Yeah i agree with you there is not really that many female characters. I have no idea why there is not more. the female characters are every bit as good as the male. Invisible Woman, Jean Grey, Ms. Marvel, Psylocke, Penance, She-Hulk, Songbird, Storm, playable so far

Sorry, the majority of X-Men did their best to stay out of the Civil War (which this game takes after). If you ever heard of Gambit getting involved though, that really boosts his chances.

I think you're mostly going to be able to choose which side to play on, regardless of each character's alliances in the comic books. There are a few characters you can't swap over, like Iron Man, Mr FF, Luke Cage and Captain America I think, but that's it. But don't quote me.
