he was the action Doctor, 100%.... i think it was magnificant the way they made it so that he liked being that incarnation, and how he didnt want to regenerate... every other doctor (other than the 2nd, obviously) came to terms with their "deaths" if they got the chance

@SluggieProductions It reflected David, too. He seemed to enjoy being the Doctor. This is a guy who grew up watching it, and probably knew more about it than was healthy. He has been quoted as saying that he would come back for the 50th if asked *fingers crossed* and in fact has a suit and pair of Chuck Taylors socked away for such an occasion.

David was a great Doctor and i think he should have gone out with a grin on his face as the 10th doctor we loved. but his last moments were horrible. when wilf got stuck in that glass room, the tenth started acting like a pathetic child. and the "i dont want to go" thing was stupid. i hated the way his amazin doctor ended. pathetic, sad and alone. he should have ended with a spark of the old him and left with a bang. x x

@animelover5076 Should he have been indifferent to the fact that he was going to die, that he couldn't escape fate? If anything, it makes us feel more for him, since he was such a wonderful Doctor that we'd so quickly come to love. He said that regeneration was like death, with a new man walking off with his life, which The Doctor is always about saving, loving, and living. Death is not easy; it's terribly heartbreaking, and Tennant did a tremendous job with the perfectly written material.

what made the end of time so sad was that this doctor did not want to die i loved david tennant he was a brilliant doctor but im sorry matt smith is way better his alien quirkyness and offbeat humour makes for a traditional style doctor who. matt smiths acting is just superb.

@Bferner I loooooove matt smith as the doctor and if he had tennants storylines it would be increeeedible!!! but the stories seem to be a bit meh for matt smith in my opinion not as incredible as tennants and also it gets a bit samey, dont get me wrong the pandorica was AMAZING but some of the smaller storylines have been a ll a bit predictable amy trapped rory mad doctor crazy, doctor gets determined rory and him squable over amy doctor saves amy hugs all round ooo i love you rory blah blah :P

@TRUxViP3R thats not true the episodes love and monsters and fear her were horrid episodes and david tennants acting surely did nothing to make those episodes epic or great. matt smiths alien quirky humour and mysterious persona is what makes him ten times better than tennants doctor who was far too human to be the doctor. david tennant is a marvelous actor but, his potrayal of the doctor was like a human pretending to be alien while matts doctor is like an alien pretending to be human.

@doctorw2 im sorry but david tennant boosts every episode that he stars in and he never fails btw david tennant's doctor was like an undercover alien which shows what aliens of his kind would do, acting like a human but reveals himself later on!

Matt smiths alien quirky humour is over acted and isn't as great because he tries to make jokes all the time which kinda kills it while david tennant makes jokes at the right times which makes it funny but serious and great at the same time!

@TRUxViP3R i disagree strongly, matts acting is superb and his jokes are offbeat which makes him seem even more alien he never seems to be looking for a punchline like david tennants doctor he just says things spountaniously and you cant help but laugh becuase of matts charisma. david tennant is a wonderfull actor like i said but, matt smith is a bit better at being the doctor he radiates an aura of complex mystery to the character that david tennat could not quite pull off.

@doctorw2 to be honest its not about acting alieny, its about acting in an alien way but like a human, like other doctors shown they acted like humans but are aliens inside, that was the meaning of the doctor but matt seemed to change it and made it abit dry if i must say but look i can't change you opinion so you like matt and my best doctor is tennant, so its cool

@TRUxViP3R yea its ok, i like david tennant like i said he was great but, matt smith is my kind of doctor since i grew up with the classic series of doctor who and matt smith is more like a classic style doctor and if youve seen any of the classic doctors like tom baker or sylvester mccoy they deffinetly did not act human they just had some human qualities any way i like my doctors to be alien,weird, and wonderfully odd and eccentric thats what makes the doctor the doctor.

@Bferner Exactly. Tennant was perfect, but Matt has definitely won me over without taking over David's place in my heart; they share equal space now. They're both excellent actors (two of the best in my book, along with John Noble, Jensen Ackles, and Robert Downey, Jr.), with the ability to make you laugh like crazy, chill you to the bone, and then break you into tiny pieces.
