I can name a "big" YouTubers that have been reported and removed multiple times. Two examples are TimothyDeLaGhetto's first account. It was terminated a couple years back. Another would be LifeInATent, who happens to be just like you. You make videos on ideas that you believe can be strongly supported but most of the time you're wrong. Even in this video you're ranting about the employees of YouTube - the same company that, most of us can tell, pays for your living.
I watched that video, and when it got to the part about those above the 100K sub line being protected ("Oh, there's one set of rules!!"), I was just thinking, "BULLSHIT". Of course the Shane Dawsons and RWJs of YouTube are going to be protected to some degree, because it's good business.

I don't think youtube should allow big companies to post their stuff on youtube if other's can't promote the same thing. They can post Metallica, but if we do it gets taken down. If we're both promoting the same thing and not making mola off of it, how is it losing business, if anything it's promoting their videos more. Youtube also offers you money for attaching their advertisements to your videos if you have enough views, and is your ORIGINAL video, so why are we being discriminated against?
Also calling it, I said when google bought youtube it would go to hell because the last owners had 20+ copyright agreements so people could post whatever they wanted, but google is too cheap :/

We do music videos to our own songs and skits (and occasional vlogs) and I can honestly say that they're really well done/ well edited, but they just don't get the hits I feel they deserve. (although two have hit 100,000 each). Anyway, you seem to have found your niche and a solid viewership. Maybe in time I'll have that too...
I have 11,000 subscribers and my last two videos got 650 and 1300 hits respectively. That means that I have pretty much the same ratio with hits to subscribers as willofdc. in order for me to get 3 to 4000 hits or more per video, I have to spend the bulk of two days promoting each video I do; writing messages to contacts in my address book, sharing the video on various websites etc. With the last two vids, I didn't have internet at home so I couldn't promote it asides from the usual (cont)
though if youtube outright said it they would stir up bad publicity and maybe even legal action of some sort. i'm not defending what youtube is doing, just reasoning why they're doing it

I've to agree. See I Germany is going on a copyright war between Youtube and the Gema (copyright holders). And youtube started this year to write "yeah... you can't see this video because it could be (or is) a copyright violation in your country." So they block "all" videos in Germany for music in it, they don't know is it a copyright violation or not. But it never happened to top youtubers, even if it's a 100% copyright violation. Youtube protects top youtubes if it comes to copyright.

That means that I have pretty much the same ratio with hits to subscribers as willofdc. in order for me to get 3 to 4000 hits or more per video, I have to spend the bulk of two days promoting each video I do; writing messages to contacts in my address book, sharing the video on various websites etc. With the last two vids, I didn't have internet at home so I couldn't promote it asides from the usual (cont)

I've to agree. See I Germany is going on a copyright war between Youtube and the Gema (copyright holders). And youtube started this year to write "yeah... you can't see this video because it could be (or is) a copyright violation in your country." So they block "all" videos in Germany for music in it, they don't know is it a copyright violation or not. But it never happened to top youtubers, even if it's a 100% copyright violation. Youtube protects top youtubes if it comes to copyright.

Actually, the executives have nothing to do with the rules of the website. They simply throw money at the thing and handle the business side of everything. Very rarely will executives have the time or knowledge to know about the little things, like rules that are enforced on a website.
