@PimpUigi Yeah. The PSX has two separate versions on Castlevania Chronicles: The Original Sharp X68000 port and the "Arranged" version. I bought Chronicles simply to play the old X68000 version because I couldn't find any good emulators for it. It has the sprite intro, though as well. The game starts with the CGI intro, you click start and it will go to the menu for you to select which game you want and after choosing original mode, the sprite version intro will start.

I remember Death was incredibly hard in the Chronicles version. I had that plant that heals you as a subweapon and I had to use it 5 times to stay alive (luckily I had just over 50 hearts) and even then I still just barely made it with 13 seconds left on the clock when the orb fell. It was crazy

It seems hard when you have the herb, you have to use it a lot, but keep in mind, you lose your ability to throw anything else instead. The cross (especially if you have 2 or 3) absolutely destroys Death.

The frankenstein monster is a pain in this game and chronicles. I died 3 times by that monster then I figure it out how to kill it without destroying my life and it's the same way that you did in this video.

I have such a soft spot for remakes, so I prefer games like the Rondo Remake, Adventure Rebirth, and Chronicles Remake to their original versions.

I do prefer the music for the original game over the remake, though. Too much techno.

rondo of blood is the toughest castlevania game and believe me i have played nearly all of them.dracula x: rondo of plood for the pc engine was the toughest.

Actually this ,Super Castlevania 4, Vampire Killer(Arcade) is considered by Konami as just alternate telling of Simon Belmont's battle with Dracula in Castlevania 1 nes, So in the Cannon it falls after Castlevania 3 but before Castlevania 2, Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines

Just a general tip for this game, get the Herb sub-item and you're pretty much set. As long as you don't fall anywhere that is. Of course the bosses will be harder without a sub-item but you should have enough health.

I must say, this is probably the best Castlevania game next to Chi no Rondo. The difficulty is what makes the game enjoyable for me. I had more trouble with Vampire Killer for MSX. And I had to laugh because I like to go for the cool pose when you grab the orb at the end of the level too.

I'd probably have to agree. Rondo is definitely the best Castlevania. Symphony of the Night is great but it's too easy, then again you can play as Richter and increase the difficulty some.

This is pretty hard IMO - nearly as hard as the Original.

Hmm, Im not ACE but I'll take my time to answer lol. There's no point of comparing both, since they're 2 different games. Rondo is the precursor of Symphony of the Night, which you may know, its a very different game. And this is just a remake of the first Akumajo Dracula, which is linear, while in Rondo you have alternate paths, different endings, diff chars and whatnot. Hope this helps!!

The X68000 was some Japanese console. I think it was some sort of computer though as this comes on a floppy disk.
