You should mention that teleporters can also be used defensively. Placing them on stairs blocks enemy traffic allowing your sentry to destroy them at minimal costs.
How do you pick up metal (Im newbie at TF2)? Do you just walk over Fallen broken weapons or somthing? And how do you make the teleporters and sentries and stuff? (Once again, Sorry, but I am new to this class)
teles DO give points. you CAN lead the board as engi quite easily with teles.
decent INTRO to the class for very very new players. probably could have benefited from some explanation on what build order to focus on on setup on defense.; and typical ways enemies use to take out engi nests and how to counteract that.
I simply build right out in the open where noone expected a sentry gun to be placed. for new engineers I suggest playing on defence. once you get better, you can choose to either play ambush or offensive engineer. Engineer is a great class, but he usually doesn't get the credit he deserves. :(
You should have mentioned that you can rotate the blueprints with the right mouse button. This is useful with the sentry but essential for your teleporter exits. It is very annoying if you exit the teleporter facing directly the wall without knowing where you are. There is an arrow on the blueprint guiding in the direction you will exit the teleporter.
Hitting buildings while deploying them halves the time (10 to 5 seconds for SG). This stacks with multiple engies (2 seconds with 5 engies)

i believe you need to press "4" to bring up the construction menu (if you play PC version)
you can get metal by
1. collecting weapons and broken stuff
2. building a dispenser which gives you metal, health and ammunition in every visit

Wrong right at the start. Teleporters give you points like assists. Still missing a LOT of the class.

Must have made this before the updates where the Engie gets points for everything.

Teleporting makes half a point, with fast teleporters you do make a lot of points.
Bacon99 3 years ago 3
My bad. Still, the engineer seems to get no points usually, specialy' against good players
