  • She states "different oppinion...[she] believes in something different...it's important to express [them]."

However, even though I support gay marriage, I don't go around forcing straight people to marry the same-sex. if you want to marry the opposite sex, go for it.

Voting yes on 8 is not just expressing a belief but using your belief to physically restrict a group of people from gaining public access to something you have freely available. I don't see how that is fair or correct.

  • What is considered to be "family values?" And does family values solely comes from a married man and woman?

By restricting Marriage to be between a man and a woman, how does this maintain family values?

High divorce rates, adultery, polygamy, child abuse, child neglect, child abandonment, and so many other factors all emerge from heterosexual couples.

Instead of denying the gay community marriage, we should be working harder to repair damages of these values through other efficient mean.

  • There is no such thing as separate but equal!!

    marriage-domestic partnership?

  • Here is what it really goes down to: Should we make the basis of bearing and raising kids irrelevant to ultimately just the wants of consenting adults(in Europe adults are increasingly just cohabiting. Why bother with marriage if it has nothing to do w/kids?) or are we to keep the paradigm of the bearing and raising of kids as paramount regarding the concerns for the ideal of society? Sorry, but 2 men/2 women can't produce kids nor raise them as Mom & Dad. A man & woman ONLY can do both.

  • @Aegius In response to your conclusion: There is absolutely no objective evidence that marriage is the best way of raising children. It is a religious tradition that the government was stupid enough to become involved in.

    And again:

Since 50% of straight marriages end in divorce, how the hell is that the ideal environment to raise children?

  • @bookwormsrcool Marriage existed BEFORE the rise of government. It predates civilization going back to mating as was always done of male:female for raising the kids. Yes, homosexuality existed, but no one ever considered marriage as being male:male or female:female as it was always understood that children are best raised in families with both a mother AND a father as they are entitled to that as that is how they entered the world. That is universal.

  • check out gay family values on youtube. do some research to see who really is affected by this....

  • Religious freedom is freedom to believe FOR YOURSELF, not for everybody else. Some Churches, Synagogues and Temples celebrate same-sex marriage. Some people are agnostics or atheists or interfaith. So if two people of the same sex want to get married and that falls into their own religious beliefs or morals they should be able to get married. IF WE UPHELD RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. Our government should not be defining religious relationships nor kinship on religious grounds. Hitler already did that

  • Though I disagree with many of her claims; not a legal difference, gay friends makes a difference, supporting family values etc.. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to refute each claim in the limited space available, but to the others out there that are like me and disagree with her views for whatever reasons should be ashamed by how crass and failiable their counters are. Even if you disagree be polite she is in giving her reasons for her beliefs.

All for one one for all TH04

  • i love how some of the people of yes to prop 8 at first acted like they weren't trying to ban gay marriage and before you knew it they banned it, way to be honest

  • Wow, gay people would have the same rights? There is one big right that would be taken away for gay people the right to get married.

  • wtf i know this girl shes a full on lesbian, I fisted her the other day

  • well guess wht diccheads i doubt that gay people give a fuck about your opinion, dare to be different and they've been doin it pretty good, you people by into what society thinks far too much, live your own life with your own opinions. this country stands for freedom free to do damn near what you want but get married because you like the same sex.. seems pretty fucked up to me

  • There is no right to marriage. It is a privilege as mutual consent is required and restrictions must be overcome. Maybe we should allow for siblings to marry, or more than 2 people to married at once? BTW, 1/7 of gays oppose same-sex marriage as they understand that heterosexuality is best for society as that is how kids are produced and children are raised w/ a mother and father.

  • 1) Gays don't have the same rights in a domestic partnership. Google it to find out what important rights domestic partnerships lack.

    2) What family values does it support? How are any straight couple's kids affected by whether gays can marry?

    3) Marriage is traditionally between a man and 5 woman. Obviously that changed, but if you want to fall back on tradition, then let's use reality instead of something that looks good in a 30 second ad

  • 1)Per CA Family law 297.5 domestic partnerships have the same benefits as marriage. 2)Children may be deprived of either a mom or a dad as gay couples can't provide for both & kids are entitled to & need both as that is how they enterred this world. Next if homosexuality & heterosexuality are put en par, it will create sexual confusion as that is already occurring in MA. Heterosexuality is best for society as kids are produced that way. 3)Irrelevent. Marriage has always been male-female anyway.

  • @Aegius Marriage was once not allowed between blacks and whites. Divorce was once outlawed. The definition of marriage has been changed many times before, and we will change it again. I bet you are one of those bigots who still thinks blacks and whites should have separate water fountains. Grow. Up.

  • @bookwormsrcool None of that pertains to same-sex marriage. A man and woman of different races can produce kids. 2 men or 2 women regardless of race can't. Divorce is irrelevant here. One can oppose same-sex marriage, yet have no prob with interracial marriage as one can favor keeping the paradigm of marriage for the bearing and raising of kids & because there are no psychological differences in race, but many via sex. You grow up.

  • @Aegius Really? That's your rationale for your discrimination? 1) Gay couples CAN produce children via surrogates or they can adopt children, 2) who are you to say that the differences in psychology between the sexes are greater than those between races (you are not two genders or two races, so you have nothing to compare to)? Also, you really think marriage is some ideal paradigm that should be upheld??? 50% of marriages end in divorce. Many families not involved in divorce probably would be

  • @bookwormsrcool 1)Gay couples CANNOT reproduce. 2 men/2 women can't reproduce. 2)A child is best w/both a mom & dad, not 2 dads w/o mom or 2 moms w/o dad. So what about divorce? Divorce and break-ups would and do happen with gays. That's irrelevant. The question is what is best for society and kids. Man+woman = procreation. Man + Man = nothing. Woman + woman = nothing. Race is irrelevant here, because a man & woman of different races can reproduce and raise kids as mom & dad.

  • @Aegius 1) They CAN reproduce via surrogate (with a donated egg) or with donated sperm (depending on the gender). Also, does it really matter? You are worried that the planet is suffering from too FEW humans being born? No. It's suffering from overpopulation, so why do you care? 2) That is simply your opinion and you have nothing to back that up with.

No, it's NOT irrelevant. It's silly you're trying to exclude people from having families when many families are already broken. It would be

  • @bookwormsrcool Sorry, but surrogate means that another person was involved. 2 gay men + 1 woman or 2 gay women + man still upholds the reality that it takes a man + woman to produce the kids. Gay couples CANNOT produce by themselves. My point stands. The growing concern around the world is rapidly declining population due to too low birth rate as in Japan, Russia, Europe, Canada and elsewhere, and not overpopulation. Yes, you were taught garbage in college.

  • @Aegius I actually take your insults as compliments. If you seriously think that the main problem of population is that the fertility rates in developed nations are decreasing, I can not help you. It is true, however, that the overall population of the world is increasing rapidly. Also, please note, that the birth rates in developing nations are also decreasing (that is why this population explosion will eventually level off).

  • @bookwormsrcool Birth rates are plummeting world wide. Cuba is down to 1.6. Iran: 1.9. Palestinians: 2.7. I could go on about it. The point is that underpopulation is the growing concern, not overpopulation. Thank you for pointing out that gay couples CANNOT reproduce by themselves. That's 1 reason why str8 couples should be the ideal: they can, while gays can't. Str8 couples can also provide both a mom & dad for the kids, not just mom or a dad. cont..

  • @Aegius better to focus on FIXING families.

Also, you talk about what is best for society. There are almost 7 billion people on the planet right now. This trend looks like it will peak at 9 billion in 2050 (source: The Economist). The LAST thing society needs right now is more humans. We're doing fine destroying the planet as it is.

Yes, I know there are gay addicts. However, it is ridiculous to say marriage is this divine institution that is necessary when 50% of straight marriages end in

  • @Aegius divorce.

Yes, I realize there are differences between the sexes in terms of parenting. But, please note, that doesn't make both styles necessary to raise a child.

    Brother anecdote: irrelevant.

There are obviously psychological differences between the races! But it doesn't come from nose shape and skin color. It comes from their socioeconomic situations. If someone is white, they see the world completely differently than their black friend does.

You are right--these movements are not

  • @bookwormsrcool You actually think that there are psychological differences in races? LOL!!! There may be differences in perceptions, but not in psychological or social nature. Were you taught that in college? In an Ivy League school? Divorce is IRRELEVANT for reasons given. Gays have break-ups too. Hence, so what? Gays can already get the same legal "rights" such as hospital visits per family law anyway in CA and elsewhere, so that isn't relevant either.

  • @Aegius Also, I wasn't saying that gay people can reproduce by themselves. I was saying they can have biological children, given it will only be related to one parent. Those changes in perceptions are exactly what I'm talking about! And, yes, there are differences in social behavior between the races, as well! It goes hand and hand with their socioeconomic situations. I am starting to think you keep throwing this college accusation about because you don't understand what I'm talking about.

  • @bookwormsrcool Social behavior regarding socioeconomic circumstances applies to Whites, Asians and everyone else. So what? There is no psychological or emotional difference regarding race. There are huge psychological and emotional differences regarding sex.

Now here the ?: Is there a difference between how a mom relates to the kids vs. a dad to the kids? Or are 2 moms or 2 dads just as good as a mom & dad for the kids? If you don't see a difference, so be it. I do.

  • @bookwormsrcool Do you actually think that there are psychological differences in the races? LOL! Yeah, skin color and nose shape causes the brain to be different! LOL! LMAO! What college did you learn that nonsense from? Please tell me that it was an Ivy League school. I frequently encounter such idiocy from people who attend such schools and preach utter nonsense and can't debate worth a darn.

  • @Aegius healthier if the parents were divorced because there are so many problems in the family. There are many parents who are drug addicts or don't give a crap about their children. There are many, MANY broken families. Why don't we, instead of trying to keep people from having families, focus on fixing families?

  • @bookwormsrcool All irrelevant. Gays have probs with drug addiction, alcoholism, abuse, etc as well. Let me ask you this: Do you see no difference between how a mother relates to a kid vs how a father relates to a kid? Or more precisely are there psychological and social differences between men and women that would lead to such differences in how the relate to kids? My brother was for same-sex marriage before he married his wife and had kids. Now he thinks same-sex marriage is ridiculous.

  • @bookwormsrcool Divorce is irrelevant and so is interracial marriage. There is no difference psychologically between the races, but numerous with the sexes. A man and woman of different races can produce kids and raise them as mother & father. 2 men or 2 women can't do either. I want to keep the paradigm of marriage as bearing and raising kids, which has nothing to do with race and divorce still may occur. Take that paradigm away and marriage becomes worthless.

  • fuck all of you gay bashing church-going bible-thumping biggots. i just saw the movie MILK, and it was fantastic what that man was able to do even when he had lost his electoion 3 times before he actualy won, and he had to stand up to the church goers that said that being gay was wrong. it is not wrong, it is not a choice, and every one should be allowed to be loved, and every one should be allowed to be married.

  • Gay marriage. Domestic partnership. Seperate but equal? Seperate is NEVER equal.

  • Support family values? How is that in SUPPORT for family values, when you are taking away family RIGHTS for gay couples? No, you support family values between a man and a woman only. Obviously, a woman and a woman or a man and a man married aren't considered FAMILY to you.

Oh, lucky you! You have a gay friend! Well guess what, sweetie? You aren't gay. Therefore, you don't know how it feels, to know that you can't marry the person you love.

  • Love a person as a friend. =D

  • Once again, your gay friends hate you. She sounds like the people who were pro-Jim Crow who would talk about the black friends they had in the 60's

  • since when is sexual orientation the same as skin color?

  • Since conservatives tried to deny them basic human rights.

  • I love how these people all say they have "gay friends" as if it were an excuse to bash them.

  • your right, it doesnt take away any rights from gay people.

they just never had the rights in the first place! NO on prop 8

  • Perfectly said, thank you!

  • @sparkylovesmangos Gays do have all their rights. Marriage is NOT a right. It is a privilege that requires mutual adherence and agreement and society's blessing. We don't allow for marriage between parent:child, between siblings, for more than one person either.

  • @sparkylovesmangos Gays have all their rights: vote, sit on juries and crimes recognized as such. Blacks didn't have such rights under Jim Crow, so don't even go there. It is utterly despicable of gay "rights" activists to trivialize and demean the REAL Civil Rights movement that fought for such REAL RIGHTS. Marriage is NOT a right. It is a privilege due to mutual adherence & agreement and society's blessing.

  • @Aegius the same. And whatever you want to call it, there are certain legal rights that come with marriage, such as hospital visitation, that gay people do NOT have access to. Personally, I think it would have been better for the government to not have become involved in marriage at all. Then people could have the same legal rights without the stupid religious controversies. I don't really care if marriage is called marriage. I just want everyone to have the same rights.

  • @bookwormsrcool Marriage is NOT a right. Gays already have the same rights as everyone else as stated. You don't care if "marriage is called marriage". Good, then let them have their domestic partnerships/civil unions and the ideal for society and kids can be father/mother for the kids and not mother/mother or father/father for the kids next to it. Again, divorce is IRRELEVANT as gays have break-ups, et al too.

  • @Aegius Divorce: Relevant for reasons already described. Also, civil partnerships don't have all the same rights as marriage.

For the sake of this argument, lets say marriage predates government. Well, so did homosexuality. And obviously homosexuals and many straight people DON'T agree that children are best raised in families with both a mother and a father. That is the farthest thing from universal out of your entire argument. That is YOUR personal belief. And you say I can't debate...

  • @bookwormsrcool Divorce is irrelevant for reasons described: Gays have break-ups, et al too. Besides it won't go against the ideal as Murphy's Law can't be dismissed. Civil partnerships do have all the same rights as marriage per CA Family law.

Since ancient times universally it has been regarded that kids are best raised with both a mom & dad. Only in our era of idiocy, so many people see no differences between the sexes, so 2 moms or 2 dads or 1 parent is just as good as mom & dad for them.

  • Murphy's Law always happens. So what? You don't dismiss ideals due to Murphy's Law, or you won't have ideals. Divorce is Murphy's Law. Besides break-ups, et al occur with gays too, so it is irrelevant.

Now regarding idiots who see Mom & Dad as not the ideal for kids, yes, they are fools as they see no difference between the sexes or the different contributions and needs that can be provided to kids that ONLY both a Mom & Dad can provide.

  • @bookwormsrcool Re your debates: you keep dumping race into this. Race is irrelevant and gays have no business comparing their situation in 2010 to Blacks in 1960. It's demeaning and insulting to the real horrors that Blacks faced and struggles for real rights that the fought for. Marriage isn't a right. They fought for real rights: vote, sit on juries, and crimes recognized as such. That is where your stupidity in part comes from: & stating psychological differences via race. It's moronic.

  • Further comparing not allowing interracial marriage to not allowing same-sex marriage is stupid. There is no comparison. A man & woman of different races can produce kids and raise them as mom & dad. 2 men or 2 women of any racial background can't do either. Race has nothing to do with the ideal of father/mother/kids nor to change it to 2 moms/kids or 2 dads/kids as equally ideal to dad/mom/kids. It's further insulting to Blacks as well to make such a ridiculous comparison.

  • @Aegius You know it shows that someone is not confident in their argument when they start insulting people. Again, thanks for the colorful compliments!

  • @bookwormsrcool I pointed out how people like you insulted me and Blacks far more than anything I did toward you now.

You played the race card. You demeaned and insulted Blacks in their struggles and horrors that they endured. You made the idiotic and ridiculous comparison between not allowing same-sex marriage with not allowing interracial marriage which was insulting to me and to Blacks. You are far worse of insulting than I am, by a long shot. You are a race-baiter.

  • @bookwormsrcool & you want to talk insults. You played the race card in this debate. It is dishonest, manipulative, and despicable. Race has nothing to do with this issue, yet proponents of same sex marriage inject race into it all the time. You insult and demean Blacks in the horrors that they faced and struggles that they endured for REAL rights, when comparing this struggle for a non-existent right. There is no right to marriage including to the same sex. You have insulted me & Blacks a lot.

  • Notice ergrgrgrg has no valid arguement to support prop 8, just like this lame chick on the video. Ergrgrgrg's only defense is to call those who don't agree with him FAGGOTS. With all his gay friends, he uses that word pretty quickly and freely.

  • How dare you look into the camera and say you love your gay friends.

  • faggot. YES ON 8

  • Definitely yes on 8.....but calling someone a faggot doesn't help.

  • You're a phony bigot. "Some of my best friends are gay" doesn't work anymore. If you're best friends who were gay saw this video, they'd kick you to the curb sweetie.

  • please dont call prop 8 supporters bigots. Faggot.

  • please don't call prop 8 opponents faggots. Bigot.

  • You are a fucking IDIOT.

Do you not know the definition of a Bigot?

Because that's exactly how you're coming off, Bigot.

  • damn right, that line has failed SO much recently, why bother saying it. this videos a load of shit.

  • shame on you for voting someone's civil rights away when people fought for women's rights to vote. YOU DENY YOUR GAY FRIENDS RIGHTS. HOW COULD YOU BETRAY THEM.

  • It doesn't take any legal rights away?

    How about marriage?

    DUMB STUPID WHITE WHORE

    I HAVE GAY FRIENDS LOL

  • Very mature and productive of you.

  • Since when did abusive language and opposition to freedom of speech coincide with TOLERANCE? We have a lot of work to do on both sides of the equation, people. The sooner we can all admit it, the sooner we can all agree on a solution to stop the hate.

  • just fyi no, gay couples with domestic partnerships don't have the same rights as legally married couples do. before you make an argument, you should get your facts right.

  • u ignorant bitch lol....Im still laughing at you. I wish u were born a dyke!!!

  • she is already lol

  • i dont live in california and am unaware as to wether or not they have domestic partnership (one which offers ALL of the same rights)

question! if we have all of the SAME rights, why cant we marry?

  • if i lived in california. or even in america. i now know i would vote YES to prop "this girl is a twat"

  • If you want to protect marriage why don't you make adultery and divorce illegal????????????

  • Preach!!! "Gay people threaten my marriage" DUMB FUCK, Divorce, cheating, and infidelity threaten you so called "Sacred" bond which only has a 50% chance of suceeding by the way which shows u just how "holly" it is. I honestly cannot believe how easily these yes on 8 bigots are brainwashed I feel like its 1820 and im off to get my lynching rope: this is despicable!!!

  • Umm, in 1820, blacks were still enslaved. It wasn't called lynching until they were free i 1865. And gay marriages would be hardly prone to last much longer or more than 50% of the time either.

  • ...she has gay friends, but just doesn't want them to get married, she must be some friend...

  • marriage is not a right for gays, what purpose with they want to marry? to be "normal"? plz B honest with your self, no species in nature could survive as gay, its not natural, why chase after normalcy, ain't a gay lifestyle good enough? my guess is that its really a sex addiction, probably as strong as pedophilia, since practitioners in both delude themselves that its normal love

picture Freddy Mercury & Elton John in drag, calling each other Suzy & Sally, yes thats so natural, w/pink tutus

  • Wow, a little homophobic are we? Homosexuality is, in fact, natural. Natural means "occurring in nature", and since about 10% of any given population, animals included, are homosexual, it is natural. The heterosexual majority ensures the survival of the species, so your argument really has no basis.

Why do gays want to marry, you ask? Uh... maybe for the same reasons heterosexuals want to marry? Just a guess.

  • Like he stated, gays would never be able to survive.

  • Thanks Navajo for bringing that up: Its unnatural and its a choice can both be condriticted with science, research, and facts which can not be debated nor can it be desputed which is more than I can say for the subjective and contextualized readings of the bible.

  • YOU ARE THE MAN!! TELL 'EM!

  • This bitch is so uninformed and undereducated. She says that voting Yes will support family values? So gay couples don't have family values? Only man and woman marriages have family values?

This bitch is just stupid. If gays are allowed to marry, a man and a woman can still marry. You can have your "family values" in your marriage. But don't take away people's rights because YOU don't think they have family values. STUPID FUCKING BITCH!

  • nasty little mouth, where has it been?

    intelligent, articulate, logical discussion

apparently is not what gay marriage is about

if gay marriage were an accepted custom in Cal, why are there no other countries with that custom? if it were natural, you would expect that there would be a long history of same-sex unions, but alas only in US, the ancient Greek model was padastry, not marriage & apparently started as a form of elite birth-control. guess it works, exactly how is it natural?

  • Here's some logical, articulate, logical discussion about gay marriage. You say gay marriage isn't allowed in other countries -- you are wrong. Canada, Norway, Spain, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Belgium all allow gay marriage. In the US, Massachusetts and Connecticut all gay marriage. You need to educate yourself, my friend.

  • Sorry but you Christians need to figure out if you believe the ENTIRE old testament, and stop selecting the bits you want...requiring a rapist to marry his victim or the jealous husband forcing his wife to drink poisonous liquid or "Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material," Lev. 19:19 or "Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear," Deut. 22:12). Please stop trying to impose your inconsistent and incoherent views of morality on everyone else.

  • ok buddy its school time... There is a difference between the old and new covenants (testaments) one is old and one is new. the newer being the one that covers the old. So your tassle argument is void along with the rest of them. And remember its adam and eve not adam and steve.

  • Ok, now it's school time for you, junior. I think people of the Jewish faith would disagree with you that the new testament negates the old testament. In fact, most religions (and agnostics, and atheists) don't believe in the new testament at all. Only you Christians do. Which is fine, but don't be forcing your beliefs on the rest of us.

PS - Adam and Eve is a myth. Look into something called evolution, you might be surprised.

  • She's so uneducated and mis-informed about the real world and basic common sense. Hard to believe that people like this still exist is 2008.

  • haha this girl is either getting lied to, or just fucking dumb.

  • wow, you couldn't even go one sentence without hurling a personal insult. At least you were able to use the f-word.

  • Just bigotry, disguised in nice-nice clothing.

  • It takes a village......And yours has more than one idiot. What about their religious freedoms? What about their personal freedoms?

It does not change anything for the church (because of the separation of church and state) it changes what it means for the state legally. All citizens should have equal civil rights. Does this woman forget (or was never told) what all woman went thru for Universal Suffrage? Our education system has truely failed us.

  • this is terrible you have just voted a black leader my god who care about who people love as long as there is love in the world i mean i dont care if people are straight what they do in there bedroom is there busness so why should straight people care what gay people do in the bedroom why is it any of there busness why do you hater care so much your fucking crazy and i no gay parents that are such great parents and are better than alot of straight parents

  • god bless you sister!

  • shut up and die you stupid bitch

  • Gays come from families too, not Mars. Gay marriage isn't mandatory, they won't force you to have one, so your claim that you're "protecting the family" is specious.

You're a bigot who feathers your own nest by preventing others.

  • PPS: Since the day you launched this video? How many gay friends of yours that knows about this video had gotten back with you and actually mingled again with you. You are a fine definition of segregatory person.

  • I really wish you the best in fighting for something you already have (this sounds like a whole lot of nothing why the effort you already have it) Are telling you gay friends that you finally came out with the falseness of your friendship with them . I will give a hint "watch the movie BI-Centennial Man" See if you could get the lesson in this movie if not check back with me and I will explain why.

  • So everyone's opinions should have a legal standpoint that takes away from someone else's lifestyle? If I prefer brunettes to blondes, blondes should have to pay a higher sales tax. I mean, why not? It's my opinion.

  • I'll tell you what, if you can get over 50% of California to ratify that belief as a law, then yeah - I do believe it should become a law. That's what representational government is. That however is a ridiculous law and would never pass.

  • A lot of ridiculous laws get passed. It's whether or not the people support them that says a lot more.

  • 50 years from now, hopefully, we'll look back on prop 8 and say it's "a ridiculous law that would never pass." In the Jim Crow south, discriminatory laws were put in place on a regular basis through "representational government". Does that mean majority rule is ALWAYS legitimate? No. That's why we have supreme courts, to uphold people's right when they're not protected by the democratic process. Which is why I'm terrified that CA overturned the ruling of a court that was meant to extend rights.

  • I cant belive you tried to use your "gay friend card" Im sure that card has been revoked now after they have seen this. We live in america equality for all and now we have had those rights taken from us. I cant belive after all america has been thru with all the ignorance, hate, discrimination that we even had this prop 8. Its LOVE and thats all it is we only want the same right to express it as a man and women have together. This fight is not over.

  • IM SORRY... I voted yes and feel like shit, im sorry the more i think about it i realize gay marriage wouldnt affect my marriage and im sorry for trying to restrict your lives..IM SORRY

  • Aren't you from Florida? You're not referring to P8.

  • fuck religion

  • PIN HEAD!

  • i dont get this. straight people will still get married just that gay people can to. what are people talking about "protecting family values"? god..

  • Holy shit. Stop with the forced sense of compassion. On behalf of 90% of gay people, WE DID NOT ASK FOR NOR DO WE DESIRE YOUR FRIENDSHIP. I can't speak for the other 10%, whom for all I know enjoy arbitrary bouts of sadomasochism. But please, you have nothing but a tainted will before us, and we would prefer if you were more honest with your disdain. Don't sprinkle pixie dust on the giant turd that is your flawed logic.

  • KILL ALL MORMONS<

    then BAN ALL DIVORCES

  • and all of your gay friends are not going to be friends with you when and if they find out that you voted against prop 8!

  • Respecrful? America has seen so much hate, we understand that we must fight it (at least some of us). The proponets of Prop 8 state the same arguements of 'protecting the sanctity of marriage' as racist that opposed interracial marriage. Racist America also used the Bible to oppose blacks' rights and women's right. This is a repeat of assaults on civil rights. Same mind, same arguements, same motivation, new faces. And remember it took courts to overturn segregation (Jim Crow Laws) for EQUALITY.

  • you have gay friends. you betrayed them. totally gross and evil

  • I think she is being resentful because she hasn't had any in years.

  • So why do we have to accept you and legalization of Gay Marriage? We just HAVE to agree with the rest of you? This girl is speaking in a calm manner and expressing her point of view and your over here bashing her. You would of had more validity if you had disputed her in a RESPECTFUL manner.

  • and no its not taught in schools it will just undersood there is nothing wrong with gay people getting married. Which the children dont have a problem with. But the parents do b/c they jump to the past to decide what the future should hold. Basically the way they were brought up with a mom and a dad is the only way they think. That is how people justify the future. The now means nothing but tradition means alot. So ignorant. Love is love ignorance is ignorance

  • You are so wrong.

  • Do you message posters realize how badly you make your cause look when you use your fowl mouths instead of a Rational Discussion. Both Sides Play Nice and show the world your example. Most of the No's I have seen on this site are bashing and complaining but not giving a rational at all. I personally am Voting Yes on Prop 8 for the reason that they already have the same rights and I would be happy to help them get their rights at a federal level too without redefining marriage. Yes on 8

  • We need to change the name of our country from USA to the Peoples Republic of the Latter Day Saints.

  • Enough is enough! Only the facts will answer everyone's questions and opinions. Please view the facts at: .com/watch?v=4JZIJnJWZBQ

  • ..cont from below...If we look to Galatians 3:28, we find that all are equally blessed in the eyes of Jesus Christ. If this is so, why wouldn't He also bless marriages between partners of the same sex?

We live in a democracy, and our founders took great pains to keep church and state separate. The constitution's purpose is to protect all of the American people. Let's keep this in mind when we vote. If there was ever a time when we could use a lot of Christ Love, that time is clearly now.

  • he has conditions, he has commandments, he designed marriage a certain way. If you understand scriptures you get the point. Keep in mind who he was speaking to in that scripture, and under which context, you are misrepresenting that scripture. Research what church and state really applies to, it sounds like you aren't using it correctly.

  • OHHHH...Of course, it all makes sense NOW. Thank you Stationsla08!!! After reading YOUR interpretation of the Bible, I now know I was wrong. Silly me. I must have been sleeping the day my small town conservative pasture read passage from Galatians. Tell ya what Stationsla08, SPARE ME YOUR ILL-FATED ATTEMPT AT SELLING ME YOUR SINGLE-MINDED LINE OF RELIGIOUS CRAP! You are the perfect example as to why PROP 8 MUST FAIL! Why don't you go spend time fighting polygamy and give the gays a break.

  • By tons of gay friends do you mean like myspace friends. Because I actually have some gay friends and because I actually am friends with them I understand their struggles I understand the hatred they face from the so called loving religious people

  • Prop 8 is to gay marriage as Separate But Equal was to black rights. Not everyone shares the same religious beliefs, this whole proposition is flawed. Lets stick to separation of church and state shall we. SSM will actually end up being helpful, to teach children to start accepting others for who they are(goes for every issue, not just gay marriage). Can we say goodbye to school violence?

  • you have alot of gay friends? great...

    so what?

You can express your opposition to ssm all you want, you can have you religious freedom all you want, but same sex couples (including, bisexual people, not just HOMOSEXUALS) still have the rights to civil marriage.

  • Vote Yes on Prop 8

  • I actually think this makes some sense (making it the only piece of this set not completely idiotic), however saying only opposite-sex marriages are actual marriages is like saying 'you can sit here, but not there'. I respect your wanting to 'protect family values', but same-sex marriages don't attack families in any way, all it does is promote acceptance and destroy the barriers our society has made between sexual-orientation. Stop the hate, stop discrimination, stop homophobia, vote no on 8.

  • Christians are full of hatred and go out of their ways to make sure that Christianity and homosexuality can not be reconciled. Their hate is unconditional and so stronger than their hypocritical love for God.

There have been a few mistranslated verses not matching the scripture in the versions of the Bible, the mistranslations do not even match between the different versions of the Bible.

Christian's hearts have been consumed by hatred, hypocrisy, lies and are too corrupt 4 God's true words.

  • voting yes

  • "I don't believe that it takes away any of the legal rights of homosexuals."

Uhh, it takes away their right to MARRY!

    AHHH DUHHH!!!

  • voting no on prop 8

  • Marriage has not always been between a man and a woman, on the other hand Christian marriage always has been.

There are records around the world in several cultures that there were same sex unions/marriages that occurred.

in some native American tribes gay marriage and unions occurred

also in ancient Japan. Male Male love was considered the purest love.

Melanesia and in Papua New Guinea, before the introduction of Christianity homosexual relationships were the only recognized relationship

  • yes on 8

  • 0:06 Gay gamily values exempted

0:18 Separate being equal in your eyes

0:28 You just said separate is not equal

0:49 That you believe your friends love is less meaningful than your own

  • "They're already afforded all the same rights"

BIG Prop 8 lie, designed to make voters feel a little less squeamish about writing discrimination against their neighbors into the Constitution. The truth is that there are hundreds of rights reserved for marriage alone that will disappear in an instant from 11,000 presently married couples if this thing passes. My husband loses his health insurance next Weds. morning if 8 passes because my company legally covers spouses but not domestic partners.

  • ok that was a lame arguement

  • No on prop 8!

If yes on prop 8 then they should not allow divorce to protect their marriage. prop 8 is very discriminating and can't protet their marriage at all cuz the US has the highest divorce cases in the world..that means they can't protect their marriage..prop is very discriminating!

  • Correction. You HAD a lot of gay friends.

  • Same rights?

I am a spanish gay guy living in the USA. If an american guy wants to marry me, he can't. Once my VISA is over, I would have to go back to Spain, and my american boyfriend would have to come with me, or we would have to break up.

Your gay friends don't have the same rights you have.

It seems that the word "marriage" is more important for some people than the rights for their friends.

It is sad that I can get married in Spain, one of the most catholic country, but not in the USA

  • 8 is going down like a sinking ship I HOPE all of you gay people see how Californians really feel about homosexual lifestyles. When 8 fails I might go celebrate by boning this lesbian I know and sending the pics to her Bull

  • LMAO, dude you are so right. I TOTALLY AGREE with you. Prop 8 will pass. I'm voting yes and am encouraging everyone to vote yes.

I already have a lesbo in mind I'm gonna bone.

  • SEPARATE BUT EQUAL DOES NOT MEAN EQUAL. Didn't we learn this back in the fifties??

    VOTE NO ON 8!!

  • You say you support Prop 8 for "FAMILY VALUES". Without exception every gay person I know has had a mother and father and family. Why do you exclude gay people as part of the family many have children? Why is changing the State Constitution to target a group of for discrimination is a good thing? Very strange.

  • lol, what an uninformed Bigot! Vote NO on 8!

Don't include DISCRIMINATION in our Constitution! NO ON 8

  • How can you have GAY FRIENDS and not support what makes them happy??? I'm sick of hypocrites...

  • You don't believe that this takes away rights? MARRIAGE IS A RIGHT NOT A PRIVILEGE. A family is about love and love does not know any sexual orientation. The main point here is that equality is not something that you can deny someone. You can get married to the man you love, why can't a man marry the man he loves? Your "family values" can be exactitude by gay couples. You can not deny rights! You are a woman, at one point you didn't have rights, how can you sit here and deny others theirs?

  • Your gay friends must be so sad to know that you would use your rights to deny theirs... Seriously. Let's honor the equality provided for us in our constitution, rather than change the constitution to prevent honest Californians from exercising their rights to equality. Be a big enough Christian and vote with Christ's Love - a love for ALL and an acceptance of EVERYONE as equal, sinner or saint. Be generous and share the right to marry!!

  • The Girl in this video is so stupid... what are "family values" huh? ya you dont know...it's not like gay people are going to come in to your house and teach your children that a man and a man can get married... and if you say that there going to teach it in school WELL YOUR WRONG i was never tough marriage in school and i think that the school never will.

  • Who the hell are these people to tell other people what "family values" are? Where is this clear definition of family values? It varies from family to family, gay or not. Get a grip you bunch of ignorant disgraces.

Oh, and I'm not gay, but I would vote NO on that ridiculous, out of date, proposition.

  • 1)(a blending of church and state that shouldn't be allowed to influence government, no religion should be respected over another)

Firstly, the people of the state of Ca. which is overwhelmingly Democrat, voted against gay marriage. This issue is not one of theocracy as you've implied. Secondly, your understanding of the word "respect" as it pertains to the 1st, is inaccurate.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion".

Respecting is used as to mean "regarding"

  • 2)This is obvious, since it would be ridiculous to think that the 1st C
