  • @maymay1984 so glad you liked it...it's one of my fav cheesecake recipes too :)

  • For sure I am going to try this. Love yr video.

  • You're hilarious ;-) Keep up the good work, lots of love from the UK.

    Jx

  • OMG I don't believe it, I know exactly what you are talking about with the gagging cheesecake! I will definately try this recipe, you are such a trip, you could be one of my relatives. You really should have your own cooking show!

  • I love this with the fruit in it & edges very brown

  • I prepared this ricotta cheesecake for Easter dinner at my sisters. I have to tell you - I do alot of baking and make many different types of cheesecakes. Yours (made just as directed) that I used the lemon zest (1 tablespoon) and I used the honey also. I also made extra graham cracker / butter to bring my crust up the sides of my pan. IT WAS AWSOM !!! Great smooth cheesecake !!! Love It.....

  • @ladybugdmp1 Glad you liked it sweetie :)

  • @PrincessDiana161 Thanks for the recipe! I prepared it as you did in the video, but unfortunately I failed to have a creamy mixture, the ricotta was separated from the mixture. Would you please tell what mistake I might did? I used mascarpone as cream cheese instead, as I live in Italy.

  • @MessWithMeIfYouCan was it room temperature? sometimes when it's cold it separates. Make sure all ingredients are room temperature

  • Respond to this video...

  • Being Italian myself, I LOVED your video. This cheesecake looks nice and airy, the only problem is I can't tell my mom. She'll kill me for liking someones elses better.

    Thanks for the fun.

  • Sounds good, and you were fun. :-D

  • 4:35 good video! I'm going to try this.

  • Hey there,

I'm going to try this recipe. Is there another name for 'Cream cheese'? It seems a little generic and here in the UK there is a good chance there is a difference.

I don't think we have Graham crackers here, can I use something like digestive biscuits as an alternative?

This local Sicilian cafe makes this incredible cake, they call is cassata and I'm trying to make it myself it's that good.

    Thanks for the video !

  • Have you ever tried to use fat free cream cheese? I always wondered if it would set up properly if using the fat free version.

  • never tried it but if you do let me know how it turns out

  • do not eat the shit gordon ramsey calls cheesecake, real cheesecake is baked.

not that instant crap with jello in it either.

  • In my opinion, Petit Suisse would NOT be a good substitute for cream cheese in this recipe. It does give you an idea of the proper texture, which is why I decided to post this, but cream cheese has an even milder flavor than petit suisse.

  • higher fat content than the US model, and Philadelphia cream cheese has been suggested as a substitute when petit suisse is not available.

Philidelphia cream cheese is an American product made by Kraft Foods.

Philadelphia is used by some as a generic term for cream cheese, and in Spanish it is translated as queso Filadelfia or "queso crema."

  • For the French lady having trouble finding cream cheese (or any other non-Americans with the same problem), I copied this from Wikipedia. I hope it helps: According to the American food processing company Kraft Foods, the first American cream cheese was made in New York in 1872 by American dairyman William Lawrence, in his quest to reproduce neufechel. The technique is known to have been in use in Normandy since the 1850s, producing cheeses with

  • This is similar to my ricotta cheesecake, but I use a traditional Italian lemon crust, not graham cracker crust. A ricotta cheesecake does not need flour, but can't imagine making a New York cheese cake w/o the 3 tbsp flour. NY cheesecake is known for its density. w/o the flour you just can't achieve the proper density, and end up with a filling that resembles a custard/pudding. While ricotta cheesecake is meant to be light, NY cheesecake NEEDS flour to be New York cheesecake! NY sells best!

  • Yes,from "Kraft" it is here in germany too, looks, like thats the worldwide distributor for this cream cheese

  • Hi@

    JoycyJuice

we,in germany have something calld "Philadelphia" thats maybe what you are looking for,I think its not only known in our country, maybe you have it in france too.But take the full fat version, not the light one.Cheesecakes with this kind of cream cheese taste great

  • We have philadelphia too here in the philippines. though, it's made by kraft. but tastes like heaven.

  • Great video

but in france cheese are not the same :(

    can't found a good one...

in israel they haqve "gvina levana" but here the "white cheese" is not the same at alll :( even the wishpered cream...

riccota ok but cream cheese ...wich one??

    plz help me

  • fromunda cheesecake

  • I made this cheesecake for thanksgiving following this recipe. It was awesome. Everybody loved it. thank you so much for posting this video.

  • hi! is this italian version? i will try it. thanks!

  • Thanks for the prompt reply! I'm trying my hand at a Pistachio Cheesecake this weekend and it calls for a half-cup of flour. I thought that was a little excessive seeing as most recipes have either none or maybe 3Tbls at most. Thanks again!

  • Hi. I'm just wondering if you've much experience with cheesecakes that ask for flour to be incorporated. Do you have any opinions on that? Also, I don't care for an extremely sweet cheesecake. That and your issue with Cream Cheese giving that feeling of stickiness in the back of the throat are two things I do not want to deal with. However, as I've not used Ricotta as an ingredient I'm left wondering how your final product turned out. Thanks!

  • I dont ever see the need to add flour when i make this recipe... you'll find that adding Ricotta will make the cake a lot lighter.

Even when I make a regular cheesecake i have never added flour.

  • i do almost the same i top it off with a jar of baby food applesauce

  • just put mine in the oven, ive been wanting to make this for like a month i'll tell u how it goes :)

  • It smelt like VOMIT? Is THAT what you said??

OMG !! Is this on YouTube??

How am I suppose to watch you make Ricotta cheesecake now?

  • I didn't say this cake smelled like vomit ... i was talking about another one that we purchased years ago.

  • you didn't mention how many eggs to add:)

  • Love the fruit on the cake you top the cheesecake with. Looks amazing!

  • Looks awesome! UR awesome! lol

    ^_^

  • Great video, had to bookmark it to my favorites; I made two different cheesecakes yesterday; had no idea it was so easy; great taste too. The only bad thing is that I've been cooking healthy, and now I'm hooked on cheesecakes

  • In moderation it can be a healthy treat :)

  • damn yanks!

good looking cheesecake, gotta give it a shot this week. Did you add sugar when you made the crust, or just the crackers with butter alone?

  • The crackers already have sugar in them so I just added butter

  • whats the wisdom behind adding one egg at a time? what will happen if you add them all at once? thanks

  • They'll blend better that way.

  • you're very harsh with the camera guy. I notice you didn't add flour like most recipes call for; is that why the cake is smooth? Does sour cream make it less smooth?

  • thats her husband?!!

  • I made this cheesecake for a dinner party on Sunday. (August 2, 2009). The comments: "This is the most wonderful cheesecake I have ever had. Light, not heavy." My phone has not stopped ringing all week from people inquiring about the recipe for this cheesecake and I send them your YouTube link. THANK YOU so much for being so kind as to share your marvelous recipe with us.

  • you remind me of that actress in freaky friday that plays the mom

  • ur not funny ¦(

  • LOL you two are funny! Great video. Thanks! 5 Stars

  • I didn't order my husband a cake for his birthday (because he is so nosey) but, I am going to make this ricotta cheesecake as a sub. Wish me luck!! hahaha

  • I can't wait to try this. What an adorable couple. I would love to have dinner at your place :)!

  • That looks pretty delicious. It'd be good for me to try something a little lighter and fluffier, because I agree that the traditional New York cheesecake is a little heavy.

  • man u guys are so sweat XD....... keep it up sweat hearts XD

  • OMG! You two are so much fun! I've got my first cheesecake in the oven right now. Thanks to Frankie for that tip about more baking time, got mine in for another 10 min. I moved to New Mexico ( alt 6100ft) after living in New Jersey all my life. Baking isn't easy here, Marone!!!

  • Frankie just read this comment and yelled at me "I TOLD YOU!" LOL

  • BTW, "I'm gonna hit you right in the head" is my favorite expression now....My Mike is not so sure LOL

  • Thanks, it's actually pretty easy, it will become a staple dessert in this house!

  • Hey, Diana - this is a fantastic recipe. I've made at least FOUR of your ricotta cheesecakes in the past month or so for one party/event or another, and it's always a hit. Have you ever tried to add chocolate to the filling for a chocolate ricotta cheesecake? I'm thinking of trying that next...

  • OMG CHEESECAKE!

I love cheesecake. This looks like an awesome recipe. I need to try that.

  • great lady you are, but have one question, how hot do i have to get the oven ? it will be my first time making this so i want to get it right, keep up the good work you 2

  • oh man,

    i love this woman.

punch him on the side of the head ...

    priceless ......

  • I wonder if she is single and available.

  • If you have more recipes, I want to have them How do i get them?

  • lol u should have ur own tv show on food network :)

  • I tried this recipe, but used sliced strawberries instead of the zest and honey. I topped it with whipped cream and more strawberries. It was enough to fill two pie shells- one for hubby and me, and one for his parents. Everyone loved it and wants me to make it again very soon.

Thank you so much for this recipe! I totally understand what you mean about regular cheesecake. I love the stuff, but hate the feeling it gives me in my chest and throat. Your cheesecake is so much better!

  • Diana you are the best.. I recently became unemployed ( thru no fault of my own..thanks Bush!) but I came across ur videos and you bring a smile to my face in these hard time... thanks for the recepies.. you should have ur own show!!! such personality! :)

  • What does the water do?

  • no .... take it out and let it cool

  • I love it!.

  • This girl is awesome. And funny.

  • I would Loooove to watch a TV show by you. It is not just informative, but a real crack-up as well. Hey is your hubby Puertorican? Maybe the two of you could host a show. I would certainly watch it. You made an awesome team!

  • These two need a TV show, the two are definitely NOT the Martha Stewart types, thank god! Love from Florida!

  • i never heard about hungarian cheese cake, and i m a hungarian.

  • Same here.

  • what us a water bath

  • OMG I just stumbled up Diana and Frankie when I was looking for different ways to preserve my tomatoes. Diana YOU are a character! You could be any one of my many crazy cousins! "I'm going to punch you right in the head!" I am still laughing from that one. Thanks for the fun!

  • Hey! have you ever thought of getting a tv, i'd defenetly watch it... I'd rather see you than rachel ray:P

  • "Bravo" Rachel Ray is the worst. PrincessDiana puts her to "Shame."

  • That is awesome. I'll be sure to try that recipe

  • "All of a sudden he's worried about the people in the mountains!" LOL. Oh no, Diana, don't punch Frankie in the head! You two are wonderful.

  • Diana, I have had more fun trying your version of recipes. You are so much fun to watch especially with the 'background' comments from your bird, dog and cameraman !!!!! Thanks for showing us how much fun cooking can be.

  • yummy, I've heard of this verison before but never tried it. But this recipe looks easy...will have to make it. Regular cheesecake can be kind of thick.

  • That's why I like this kind better, doesn't stick to the back of my throat

  • is the guy holding the camera the same one that almost feel out of the window while in italy in the nutcheese video?

  • Yeah LOL

  • It is 2 8 ounce packets!

  • You better be getting paid alot for advertising in a place where nobody reads spam. :) ^_^ fag

  • This chef is HOT!!!!!!!! What a babe and funny as hell!!! Great chese cak too!

  • Excellent! You've got great camera presence and have a homestyle personality. You should definitely consider having your own cooking show, or trying out for FoodNetwork's Next Food Star. But not without Franky, he can be your comic relief, the bits and Atilla and the mount people classic! you don't see that on regular cooking shows. I'd watch every episode. Let me know when you make cannoli.

  • Take the apple and peal it then put cramp easylube oil on the apple :

Then take the peeal and put in back on the apple:

Then bake at 450 in oven till done :

Injoy your apple mmmmmm good :

  • "I'm gonna punch him right in the head! All of a sudden he's worried about the people in the mountains!!!" ROFL!

  • god this makes me so hungry

  • Question: How many batches does that add up to? What I'm asking is can I use already made 9" graham cracker crust pans found in the supermarket? Maybe I can use two pans because that batch looks like alot. As you can see I'm trying to cut corners, lol!

  • You can try using those but I never have. I would think you need at least 2 of them. Let me know if it turns out good.

  • i enjoyed that...and i also might try making cheesecake like that...well when my mum lets me cook again last time i was making cookies...total disaster ^^

  • lol love the accents

  • Ma non c'è farina in questa cosa?

  • How many degrees celsius? (i dont have farenheit on my oven

  • You know what? I love this video because you've got a real person (Not a TV chef) showing us a recipe-Plus--the chit-chat between the wife doing the recipe and husband holding the camera is Very funny and entertaining. The ricotta cheesecake looks yummy, I'm going to try it. Thanks!

  • Wow. You thoroughly proved yourself to be stupid.

  • Hey jerk, you have no class. I would say you are a fagget but that would be an insult to gay people, and they don't deserve it!

  • Cheesecake is my favorite food, and thanks to this video I am now going to the store and getting one!

  • Doesn't look half bad...

  • Move over Martha Stewart, You are the real deal.. I was laughing like crazy the way you talk to your husband (you must be Italian)... That Ricotta Cheesecake looks great I am going to be making for my family dinner this week.. I just have a question the water pan underneath is it nesasary all the time ??

  • You only find characters like this in NY.

    I love her!

Everybody I grew up with was just like her!

    D2

  • "it'd take longer if you're at a higher altittude"

hahahas! had a good laugh at that one. Love this. Thanks for the vid!(=

  • Oh my goodness, that looks like such a light creamy batter! I am so going to try that!

  • haha, that's true about the vomit thing, I've noticed with some cheesecakes you do sort of get an initial faint whiff of vomit but thats normal isnt it? Usually the taste is good or maybe I've just eaten very bad cheesecake all my life. I also love milk tart, very popular in South Africa, dont know if they make it in the US.

    Also, what is lemon zest?

  • shavings of the skin.

  • ...That makes me want to cook. I love cheese Cake.

  • lol i love ur accent

  • LOL @ "I'm gonna punch him right in the head". I'm gonna try recipe.

  • How many grams is an ounce? This is an international video platform!

  • 28 grams= 1 ounce

  • How many Celsius is 350?

  • Cool, I think I'm gonna give it a go!

  • Hungarian people don't eat cheesecake. This woman lies...

  • Yes they do, actually.

    Get a clue.

  • Whats for dinner
