China is so big a country, people in the northern part of the country are very tall: such as in Beijing, or northeast of China. While in the southern part of China,(especially Cantonese and Hong Kong people) people are shorter. And since in an eariler time, almost most of the people who go abroad to Amaerica or Uk,etc are Cantonese, it has gave the western people such an impression that Chinese are all short, actually most westerners havent seen a northern chinese,they are not short.

i agree with you. I am from the northern part of China, I am like below the average height ( 163cm) in my hometown . But when i travel to the southern part( Canto), i found confidence again!!! So sad is that when i am around my friends from the northern part of China, i am usually the shortest one. T.T ( they are all like 168cm to 174cm)
