Ok all those hating on this game just shut up. Do remember bioware had work on post-release ME2 DLC, ME3 and the old republic at the same time and EA were most likely pressing to get one bioware game out this year so of course it won't feel as good as the first. But it's still a good game. If they had a year, maybe even until October, DA2 would have been as good as it's predecessor
My review in a nut shell. both great games, love bioware since baulders gate.
For a better story you should go for Dragon Age Origins & Awakening, but for game-play in the way of battling, Dragon Age 2 win hands down, as it doesn't feel like a dice is rolling in the background like Dragon Age.
Graphic wise Dragon age 2 wins for character graphics, but as for environments Dragon Age Origins wins. Kirkwall just looks so dull. Dragon Age Origins & Awakening - 10/10

Fucking dialogue tree with only three options, main character still has no real personality. 3. Game linear as hell, everybody plays the same game! 4. Entire quests and character classes Bugged and glitched to be game breaking (spirit healer). Game is just fail rush job.
The way these guys are showing it to us right here is like there was another game or a huge story about the champion in origins or smthing. It's history... what history... From the demo (and numerous interviews) I have surmised that it starts in the same timeframe of DA:O but DA2 is played through 10 years so it moves away from the time in which DA:O took place
@jjderz They start at the same time--with the emerging blight on Ferelden. But in Dragon Age II, you move into the Free Marches, and experience a 10-year span, rather than a 2-3 year span.

What I really don't like it's the Mass Effect 2 dialogue options, I'd rather DA:O dialogues, where I know the exactly the words I'm going to spend and get more choices than "yes", "no", "maybe".
I have to say if the music in the background of this video is the game soundtrack then DA2 soundtrack will be awesome. DAO soundtrack was ok but it felt lacking, it had one or two good tracks the rest was kind of bland with a lot of synthesized sounding instruments. But this one sounds pretty good so far, here's to hoping all the tracks sounds great.

@Ekzodar BioWare said something along the lines of "your choices in DAO will effect dialogue and gameplay durin DAII" and they also said that your warden might make an appearance. Still, it's only still speculation.
I really hope i will be able to meet King Alistair, Queen Anora, Leliana, but most importantly - My Dalish Warden!
Hawke and Warden meeting... might be hard to pull off, but i have confidence BioWare would succeed in making such a thing. Would be pretty awesome to see or maybe duel my Warden!

@yellaturd It's like your character in Origins. The family name is predefined, the first name is not. You can name your character Mike Hawke, for instance.

@TheDaneTuts I think thats up to the player, sacrifice or not to sacrifice, you decide, much like in Dragon Age : Origins. Or maybe, there is a fixed ending, which would have been bad in origins, but since you are use a pre determined champion, it wouldn't be so bad, but its not like Bioware to make a fixed ending.
This game looks great. I just have a few problems, that I don't know if they are actually problems, I am just worried. First off, I thought the graphics should be an upgrade, but it actually looks alot more.... Cartoony? Whatever, also. I love playing on the PC version, and it looks like the combat will be odd, but if it is, I will just buy it on the 360, or Ps3. Also, cheers for Bioware.

I don't like that we're playing a pre-determined character in DA2. I liked that in Origins, you had a blank slate and you could create who you were. Sometimes I wanted to play the game as a spiteful elf and be rude to all humans and let them die - another time I played as an honorable human who respects everyone. AS Hawke, well, you're a human with a story already written for you. It's something I didn't like in Mass Effect, and I probably won't like it in DA2.

@liocikas1 ^_^ I know what they said. The dynamic of the story have been known for some time now, but it doesn't change my point. Having a pre-made character with a voice of his own will confine the amount of personality you can imbue in your character. It's a bit like when you read a book and they make a movie, but what you thought the character should be and sound like is nothing like he's acted.

On a side note, opinions on whether DA2 is better than DAO are invalid until the game is released to the public. Though as good as Bioware is, EA's recent management is causing many doubts. Its true, sue me.

Anyone know if I would be able to see anything about my mighty blood magic wielding arcane warrior in the sequel?
I know that if you have the first, some parts may be affected, but I'm wondering about statues, people telling stories, legends, things like that
Or is my imported save file just gonna bring some flashbacks to origins like "Oooh, I did that, cool.." or is it actually gonna affect he gameplay, anyone that can answer this? :)

@Ekzodar BioWare said something along the lines of "your choices in DAO will effect dialogue and gameplay durin DAII" and they also said that your warden might make an appearance. Still, it's only still speculation.

I really hope i will be able to meet King Alistair, Queen Anora, Leliana, but most importantly - My Dalish Warden!
Hawke and Warden meeting... might be hard to pull off, but i have confidence BioWare would succeed in making such a thing. Would be pretty awesome to see or maybe duel my Warden!

It sucks being broke, I've got a month or so to scrounge up enough cash to get either this or crysis 2. The problem about dragon age is that when im not bored with it its the best game ever but as soon as i get slightly bored i can't play it even slightly but i know crysis will be good so i can't decide. no idea why i decided to post this but what ya gonna do.

@TheDaneTuts I think thats up to the player, sacrifice or not to sacrifice, you decide, much like in Dragon Age : Origins. Or maybe, there is a fixed ending, which would have been bad in origins, but since you are use a pre determined champion, it wouldn't be so bad, but its not like Bioware to make a fixed ending.

This game looks great. I just have a few problems, that I don't know if they are actually problems, I am just worried. First off, I thought the graphics should be an upgrade, but it actually looks alot more.... Cartoony? Whatever, also. I love playing on the PC version, and it looks like the combat will be odd, but if it is, I will just buy it on the 360, or Ps3. Also, cheers for Bioware.

I don't like that we're playing a pre-determined character in DA2. I liked that in Origins, you had a blank slate and you could create who you were. Sometimes I wanted to play the game as a spiteful elf and be rude to all humans and let them die - another time I played as an honorable human who respects everyone. AS Hawke, well, you're a human with a story already written for you. It's something I didn't like in Mass Effect, and I probably won't like it in DA2.

@liocikas1 ^_^ I know what they said. The dynamic of the story have been known for some time now, but it doesn't change my point. Having a pre-made character with a voice of his own will confine the amount of personality you can imbue in your character. It's a bit like when you read a book and they make a movie, but what you thought the character should be and sound like is nothing like he's acted.
