  • Thanks bro, this hella worked. I replaced the battery in this 4th gen touch and it wouldn't restore, and it had never been previously jailbroken so I was baffled. Turns out it was just itunes, and I never even bothered to try and restore it on a different computer, but this trick worked!!

  • Now my itunes wont detect my iphone at all?!?! Please help!!!

  • Easier way to get rid of Error 14:

When clicking Resore, hold down the SHIFT key on your computer (Windows).

Then, you must select the Restore firmware - (For my iPod 4G I chose 5.1)

Then it will work like a charm :)

    Subscribe :D

  • does the same principle apply to the 4th gen ipod touch?

  • I'm on win 7, and can't find any of the paths you describe in your video.

  • @ThomasGrillo You probably can't see appdata! Go to C: drive then click on Users, then your click on your Username, then inside that you should see the appdata folder. If not go click Organize -> folder and search options -> View tab -> Show hidden folders. That will make the appdata folder appear. Then inside the appdata folder click Local -> Apple Computer -> iTunes --> then delete the two files you see! Hope that helps... :)

  • @soulmsg Thanks for the reply, and assist. Happy holidays! :)

  • i love you man my ipod would have been smashed if you didnt make this video.

the only problem was u were going a little too fast i couldnt keep up but i paused so i could do what you told me. overall it was great

  • It doesn't work? I still get 14 error

  • Alright, still trying it, but

To those of you unable to find your "appdata" folder, you need to enable viewing hidden folders.

click start, then click control panel. in Vista, click "view classic mode", or in 7, change the view mode from "categories" to "large icons". then click "folder options". click over to view (a tab at the top), then find the option that says "Show hidden folders"- In win 7, it's the only bubble instead of a square box. accept, and appdata should show.

    Hope this works!
