I can still remember KYW in Philadelphia preempting Time Machine, so WTAF picked it up. IIRC, WTAF continued to air the reruns until September 1985 while the show was gone from WNBC in New York
He also best known for "The Girl With Something Extra, co-starred opposite future two-time Oscar Winner, Sally Field. Also for "That's Incredible!" and the "$100,000 Pyramid" as well.
It's the same John Davidson, who co-starred with Lesley Ann Warren in two Walt Disney films, "The Happiest Millionaire" (1967) and "The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band" (1968).
This is a very interesting show. It seems like The PRice is Right is meeting history IQ; your historical intuition is needed but still no need to be so serious. Ron was someone John found interesting through accent; I don't think John is a boater sadly. Before or After is basic and straightforward; okay for a game and Ron may have just had a bad day there. Sweet Sixteen may a Lucky 7 ripoff but it works for a show like this. Some things are interesting and some are not.
Actually it looks like Lucky 7 combined with the "Let's Make a Deal" game where a couple is given an amount of money, and guess the price of grocery products, and if
We would like to ask Game Show Network (GSN) to air that classic game show from 1985 and hoping FrantleMedia along with GSN for an updated version? We haven't seen that show for over 20 years. John Davidson did a wonderful job as the host.
Do they keep the money left over in that sweet sixteen game? no mention of that.

After Time Machine, John Davidson Hosted The New Hollywood Squares in 1986, and The $100,000 Pyramid in 1991.

I love this show..but can see why it flopped..too slow...and not many care about the past.

I vaguely remember this. Sale of the Century was the NBC show I watched before Scrabble but I recall this show was good.

Reg Grundy was probably impressed by Ron because he talks just like Reg.

I mean FremantleMedia, which owns Time Machine, Sale of the Century, Scrabble and other Reg Grundy Game Shows.

they have any left, they usually win a car.

I Know that some of these cues, that will later be used on the game show Catchphrase with Art James in 1985.

The drumroll used in the intro of this show came from two other fellow NBC RG shows in Sale of the Century and Scrabble.
