  • josh freese > travis barker

  • @nofxopivyrancid of course!!! who would argue otherwise???

  • When you like the drums and of course get them for free, I wouldn't leave DW either if I were him.

  • is not his middle name be "Crazy"?

  • ....but whatever, maybe he means that he hasn't found/heard anything that sounds better.

  • @blackwash DW drums really are, if not the best, some of the best

  • I am a big fan of Josh's playing and I'm sure he's being sincere, but "They make the best drums out there...I haven't played any other drums in twenty years" sounds kinda funny to me. It's like, "That restaurant makes the best soup around. I haven't tasted any other soup in twenty years."

  • josh freese grabo el ultimo disco de the offspring

    la verdad increible el tipo

the offspring - josh freese forever!!

  • Let the bad times roll.

  • Nine Inch Nails to Jewel to DEVO to The Vandals

    holy jesus

    Josh Freese is a god

  • The best drummer out there and started out with one the best punk bands out there, The Vandals. And anyone that says fuck punk is just a pussy.

  • He looks like Michael Schumacher.

  • @BFrost1

Muaahahaha!! True. Hard, but what can he do? :)

  • Amen

  • Aah! He is so cool! I can't stand it

  • possibly the best punk drummer ever...

  • Live Fast Diarrhea, got me hooked to Josh Freese.

  • he's more than just a punk drummer man

  • i know seriously, fuck punk. in APC hes got control over the weirdest time sigs and plays them very well. creative and technical. this guy's best work is in APC in my opinion

  • I agree, "APC" and "NIN - lights in the sky tour" are Josh in his prime.

  • @Smackenzieth I can't think of any APC songs that aren't in some variation of 4/4 or 3/4, maybe 6/8 but that's about it. Even so, I agree, what he does with whatever time signature is incredible, his drums on Orestes could be my favorite drumming on any song ever.

  • @guitaro11188 Gravity is in 7/8 for the most part. but yea most A Perfect Circle stuff is in either 4/4 or 6/8 (3/4). and Orestes definetly is one of my favourite Drumming song from them anyways

  • Yeah, But I know for a fact he played or plays Orange County Drums on and off again - Thats not "Loyal" to DW

  • I know for a fact that this...or maybe this is true....some of the time.

    Brilliant.

  • since when was OCDP a drum company and not just bling to put on his 'DW' kit

  • I worked for Drums Doctors for a year, he is a client, he had DW'S but e also had OCDP Kits there as well. Deal with it.

  • Vandals Sweatin' to the Oldies- Intense Josh Freese Action!! Such an inspiration.

  • Sorry to say that Sonor Phonic Plus drums with no wrap on them are THE BEST drums to ever have been made on this planet !!

  • Ah ah ah... sorry

  • You ain't never played a Brady snare then. They are the finest sounding drums on this green earth!

  • I usually only see metal drummers using sonor. I'm in a metal, alternative and a punk band and my DW set works perfect for everything, it's amazing, I love it

  • i posted in my videos.... a special video about Josh Freese recording an Evanescence Song, please comment me :)

  • Gonna miss him in Nine Inch Nails, but I can't blame him for wanting to spend more time with his family. The dude's on the road almost nonstop.

  • how about you take that dick out your mouth, bitch?

  • holy balls

  • In robot voice: JOSH FREESE!!!

I love this man...such diverse styles.

  • He's just a great musician. He's capable of playing so many different styles so easily. I mean, "death metal to Jewel"? That's just incredible.

  • one hell of a drum battle

    Josh Freese vs. Evan Johns

  • Josh Freese is one of the two drummers, that inspire me every day. (Other being Jojo Mayer.)

Of course, there are some, who catch my attention for a while, but Josh Freese affects my playing the most every single day!

And that makes him a great drummer for me.

  • As mentioned time and time before in this post, you can't compare the two. Both are outstanding percussionists in two different genres of music.

  • anybody seen biodome? he should be a lead in the sequel.

  • Check out the RimRiser! 21st century rim playing..

  • haha, i think its funny how endorsed artists say their drum company is the best. plus they HAVE to say it because its part of their endorsement. i use YAMAHA and i think their great. all the greats use different drums so i think all of them are great. like steve gadd and dave weckl use YAMAHA, mike portnoy has his TAMA kit, neil peart with his DW, and dennis chambers with his PEARL. its just all personal preference like with cymbals.

  • according to anyone who is endorsed by a company says their drums are the best, so you (or at least me) cant tell which ones are the best but personally i prefer gretsch

  • baaaaaaaadh, aguante pearl gato

  • Personally I enjoy them both equally. They're both different, but in terms of uniqueness I think I enjoy Danny a bit more. Just because when I listen to Freese most of the time its with NIN, and their style of music seems to be overlayed with 'techno patterns'. Which doesn't really allow me to 'zone in' on his drumming as clearly, but from his work with APC I have to say this makes them equally enjoyable.

  • Come back to Pensacola, Fl. Bayfront is gone, that only leaves the Civic Center.

  • ok .. ok ... how about Josh Vs. Animal (The Muppets)

    Dude that guy is insane

  • Stop with the Josh Vs. Danny thing. It's a silly one. We are such different players. I hear it alot and the only thing I could think of that would make people continually discuss this is because we both have bands with Maynard. There's no competition betweeen us. He's my pal and we have a great mutual respect for one another cuz we are so different and don't know how the other guys does it! He's one my favs and I don't play anything like him

  • I have seen you both live many times and in NO way is Josh's and Danny's style the same....Oh wait they both play drums though, i guess thats the connection...if you leave out the dude in a wig ;).

Josh keep doin what youy doin bro!! Best of luck.

  • Man, Josh, you are not only an extremely talented guy, but you have a pretty rare attitude in the music business - very down-to-earth and humble. Well done!

  • Hahahah well said. I'd actually really like to see a Danny v Josh drum battle, you've both got some ferocious groove goin on, really dig it.

I know! Let's compare James Iha and Adam Jones now!

PS does anyone else think it hilarious that people defend their favourite drummers not knowing how to spell their names?

  • the best drummer is mike portanoy of dream theater listen to the dark eternal night and you will know or watch the video

  • How about shutting up about Danny Carey? I don't think he's that much better (if at all) than Josh. He's certainly not as versatile. And besides, if technique is all it comes down to, just accept the fact that Chris Pennie annihilates them both.

  • danny > god

  • Doesn't matter, Chris is still better. And I am also not convinced Carey is actually better than Freese.

  • What?...Uh...

Maybe youve NEVER heard Danny Carey Play then....

  • ppl are so stupid...lol danny carey played on the tool cds, josh played in more than 1000, i think this gives him the credit he deserves...

  • Danny carrey is a better drummer but i like Josh more

  • talking about a 20 year career, hes in his 30's. shit!!

  • read his resume period

  • Anyone who's listened to Tool's 10,000 days will know beyond any doubt that Danny Carrey is so far ahead of this guy - who is still a kick ass drummer - that there really is no comparison. "Rosetta Stoned" should be enough to convince anyone doubting me.

  • dude how can u even compare josh freese to dan carey, 1st of all josh freese background is in punk (vandals) and dan carey in progressive metal, i'm not saying dan carey is worse, just that u can't compare

  • i agree. dana carvey is much funnier than josh freese.

  • Dana Carvey's versatility also trumps Freese. Carvey played some rockin' music in "Wayne's World," and explored high drama in "The Church Lady."

  • Josh Freese is the best drummer i´ve ever listen to. I must admit that in terms of drummig technique there´s several other drummers above him but Josh style is unique.

  • totally agree

  • Josh freese rules,DW rules, and Vandals rule.End of story all you can suck a chode.

  • I don't think you can really compare Freese and Carey that much, just 'cause each has such a different style and approach to drumming. You can't really say one is better than the other, 'cause they're both fucking brilliant.

  • exactly one is punk the other progressive metal

  • what a tool....ha i love freese because of APC but seriously danny carey is miles ahead of this guy.

  • stop talking about danny carey. its a godamn josh freese video. and what the hell are you talking about sellout? hes advertising the drum company he's endorsing. you're supposed to advertise a band you endorse, its how you get endorsed!!

  • danny carey shits a josh freese after his morning coffee every morning

  • josh freese may not compare to danny carey's monsterous amount of skill, but josh freese is still at the top of the drumming world

  • don't get me wrong people.. i love a perfect circle and josh freese is talented. but oh dear god he is such a sell out. he advertises for so much shit it's ridiculous.

  • i agree with kmfdm23. thats how you keep an endorsement deal: advertise for the company that is endorsing you.

  • when you have as much money as josh freese does, you don't NEED to be endorsed. i'm just saying if he's playing with apc, a band with ideals against the whole capitalization thing..then he should stay true to those ideals. but w/e apc is done and over with, and TECHNICALLY everyone is a sell out(hookerwithapenis) so this argument is pointless

  • Eh, Danny Carey is much better then Josh Freese.

  • indeed

  • agreed

  • True, but Josh is still fucking good

  • buddie who said he is a sesh, have you ever met him? or seen him in concert? do you know how many ppl have sampled his work? NO? well then your opinion doesn't matter

  • dw lugs are almost as bad looking as those long band type lugs that go from one head to the other. prob. any other brand looks better than all those blotchy lugs on dws!

  • Your Opinion Obviously... I think they look great. Dw Drums are beautiful.

  • I'd suck all the dw cock I needed for free custom to spec dw drums. Amazing instruments.

  • don't you know you are not supposed to wear white after labor day.

  • ..hmm.. but sucky tho, mind you, if DW wanted to strike up an endorsment with me i'd probably suck their cocks a little bit too..

  • Lol! :D

  • The Bruce Lee of drums

  • Josh Freese is Jesus.

  • JOSH FREESE IS THE MAN!!!!!!!

  • No Shit

  • Nah, he's a sesh musician
