Every tune I hear of Keiko’s, I think, this is my absolute favorite. And then I hear another, and, it’s my absolute favorite too? She’s just that good. Every one of her musical pieces deserves a place at the top. I have other favorite artists, but none of them come in with such superb consistency as Keiko. There just isn’t a number she does that I don’t like. Whether solo on the piano, or supported by a host of other musicians, she just brings it home.
I am @ a loss for words. Her music is breathtaking! The more I listen to her the more I'm hooked. Her concerts must be close to a religous experience! I'll go if she comes to mpls

The music of Keiko Matsui is a blessing from Heaven.
Her music reaches the depths of our souls and pulls out every single beautiful and golden feeling of peace and love. Her music reminds us to appreciate the special connection those of us from ecclectic cultures share through her music, which has the power to unify and encourage us to embrace our human family with love and mutual joy.
I love how it starts up slow, and soft, thinking it going to end then she gradually gets louder with her elelctric piano, then electric gutiar I think put some kick in it.
Don't even expect it either...love Keiko...so mysterious!
I believe there's a part in 9/8 as well, I'm a drummer and thats how I count it. then 2 measures of 4/4 including the ritardando measure and stays 4/4. I was suppose to be the first to mention the time signatures, it is called destiny. I would be able to play it counting it like this.
I suppose nobody else wonders when its about new age... new agers just relax and enjoy never wonder. Or is my comment just plain dumb? I haven't seen people talking music-wise
Well, that's one way to approach music. I'm one of them, but I do know some (read: tiny bit of) theory.
You're right. Most of the fast part is in 5/8 (I think it's a fast 5/4, but that depends on notation). Then it rits back into 4/4, like in the beginning.

The music seems to contain a sense of "Zen",
some touch of "Koto"(Japanese musical instrument) playing,
and Oriental love feeling...
She is on top of the 21st century's artists.

wait it could be counted as 12/8 as compound, i mean the measure before the ritardando. we have to ask keiko how was it written.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to be the drum set player behind her (I play primarily piano, but that position is sort of taken, yes?).
