well i smoke weed because i react well to it. you people who say your brain feels hot and all crazy stuff SHOULD NOT SMOKE WEED. you can't handle it! some people drink, smoke cigarettes...or even *crazy idea* read or go for a walk! i dont think it should be extreme one way or the other, just logic say maybe you don't like how weed feels to you. i was diagnosed with PS. Aside from positive symptoms, i have socialising difficulties. but with things like this i dont know if it is the illness or just personality!

I dont like to think of myself as having somethign wrong with me. Everyopne has untrue thoughts, even 'well' people will think things that arent true, for me it is just different degrees on a scale.

I prefer to see myself as same as everyone else, we all have thoughts that are untrue but for some it is more intrusive.

I was told that I exhibit certain signs of being schizophrenic by two friends who are head nurses. I know that what I hear is in my head, and when I hallucinate I have to concentrate to keep what I see in my head from overlapping my surroundings. Sometimes I see people as beasts instead of humans as we see ourselves and it's scary because of how we look when I'm having an episode. I only have seizures when I sleep but when I'm awake I just hear stuff from my past.

See a psychiatrist or psychologist. There are other criteria that you need to meet in order to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, but there may be something else going on.

I've heard before that weed can trigger latent schizophrenia. That's one main reason I don't believe it should be legal, because smelling it and getting contact highs in people vulnerable would be out of their control. People have to breathe.

If you were seeing patterns...I highly doubt weed was the only thing you were doing bro. Maybe you forgot about your shroom or acid trip a few days/weeks before? I'll agree with the brain feeling hot claim...because that happened to me when I smoked on 4/20...but I'm just saying weed resulting in schizophrenia has got to be an outrageously high ratio. On the other hand, just because you were seeing things doesn't automatically mean you are schizo. Its called substance abuse!

as a mental illness survivor.and schizophrenic survivor your right antipsychotics do make you fat ive put on so much weight cause of them and im addicted to benzos but i feel better :) in ontario canada health care sucks and like i was only locked up for 6 days in 4 years the first 72 hours when i had my psychosis was scary

thanks for your feedback, PCJoejoe. I, the director, of the film, also experience psychosis, and was getting frustrated with the lack of docus from survivors themselves. So that's why I made it. And am very glad I did. It has been shown in quite a few places all over the world, including a small festival in Cannes.

I understand and empathise with stu.The illness is unpredictable and you never know whats around the corner and how the day is going to pan out i.e when the symptoms are going to occur for example voices and visual hallucinations the very first sentence strikes a cord with me '' whats a typical day for you'' the truth in his response is very commen in schizophrenia, it's sad to say that the day can be as unpredictable as the illness itself.schizophrenic..

It seems to me that if we're trying to erase the stigma of mental illness and move our society's understanding of it forward, using words like 'total loonies' (vs.'ok and normal')would be counterproductive and divisive. It continues to distinguish those afflicted as 'the unhealthy others'.
