leonard Roseman (CROSS CREEK) and the winner Bill Conti (THE RIGHT STUFF). As a group they have 11 oscar wins between them from a staggering 74 nominations.
