The answer is that it is a poorly written story, probably passed along to CHILDREN (much like the story of Santa Claus) who took it on "faith" that the adult was telling them a true story...

Adam and Eve aren't said to be like children, they were cloaked in God's glory and the world they lived in was 'good' but they were still adults. 2. God gave them the power of choice, something we still have today. It seems God would rather us have choice, and slip up occassionally, then to have us either as puppets or not at all. 3. In his mercy he created a bridge back to him - the choice of Jesus. I see your point but how can a human comprehend the mind of the creator of the Universe?

If Adam and Eve committed the original sin, then how could they have been "pure?" Free will = choice, temptation = sin. Why did Adam and Eve decide to sin? Because they were ignorant of the consequences? Because they didn't have an intrinsic sense of morality?

How could Adam and Eve have been perfect if they chose to disregard God's word? I say that humans have always been imperfect...

They were set up to fail so they, and WE, would know what forgiveness feels like. When you are forgiven by a loved one, how does it make you feel? When I'm forgiven, it makes me feel good to know that person loves/cares about me enough to not hold onto whatever I did wrong. And, that way, we would learn how to forgive others becuase we know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of it. I hope this helps and makes sense, hon.

To me the Bible is basically history, Aesop's fables, and a healthy dash of mysticism all thrown together. I understand the authors of the Bible lived in a different time and held different values and beliefs so I don't think the Bible is bad per se. However, I think that it has way too much power as a symbol of magical forces. I dislike that people are afraid not to totally believe the Bible because some all-powerful being will hurt them in some way (i.e. hell).

I think that everytime you feel love and compassion for someone, you are feeling God's Spirit. That's what I think, anyway. And, as far as devout goes, I think what really counts is whether or not you show compassion to people and do something to show it. I've seen you have compassion when you address peopel in your vlogs who are struggling with the same things you have.
