for me when i look mercedes now these old w124 stay the most beautiful ! i have a e250 diesel in good condition from 1995 with 420 000 kms ! never i had any problem just normal repair .....IF A WIN A MONEY GAME I KEEP MY CAR AND I CHOOSE TO PUT ANY PERFECTION ON IT BUT I WILL NEVER SALE IT just when it was finish for her....maybe with 600 000 kms !

I am a huge Mercedes fan and enthusiast so I just wanted to mention that the Touring wagons and Coupes are not W124, the Touring is a Mercedes S124 and the Coupe is a Mercedes C124

According to the "W124 Faszination"- the German short movie about MBw124 available on YouTube saloon as well as estate,, coupe, convertible, 6-doors Limo, and so called "Sonderwagen" are parts of w124 series. Estate is called as T-Model and coupe as CE. S124/C124 I have never heard about it.

In 1985 there came a Touring version in the W124 series assortment and its production name was S124, in 1986 there came a Coupe version and its production name was C124. But you're right about that the M. Benz W124 was produced as Estate (T-Model or TE), Coupe (CE), Cabriolet, 6-doors Limo (Airport taxi) and in 1990 there came a sedan with a longer wheelbase.

just bought a w124 diesel powered but its the straight 6 3.0l standard 12v but it damn shifts, a great car and im not that put off its a diesel as it so gives a nice sound and plenty of muscle when needed. When petrol does eventually fall to reasonable prices i shall look into getting a petrol 1 but probably still keep the 1 i own as it would be good for towing and for everyday driving

My dad owns a green W124 E-200 station wagon full optional, it's just made for the highway.

Only thing, it should have the 6th gear. Today, several car firms (Audi, bmw, honda..) choose to put the 6th gear because it reduces fuel consumption and for a big motor it has to be the 6th gear. For the rest, amazing car: space and luxury inside, class outside, amazing motor. and relaively cheap to buy and mantain nowadays.

Im hopefully buying my first W124 saloon soon in good condition except here at the moment in the u.k. we have a unleaded crisis so i have to buy the 3 litre straight-six diesel im afraid still nice when its going idle-ing sounds like a tractor but it shall be a car that will last me tens of thousands of miles
