  • I am not able to connect to the marketplace. I use my existing gmail ID and password to connect on the playbook to the Android marketplace and it just says, "you dont have a network connection. Connect to Wifi." I tried manually configuring the wifi and it just fails. What am I doing wrong?

  • @mkhanhere

Hey I just had that same problem. I did a security wipe and started the process all over again and it worked for me. What software version is your playbook currently on? (2.0.0.4XXX or 2.0.0.6XXX) If you do a security wipe while you are on 2.0.0.4XXX it will automatically update your playbook to 2.0.0.6XXX and you will have to downgrade and start over... not a problem though. Good luck

  • Okay... I have bought a new pb and upgraded to 2.0 because android player is not available on version 1.0.7 or something like that so yeah... comeback and install android player and side load an android app... it starts and stops in an instant... where'd mess up

  • @mkaa00x android app player comes installed. I didnt know this at first too and tried to install app player separately. I had to do a full security wipe to fix the problem but afterwards I only sideloaded the android app and it was successful. good luck

  • doesnt work anymore.just download the new beta 2.0 it has android player. and most apps arent available.

  • Comment removed

  • can someone help me? my app player loads 4 a min then just stops

  • I noticed the little transparent red mark in the upper left corner around the 8:00 mark, does that indicate low memory?

  • @sahlomonic It means there's a notification. Could be App World saying there's an update or a new message on Whatsapp

  • @sahlomonic it just reminds the user of the updates that are available.

  • thanks for the tutorial

  • hi

what version of playbook software this android apps player works?

  • I just installed OS2, but android player starts up and then crashes and exits. what should i do?

  • I downloaded the 2.0 beta from RIM's site. Almost every .bar file that I have installed (sidebar method) works but I cant seem to find anything with the market available. sometimes a message pops up and says "this action isnt allowed on the blackberry playbook" or something like that. Im assuming that the official beta doesn't let you do the market thing and stuff like that? I really wanna get TUNEE music, MIREN browser and SWIFTKEY keyboard. any suggestions?

  • i have a player already but its not working .... :-(

  • @iamrhei101010 no it's the password you had entered as your playbook login password

  • Hi,

All my apps are showing "starting download" but are not downloading, any ideas?

  • Nice job @HaTax2. I need some of that brewsky you had while coding this after a long day and night... LOL. Kudos man!!!

  • thanks a lot!

  • Great thanku u for sharing! Yeah

  • good work buddy....

  • Thanks!! Can't wait to try out some Android Apps *but I also hope it doesn't mean when RIM eventually releases this ability widespread to the public that developers will stop making native QNX playbook apps

  • Very cool, thank you!

  • yeah, i can see that. Been playing VIP Poker. Works perfectly with no lag at all

  • This works as demonstrated. The big problem now is the memory optimization. I find myself quickly running out of memory and having to reset the PB. Otherwise it's working a treat.

  • thank you very much for this! Cheers!
