As i specifically stated, the 2002 NIE stated Saddam was not an imminent threat. It also stated that Saddam would only use whatever weapons he had in self defense if attacked. January 31, 2003, Bush tells Blair he doubts any WMD's will be found after telling the US for months WMD's are in Iraq. That aerial photo from Nov 10, 2002 of supposed chemical munitions was actually firefighting equipment. And to top it off, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld etc. all admitted there never were any WMD's. The NIE you are referring from is the edited version known as the White Paper that congress got. The classified one at the time, now declassified, specifically has many "We asses this" or "we can not confirm" before all points stated such as if Saddam is continuing a nuclear program. Those "asses" and "can't confirm"s were deleted from the edited version you reference from. The Democrats who voted for the war are spineless and were scared by Bush's fear tactics. Gephardt is a perfect example.

As i specifically stated, the 2002 NIE stated Saddam was not an imminent threat. It also stated that Saddam would only use whatever weapons he had in self defense if attacked. When Bush would speak of Saddam having WMD's and all but certain not far off from having nuclear, I'm sorry but common sense that is saying imminent threat. January 31, 2003, Bush tells Blair he doubts any WMD's will be found after telling the US for months WMD's are in Iraq. This is backed up in the Manning Memo which also tells how Bush proposes a way to trick Saddam to fire upon aircraft to justify war. That aerial photo from Nov 10, 2002 of supposed chemical munitions was actually firefighting equipment. And to top it off, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld etc. all admitted there never were any WMD's. The NIE you are referring from is the edited version known as the White Paper that congress got. The classified one at the time, now declassified, specifically has many "We asses this" or "we can not confirm" before all points stated such as if Saddam is continuing a nuclear program. Those "asses" and "can't confirm"s were deleted from the edited version you reference from. The Democrats who voted for the war are spineless and were scared by Bush's fear tactics. Gephardt is a perfect example.

It also meant that the situation in Afghanistan and western Pakistan deteriorated so that now we are on the brink of losing in a major way.
