and the thing is, there's different ways of dancing bachata... the way they're teaching it, is the way actual hispanics dance it... the way you're "supposed to" in a sense... not the "ballroom" form of the dance.

I have danced Bachata with the World champion and the European champion, and that is NOT how they do it or teach it. On the 4 and the 8 you need to push down against the floor and straighten the leg, not lift it like a dog....

i was out in Dominican Republic, they got some good dancers there

there is alot of diferent ways to dance bachata , this is simply one of them. but once you get the hang of it you would add your own style and even change the steps around. If you really want to see how its danced with style you guys would find this being danced at a hispanic party, but mainly a dominican party.

The way i learned is to tap your foot lightly on the ground and bring it up like the vid says and its been working pretty good, i guess. Pretty easy stuff.
